Yup. Nothing wrong with buying the sub players from the best team on the planet.
There's really not, provided they can take your team to another level. If the players are electing to move in order to play more, as opposed to being forced out, all the better.

Shades of John Terry tonight when James picked up his medal draped in the Colombia flag

He is not a Jose player. A big ass striker or a pacey winger. Those are the things we need.

He's definitely is. He's actually to the classic number 10 Jose loves more than Mata and Mikhi. Think about someone as Sneijder or Ozil in Jose's previous teams.

I'll still love him any time. Great player but in the wrong team for him.

Ozil isn't really the same as Sneijder. I'm sure Jose has alluded to Spain being essentially a two-horse race this season (something like in Spain there is only Barcelona and Madrid) and so tactically he can be more liberal. The 'number 10 he loves' is actually not a classic number 10. In the same response below he says for this reason Hazard would not be a number 10 for him. So it's clear his number 10 is someone technically gifted but someone gritty who tracks back.
Mourinho said:
“With a system of two midfield players and one number 10, I demand a lot from a number 10.
“I like a number 10 to score goals. I like a number 10 to get in the box. I like a number 10 to score goals like Oscar's against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“A number 10 for me is an eight-and-a-half when the team loses the ball, and the number 10 is a nine-and-a-half when the team has the ball.
“Who is my perfect number 10? Wesley Sneijder and Deco. Because they could defend, get in the box and finish goals? Yes.”
Is James like this at number 10?

It's really. The only exception was Oscar but the team got Fabre behind him to create the goals. All his other number 10s support the idea.

He literally says in that quote Deco and Sneijder are his perfect number 10s because they did the creative stuff BUT also defended. How can you refute this?

Don't remember me saying Jose doesn't want his number 10 to defend.

James is as close as you will get to Deco and Sneijder. There is no other player as close available in the market. James as played most of his minutes as a CM for Madrid this season.

Which one of those is Ozil?

Different times man. Özil mostly played in the number 10 role, with Ronaldo and Di Maria playing wide.

What i'm trying to say is we've got that position covered right now. Mata, Henrikh and Pogba. We need goals from the front three. I don't think we've had a problem creating chances during the season. Finisihing has been the general problem.

Are you okay? You namedropped Ozil and then stated Mourinho's perfect number 10 is a classic number 10 - i.e Ozil - it isn't.

Neither of Mkhi or Pogba is a #10. Mikhi is best on the flank like under Tuchel (he struggled in the #10 under Klopp) and Pogba is a CM. Mata is the only true #10 and not as good as James and lacks the physical qualities to excel in the PL consistently. Having James+Mata, gives us a very good starter in James and a good backup in Mata.

Jose haven't really used Mata or Mkhitaryan as a number ten this season. It's been more like Pogba, Herrera and Carrick in two number eight roles and a number six role hasn't it?

When I look at his Porto and Chelsea teams, it seems to me like his favorite lineup doesn't include a classic number 10. He might use a player like Özil and Mata, but they would mainly occupy the left wing.

However I do think that Jose likes his wingers to be pacey and strong finishers. And we have lacked that this season. Well, not the pace, but Martial, Mata, Miki and Lingard has been lethargic throughout the season.

I don't think Jose is going to sign HRAMES. He needs a reliable DM to compliment Herrera and Pogba.

He'll sign for us and most likely play on the wing.
Signing him for big money to play him on the wing in a Mourinho team is a recipe for disaster. Either he plays CAM or we shouldn't even consider him (and I think we won't anyway).

His first stint at Chelsea and his first season at Inter, were the time he didnt use a #10. At Porto, Deco was the #10, Inter was Sneijder, Madrid was Ozil, second stint at Chelsea was Oscar and at United he has used Mata.

The problem last season was that we didnt have a good enough DM to play a 2-man midfield, and he was forced to convert to a 3-man midfield which resulted in droping the traditional #10, and instead often used Fellaini in an hybrid role.

We will likely get a DM and a new #10 this summer.

I'm fine. I think you are the one who should refresh your memory because Jose was the one who bought Ozil from the first place so if he's not his type he wouldn't have bought him at all.

Meh. If we get him then hopefully it's on a squad player status, not a 300k p/w star.

Are you literally reading anything that's been said? Yes, he bought him, because as he has said a fair few times, there's a big difference in Spain where he can be liberal tactically down to the only real competition being Barcelona contrasted to how much more competitive and physical the league is here. Ozil wouldn't ever be bought as his number team in the PL. He's far, far, far more likely to place an Oscar type of player there. That's the last I'll say on the matter. If you're still not getting it, then I can't really help.

Bring the source of the quote about Spain to support your opinion. Also stop telling me things like " are you okay " or " you literally read anything ". You can say what you want and prove you are right without using these phrases. That's annoying.

Stop overpaying for players from Madrid's garbage bin.

Real Madrid are like 5 year olds, want the shiny toy from the TV ad, then when the next ad comes on the TV they throw the other toy away.

Rodriguez isn't suddenly a shit player because Perez and Zidane are looking for their next unveiling.

his 1st season he bagged 13 goals 13 assists in 2290 mins of league football. 2nd season 7 goals 8 assists in 1500 mins of league football. 3rd season 8 goals 6 assists in only 1200 mins of league football. he has shown that given enough minutes, he can double the 3rd season tally. One cannot deny he is productive. I myself give stats only 50-60% importance in judging a player, yet we cannot deny that James has quality and is prone to the spectacular.

I'm not implying that James is now a shit player. Rather that we should be able to get players like him on the cheap if we do our business smartly.

Madrid are paying a huge sum of money for their 2 bench warmers in Bale and James.

Removing these two players from their wage bill would be a huge boost to fund their new galacticos, let alone the transfer fees thrown around.

This is the cheapest you will get a player of his quality. Only Madrid can afford to have such an expensive and quality player on the bench. Madrid paid €75m for him 3yrs ago, do not blame them for trying to recoup some of the money.

From all indication, he wants to leave and is leaving Madrid, United is said to be his preferred destination, and Madrid probably want the money to finance Mbappe or whatever new boy toy Perez fancies. If we still cant get a discount on him then I dont know when we will ever get a good price on a quality player.
