The guy is making waves as second striker the last 3 years. Contrary to what some on here may believe, he's already outgrown the right wing position.
He´s also been fantastic for Colombia in the South American qualifiers thus far, where he runs the show, playing a creative, attacking midfielder who can bang them in from anywhere, especially free kicks. I think he would do well at United.
I think there´s just too much a glut of talented midfielders on Real. It´s not somewhere he´s going to thrive.

If we're the only club interested, who cares what Madrid want for him? Their options are keep his huge wages on and keep him sat on the bench - possibly even prevent them from doing their usual summer big shop - or accept whatever we offer and move on with life.

I agree with you, I'd prefer we sign Griezmann, he'd be my dream signing but looking at our current situation then looking at his.. he is in the champions league final with a great club where he is the main man and everyone adores him. If he came it would be a step down in terms of the football.
James on the other hand wants out, he isn't the main man, wants to be the main man, not sure where Madrid fans stand with him and probably looking to prove himself again.

He doesn't fit into their best 11 and cost an absolute bomb. How many people are discussing selling Di Maria and replacing him with such an expensive sub versus what he does on the odd night out?

Zidane has preferred a 3-man midfield and most likely doesn't think he has the attributes to be forced as a RW. Opting for Vazquez instead.
EDIT: He did play against Valencia as one of the 3 midfielders.
He seems to be a player that needs an arm around him. Not sure he'll be the right fit for United. We need fighters.

Exactly. We play 4-3-3 only under Zidane. Casemiro is now our starting CDM. James can't touch Kroos and Modric in CM positions. Kovacic is also better in that setup but James is getting the minutes because there's 80 mil € to recoup in the summer. James needs to play closer to the goal to be effective, that's not happening in Madrid.

I can't see him going anywhere either tbh, If he stays, I can only see Atletico getting strong and stronger in terms of Squad, which mind you is miles ahead of ours.

I can't see how he'd fit in here considering his style. Van Gaal will bench him after about 10 games and then play him in some weird position for the rest of season, off the bench.

Will be the same overpaid flop as Di Maria, probably leave in a year or a year and a half, can't see him working with either LVG or Mourinho. We need to buy good players that are ready to step up and be a part of the club for some time, the players who on the rise. Not expensive discarded ones looking for quick way out. We already tried it several time: Di Maria, Falcao, some could add Basti to that list, cause he knew Guardiola would drop him at Munich and LVG is foolish enough to believe his can be a vital asset with his obvious decline and injuries.

Dont want if his attitude isn't right. We need determined players willing to play their heart out for the club. Not someone whose here for the cash again and expects to be in the first team regardless of form. Abit worryinng he can't get in the Madrid team, on that basis he shouldn't be good enough for us. We need consistent players like Martial who play superb despite others around him getting 4/5 out of 10 ratings. Im not sure James is one of those players.

People writing him off are crazy. We wont play CL next season, getting a palyer of his calibre would be fanatstic. We are lacking assists and goals from offensive midfield/wing, something James offers. If he wants to play for us and Mourinho wants him, whats the deal? We wont get a better 10. It could be argued it isnt our top priority, but we need to strengthen all over the pitch anyway.
Could do very well under the right system. Could do a much better job for us than Mata or Rooney. The asking price will be horrendous
