Bruno Gomes, Will Hughes, Nick Taitague to name 3.
What about Herrera then?
According to Ballague on Revista tonight, we wont be going back for him as we simply don't think he's worth the money and Bilbao wont budge.
When were we linked to him?
Going by what a few posters on here have said, it's true that he probably isn't worth the money. Problem is, what other targets are there? Even forgetting about January, who is likely to be available next summer who fulfills the "World Class but relatively cheap" requirement the club has set for itself?

Gundogan. He won't go for a lot of money as he will only have a year left. The only problem is that the whole world will be after him, and when everyone is after a player they mostly end up at Real or Barca.
Have Madrid and Barca been linked with him? Or is this all in your head because you think he's a great player...
Pirlo. Pirlo.

And De Rossi.

Moyes' fascination with Everton players is going to set us back 50 million years.

As for Gundogan, even if he's on the move I seriously doubt we'd be after him or that he'd pick us ahead of all the other clubs that would undoubtedly make their moves.
So, once he does move will you complain we didn't make a move? Or slate the management for not getting him? Or slate them for getting someone who isn't as good as Gundogan?
This is what riles me about midfield targets: everyone wants the very best, thinks we can't get the very best, complains when we don't get the very best, further complain about overpaying for second best, and start rioting if we don't get anyone because... you know... no one good enough was available.
fecking hell.
Thing is, we want the best because we should be able to get the best and our management claims to be after the very best. Our stature sets those expectations. We then fail to compete with the other top clubs for those premium players, often because they seem to be beyond what we're willing to pay. This reluctant to spend is an even bigger problem for us as we have other difficulties to overcome when convincing a player to come (location, glamour, wage etc.) This very cautious approach would be more understandable if we didn't then overpay for lesser players. It really doesn't make that much sense, so it's no surprise people complain.
The belief that we can't compete with Barca or Real comes from previous bad experiences. It doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to compete with them.
In short WE ARE SCREWED. He'll knows how we've managed to win soo much titles with our lack of spending, shit location and BIG club rivals on our back.
I was at the game, he had a couple of decent efforts on target, but didn't really stand out.
£28 million it is then
Moyes was at the Fleetwood v Chesterfield game today ,allegedly looking at Tendayi Darikwa.
Apparently the manager of fleetwood town is a player he managed at Preston, so he could have just been invited over without necessarily being on a scouting mission.

Ruud Gullit reckons Manchester United MUST make three major signings in the January window to maintain their status as English champions.
The former Chelsea boss believes fitful United are currently paying the price for making too few changes to their dressing-room in the summer in the wake of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement as manager.
Gullit said: “I can fully understand that new boss David Moyes has now asked the board to sanction the purchase of three top class footballers in the winter to keep the team competing at the highest level in England and Europe.
“I have reason to believe that funds are being made available at United. And they should because it is a necessity.
“And when they do buy those three stars, it will be easier to let Wayne Rooney follow his heart if he wants to leave.
“They kept basically the same team and squad in the summer. Which is why they are inconsistent in the Premier League.”
Gullit went on: “The club is also struggling to get going without Alex Ferguson. They are missing his presence and his personality.
“There is no longer the man who shakes the place up internally and who has the guts to dish things out to the FA, to referees or other authorities. Ferguson always got away with his strong voice. In fact, he always came out stronger, as they would all take notice of what he said.
“David Moyes does not have that status yet and you can’t expect him to take on that role overnight.”
Express are saying we'll be moving for Alexis Sanchez this January.
