Interesting decision. He'll live to regret it if Leicester flop next season and they fall into mid table mediocrity.

well like I just said that was a one off just to a lack of sleep from the previous night, it was also on their day off was it not?

Well having a Red Bull after a poor night's sleep is not the end of the world, I doubt the team doctor would have recommended it though.

To all those saying Vardy's mad to stay with Foxes, look at it this way - if Alexis Sanchez had joined Leicester in 2014 instead of Arsenal, he'd have a Premier League winner's medal right now...

The reality is that right now, as it stands, Leicester are a better team than Arsenal, and they proved so over an entire season.

I think it's commendable if Vardy stays, same with Mahrez and Kanté. Though saying that, United should be breaking the bank to sign Kanté!

This is different to a player saying that he will stay with Everton or Southampton. Leicester won the league and as things stand still have the strongest team in the league.

Vardy turning down Arsenal is not as big as say a Southampton player turning down Arsenal to stay. Vardy probably has more of a chance of winning something/finishing higher with Leicester than he does with Arsenal.

He might also have some sense of loyalty to the club that enabled him to win a title, which if you said to him a year ago, he would think you're mental.

People don't really know what went on in discussions, maybe Wenger didn't guarantee him a first team place, or offered him less money than he was currently on. I'm sure there was some talk about Arteta taking a pay cut when he signed for Arsenal.

I feel sorry for Wenger. He has been crucified from the media and even arsenal fans for not "splashing the cash" yet when he tries to splash the cash on a big name like Vardy, who most people would say should be attainable for arsenal From Leicester City and is the fox-in-the-box type striker they have needed for years, he gets rejected.. Poor bloke can't catch a break can he!?

I do like Wenger so I hope he can splash the cash around and get the striker he needs. I miss the United vs Arsenal games where it actually meant something. Watching old games of the early 2000s of our games vs Arsenal brings back some great memories.

I am glad he won`t join Arsenal. I think he would have improved their attacking power a lot and give them something they have been missing for a while.

I do not think that Leicester will have a say at the title challenge next season. I think this was a one off.

I would be happy enough if he signed for Arsenal as they don't play to his strengths and if you don't play to his strengths, he's a bit wank and offers nothing more than his work rate.

Yes, that was a nice snapshot of how he'd be if he lined up for Arsenal and we were playing against two banks of four looking to stifle the game. Then again, strikers who can score in those sorts of games are very rare.

Didn't he sign a new contract in January?

So a further 4 years would make it about 8 years?!

Either way, it looks like he will be on £100,000+ until his mid 30's

He was better than Ibrahimovic on Arsenal Mania a few days ago and now apparently they're going to drop into the Championship when they steal Mahrez in revenge

Mahrez won't go to Arsenal either.

Apparently, he's now a shite player according to Arsenal fans.

Blessing in disguise for Arsenal. He isn't their type of player and wouldn't be successful there imo.

The few Arse fans I know weren't that fussed on him and didnt really care when it came out that he was opting to stay.

I actually think Vardy was conflicted on this one, it's a difficult position to be in - especially after last season and the fact that Leicester are probably offering a similar wage to Arsenal.

Would have been a terrible move for Arsenal but he's an idiot for turning them down really.

I really hoped they would buy the ferret cnut, now they sadly might go and get a proper striker that fits their system.

Don't see why personally, he gets to see the job through at Leicester by going into the Champions League with them. Arsenal aren't winning a league any time soon either so stay, be a legend at Leicester.

I don't like him but I immediately think a bit more of him for staying.

Thats not how it works
I figured not, but they worded it to sound like it could be.

His previous contract was already going to run until about 2020. So if he's signed a new 4 year contract then it's not a further anything years. It's just more money and no buy out
