James Rodriguez

I like Moutinho but he might slightly lightweight for the Premiership. Also we like to play a higher tempo which i don't think suits him.

Rodriguez would offer us more goals from the wide position, i guess though less of wing play compared to other wingers. For that then we'll be more reliant on the fullbacks.

We don't need him if Nani stays though, obviously.

Moutinho suits high-tempo games perfectly, he's smart and is excellent on the break. Always chooses the right pass.

He's small (and goes down easily) but he has incredible strength and stamina. Are you people still obsessed with this physicality thing? I thought you'd have gotten past it by now, with so many lightweight players plying their trade successfully there.

Porto will probably, and unfortunately, have to sell at least two players from the first team, possibly more.

Moutinho and James are the most likely targets, provided we get decent proposals for them. Also think some Spanish clubs have their eye on Jackson Martínez, and Fernando and a CB might be shipped as well. I fear a squad overhaul, we're probably a couple of decent performances in the quarter-finals of the CL for that to happen, provided we get through Malaga of course.

Moutinho i think may move, but your asking price might mean Rodriguez stays for another season.

Madrid with elections due would want a more high profile name while Barca want Neymar.

Amongst others really Chelsea don't need him unless someone leaves which really leaves Us and City as teams that could pay that price, unless he wants to move to Russia/France etc..

In midfield ? Who ?

Most our those who ply their trade further upfield and are more skillful running with the ball and hence can bounce off tackles.

Eh? Why do we need another winger?

Isnt Valencia, Nani, Young, Zaha and sometimes Kagawa not enough?

Welbeck has probably been our first choice winger this season too.

But Valencia isnt good enough, Nani will leave, Young is too English, Zara is Championship standard and Kagawa is a flop. Wouldn't be surprised if we signed 4 new wingers this summer.

Yes, further upfield, but the same arguments were used before for that kind of players.

Moutinho doesn't lose divided balls easily, he's an excellent tackler and isn't easily pushed off the ball at all. He does go down easily, but that's his option and it's always a foul, as he picks his moments and knows the referees will give it to him. I'd expect him to be aware he wouldn't get that many fouls in England, being him one of the most intelligent players I know.

I don't see how his size would be a negative apart from aerial balls, if Scholes could play that position then so can Moutinho, albeit with a very different skill set.

Wait for the Gaitan links.

Gaitan was strange. All those links for him, and he was never as good as the players we are usually linked.

Anyway to the topic, if Nani stays, I wouldn't like to sign Rodriguez. Though, I would love if we sign Moutinho, who is in top of my summer wish list.

Man United revive interest in £36m Porto youngster Rodriguez with Anderson a willing makeweight

Porto's Colombian winger James Rodriguez is back at the top of Manchester United's wanted list and is coming under growing scrutiny at Old Trafford.

Sportsmail revealed last year how the 21-year old's release clause had shot up from £24million to £36million.

But United still have room for manoeuvre, with Nani and Anderson both likely to be available at the end of the season and candidates for a part-exchange deal.

Anderson admitted a return to the Estadio do Dragao could be on the cards, saying: 'Porto are the one club I would consider moving back to Portugal for.

'My past is there. It is where I put down my roots in Portuguese football.'

His likely to head back to Portugal in the summer after failing to earn a regular starting birth at United.

Would love to see him come over to United in a year's time, but as a replacement for Giggs and not Nani.

Will be watching him along with Falcao and Jackson Martinez this Friday against Bolivia and Tuesday vs Venezuela. Can't wait. The whole country is jacked about this selección de Colombia. The nationwide borrachera will be massive on Friday evening.

Would rather give an Anderson + cash for moutinho swap deal.

A central midfielder? Ha, unlikely!

I'm torn, Moutinho would be a good central midfielder to have but he'll be 27 by then. Rodriguez will be the same price and only 22, and is potentially a much better player.

Rodriguez is more of a future #10 than a winger in my eyes anyway, so we certainly don't "need" him, and I'd be worried that we'd do an Anderson again and try convert him to a midfielder.

Cant see us getting yet another winger, even if Nani is sold we have Zaha coming in. If he's not sold we have 4 wingers on the books, either way getting another doesn't make much sense.

We just need more wingers and forwards

If we keep Nani we don't need a winger but if he goes I think we definitely do. We can't go in to next season with Valencia, Young, and Zaha as our only natural wingers.

Valencia may well turn things around and go back to his old self next season but it's not something I think we should be relying on. Young is injury prone and even when not injured he's only good enough to be a squad player and not a regular starter. Zaha is young and it will be a big step up for him, certainly not someone we should rely on to consistently produce for us. We have Giggs as well but he can't play every game and is used I'm center mid a lot as well. There's definitely room for another winger if Nani leaves.

This. And while at it, put a bid on Song who's class, but can't seem to do other than be on the bench.

Yes, Carrick, Moutinho, Cleverley and Song with some help from Giggsy at time can do the job. Or we can simply buy Moutinho and give Anderson the third FINAL YEAR.

Anyway, Moutinho IMO can really do a difference and I would like much more to sign him than the Dutch fella.
