Surely this means Welbeck out...

Would Welbeck be content with a spot on the bench??.

Will add title winning experience and title winning mentality to that Arsenal Squad. They'll now have 2 players in Cech and Vardy who have both had starring roles in PL title winning teams. A bit of bottle at both ends of the pitch can only be a good thing for the perennial chokers.

They just need a PL winner in the center of their team now, how about Steven Gerr....oh wait.

Wenger is not stupid

If he does buy Vardy, then he'll ensure their style changes to suit him.

He is rarely a bench option for Arsenal when fit. He is multifunctional, so Welbeck could play out wide or become Arsenal 'Okazaki,' next to Vardy. As one other poster mentioned, he is out until 2017, so we will have to wait and see what happens when he is back.

On Vardy signing, I think this signing might be a good short term signing for them. Vardy had a great season and his energy upfront and finishing ability will be an asset for them. A combination of either or one of Giroud, Welbeck and Vardy gives Wenger different style to play with in the attack.

Shades of RVP with this transfer, Wenger might only have another year left.

In age and fee maybe, but you can't compare VP and Vardy in quality terms

There's some transfers you feel a little worried at, like Sanchez going to Arsenal, or even Ozil.

Then there's others you think, really?

Don't understand why a Leicester player would choose to leave right now unless it's for a Real/Barca.

Because they recognise that they've absolutely maximised what they can achieve at Leicester, and can cash in to outrageous extents by leaving?

Yeah he's not at the same level but he's got a much better supporting cast at Arsenal than RVP had here. In fairness to Wenger there's not too many young up and coming strikers so if he can get 2+ good years from Vardy it'll be money well spent considering the revenue clubs have available now.

I am not the one to provoke the opposition fans, but I would be really concerned if I was an Arsenal fan right now. They are desperate for a top striker, and this signing pretty much shows the lack of ambition from the club, IMO. That, or that they refuse to spend money to improve their team, which is. They should be going either for someone like Higuain, or some younger strikers but who has already shown lot of promise.

Exactly. Vardy should only ever be squad material at a team of Arsenal's level.

Will be interesting to see what Wenger's thinking. Competition for Giroud, with Welbeck out for so long most likely, rather than an outright first choice.

Things just got very interesting. He's the real deal. They're a soft team with a grafter now (Sanchez also).

We gotta get Kante now. Imperative.

Might Vardy be a one season wonder?

Might Wenger facing possibly his last season in a last gasp sign of desperation think Vardy might do the trick for him?

Managers can make strange decisions when in decline.

I think so, can't see him replicate his season. Time will tell though.

He is going to look pretty weird in all those topless photos the Arsenal squad love so much.

good catch for them.

They will get the goals they need. He is not injury prone either.
This is Arsenal, he will be injured for six months out of the next eighteen and I don't see their medical staff helping him with the bunions on his face. Arsenal are a bunch of arseholes and now to my delight they have a little cnut. I doubt Wenger will have them finishing in the top four this season.

I can't make up my mind whether this is a good transfer or not? Doesn't seem like a Arsenal kind of player.

Why?

Arsenal are a bigger club. What Leicester did will not be repeated again.

It's a great move for him personally.

Perfect situation for him at Leicester. They're in the CL. Leceister's system is great for him. Just seems an odd move for me.

Out of their players, I thought Vardy was the least likeliest to move.

Maybe Vardy is leaving due to being told that the Leicester team are being sold off and this is too good to pass up?
If I were Vardy I would
A) lift weights ffs.
B) go abroad.
He would be perfect for Atletico. With such a small clause they surely wouldn't turn him down.

You think he'd leave Leicester now to be a squad player? That'd be mad.

I agree.

Vardy
Sanchez Ozil Ramsey
Xhaka Cazorla
Monreal Koscielny ? Bellerin
Cech
Very decent team Arsenal will have next season.

Spoke to a few of my Arsenal mates today, and understandably, they're not too keen on Vardy, and would rather spend the money elsewhere.

How much is the exact sum? I've heard figures from 20 - 35 million.

The problem with this signing is that if it doesn't work & Wenger leaves then the new manager would have 30 yr old Vardy plus Giroud so it's a massive gamble.
