James Rodriguez| Is considering his options

He was absolute class today against Venezuela today. Tore them to shreds with his passing, scored a goal and set up another, but missed a penalty. Would have had like three or four assists more had not Colombia, namely Bacca, fluffed several sitters. And this was all on a really shitty, slow, rain damaged grass in Barranquilla. He would´ve been that much better on a proper, fast pitch.

He really needs to be the proper number 10, running the show, which ain´t going to happen in Madrid. I can only imagine him in Rooney´s spot for us.

The kind of role we all envisage for Pogba does not allow us the luxury of a completely attack minded no.10 like James.

Not so sure about that. I think he would fit perfectly in Rooney´s role with Pogba and Fellaini behind him. Him and Pogba are very different. Pogba, besides having tremendous attacking and passing ability, is very effective defensively and will stick the boot in and take a chunk out of you as well. It gives you the luxury of having a strictly attacking creative number 10 further upfield to link up with Ibra and our wingers. And Rooney, much as I appreciate him, unfortunately no longer fits that bill the way James would. What a blessing that would be.

I wouldn't call him completely attack minded, or rather I wouldn't think he'd interpret a no.10 role in that way.

In his games for Real he does a lot of running & pressing, even too much at times. When played centrally (and not on the wing), he mostly played an offensive CM role behind the BBC attack, which requires an awful lot of work. And just like Isco he took up the challenge, even if it's not working out completely. But I guess in a Rooney role he could bring in these traits too.

Club WC: Looking at offers because he wants to play more
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFFHz4ojJUA

He's saying that he may leave because he's not playing enough. And now Palmeri is saying that we are interested.

What do you guys think?

Do we have a starting place for him? I don't think so.

We play better with 3 in central midfield it's clear for all to see. He doesn't fit our system, perhaps PSG would be good for him since they seem to play better with 4231 from what I've heard.

PSG are doing quite badly this season too. They might be looking for a big signing to fix that.

Quite badly? Drama queen.:p

I don't think that he is what they need, a proper winger on the right would be a better fit with Ben Arfa and Di Maria covering the #10 role.

For the resources they have over the other sides they are doing really badly.

When you look at the actual gap between the players, they aren't. I said it this summer, Ibrahimovic was the X factor, he won them games when they could have lose or draw.

I don't think we need him with mkhi Pogba mata and Rooney in his position

That's not even mentioning martial lingard and rashford.

His best form, outside of the WC, was in his first year at Madrid with Carlo. With Lewa and Muller on long term deals though (and not exactly old either), not sure if Bayern has any use for him.

Perez is a moron. Now we can't sign anybody 'til 2018. How the hell can we sell him?

just overrated, another one summer wonder, not that he's bad but he wouldn't do any good to our team. I'd much rather wait for Pereira too

I can't imagine Mourinho wanting him. He looks heavy when he comes back after a break. He seems to drift in and out of things. As good as he is when he's on form, I just don't think he would add enough to our first XI for Mourinho to want to gamble the money he'd cost.

Does have the workrate for the side Mourinho is building here.

I hope we don't go for him. But he shares the same agent as Mourinho, so i wonder if that may influence certain decisions...

Now we seem, finally, to be on the front foot we no longer need statement signings to appease the fans.

Time to look for what we need, not what we want.

We don't even need a #10 in our new formation. We should spend big to get the perfect replacement for Carrick and not waste money elsewhere.

I heard about a loan to PSG in January. It could be an option although I don't know if he is what they need. For Madrid would be great since his situation is not going to change, Isco,Kovacic and probably Asensio have more options to play and as happened yesterday he likes to complain about his lack of minutes every 2 weeks.
I think that in summer Italy will be his destination.

Can't see a starting XI place for him at any of the top 6 sides in the PL.

In Conte's formation we don't play with a traditional #10, City, Arsenal, and United have loads of similar players, and Liverpool & Spurs would never spend the type of money it would require to sign James.

That really only leaves PSG or one of the faded Italian giants that are looking to spend their way back to the top.

Seems made for PSG or Spurs. Or perhaps Arsenal if they resign to losing Sanchez.

They need another creative outlet IMO. Seem to struggle more to unlock teams.

But James wouldnt go to Spurs in a million years.

Wages and transfer fee way more than they can afford with new stadium to pay for.

The issue isn't what they need. It's that James Rodriguez to Tottenham is nowhere near a realistic transfer.

Quality player but with Mkhitarian and Mata we don't really need him. We need to get some quality wingers and an attacking RB.
