Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Hypothetically if Dortmund made it clear that they were not selling him this summer but would be open to a transfer next summer then which viewpoint would you be closer to:

a) We should wait a year for Sancho. He's the perfect player for our team and I'm okay with one more year of Lingard/Mata on the right.
b) Have to move on to another target. There's other good right wingers out there and I can't take another year of no attacks from the right.
Wait a year. Buying Sancho right now given the price he'll cost would mean no big signing in another position unless we make 100m+ out of sales.

Also Rashford,Martial,Lingard,Lukaku,Sanchez with Greenwood possibly coming into the picture next year ... if you add Sancho then we'll have to sell at least two of these guys.

I’m not sure how the buy back clause actually works, but i’d imagine if City want him back then there’s not much we can do about it. Although I understand City are under investigation for breach of Financial Fair Play, a City transfer ban would make things interesting.
There is something the player could do about it though. Ultimately the decision would be Sancho’s and if he didn’t want to go back their clause means nothing.

It's a first option, which they most likely will not use to spend 100m+ on a position thats already well stocked.
Hope you’re right, though it may be more a case of Sancho not wanting to sit on the City bench for the next couple of years.

My thoughts exactly.

Definitely never worth 100ml range or more. At the prices these days the most he is worth is 70-80 mil.

I'm sure part of the 'hype' for him comes from him being an ex city player.

Yeah, but you can't purchase players with real value these days.

Looking at the kid, he's a teenager, english, massive potential, long term contract payoff and he still has many years ahead of him. Easily can be quoted at 100 mil and I think it's reasonable in current transfer climate.

Sure, Lukaku isn't worth 95 mil, but we had to pay that extra premium because of Neymar.

The only last great player bought with true value was Pogba. After that it's all bonkers.

Do you want Sancho? 100 mil is the only way.

For £100 million we need to buy a ready made RW with experience, not a prospect that may or not become very good player/WC. Wasnt overly impressed tonight assist aside. Surely theres a much cheaper option for a prospect?

Thats fair but what happens if Ole wants to use two strikers up front and no wingers? Where do you see him fitting?

As I said - I want Sancho here; but at 100m he comes here with a spot in the first team that has to be permanently made for him.

No good ones are available really

Why obsess about dollars? It's not your money nor will it ever be.

Posters talking about Jadon worth 80m but not 100m are talking out of their hinds.. how do you even know that? You've probably never been in contact with money 1% of that size. Those numbers are almost just random to me; I wouldn't know what 20m means in this context for MUFC or football.

I trust Ole and believe the right calls will be made.

Its not your money. Big clubs spend big on top talent these days you know. Maybe we should be looking for the next Bebe or Obertan

If he is so immensely talented, why would City let him off the hook like that. Maybe the Bundesliga is just stat padding these players. Lookman was also a great player there.

They had no choice he wanted out and refused to sign a new deal.

Sancho is a clear worldie in the making. Absolutely the right player we need for that position.

There’s not many world class RW in the world for a start and he’s got all the tools to become one.

I’d pay whatever it takes to get him as he will be a fixture on that flank for years to come.

The kid has 15+ assists this season in a position we need filling badly. Pogba has 14. 100 will look like a bargain in 2-3 years .

Yeah, we should get a proven world class player with PL experience, just like we did for the left wing. That turned out just fine..

There is no smoke without fire. I hope the rumors are true and this happens in summer.

Wow from 80 mill to 70 mill in two days, soon we are going to get him for free
Jokes aside, hope this deal goes through

Just to add to this, Real payed what 60 million on two teenagers from the Brazilian league?
This guy is much more of a sure bet, he was seen as a big talent since his academy days and has performed exceptionally well in the Bundesliga.

He's certainly as good as or better than Sterling was at 18. Amazing talent that we have to get no matter the cost.

If we overpay. Same as any other right winger who you class as unavailable. If we present the right figures, they are available
Can you name a few who don't play for Liverpool, Man City, PsG etc?

A lot of people watched him for the first time last night it seems

He seemed understandably nervous, his control let him down a few times. That's rarely ever a problem for Dortmund.

A martial style deal should be okay though with same money or little higher. If papers say 70 m than we can say it's even lesser or this figures includes addones.

True. It may be hard to estimate Sancho's ceiling though, so only time can tell whether the required fee would amount to overpaying. If we pay say 130m but he goes on to have a great career at United, nobody would care. Conversely, he might cost only 80m and flop.

This thread will be at 150+ by the end of August as nothing remotely happens but each tabloid builds it up for the summer.
Come September 1 he’s still at Dortmund.

Who’s with me?

Up until a few weeks ago, I wasn't too sure about this transfer because I wasn't sure it made sense for him to move this summer. If he's confident he'll play and he can handle it, I see no reason to wait .
Apart from him, options are limited.

Sterlings first goal is exactly why we need him.

He keeps the width, times his run brilliantly and puts it on a plate for the other wide man. We don't have anybody that can do that.

Why wouldnt PSG sell us a right winger if we stumped up enough cash? They gave Spurs Lucas Moura

Dortmund dont need to sell him anymore than PSG need to sell a player. In fact with FFP PSG probably have more of a need to sell

And he might cost £100 million, get injured in a month of his debut and never be the same player again. Alternatively this is a very good season and he never repeats it.

The £80 million mark sounds about right to me.

People are forgetting one important thing. Dortmund don't pay their players anywhere near as much as we do. Not only would he be joining a bigger club in his own country and playing alongside his mates (Rashford, Gomes) He'd probably double or even treble his wages. Of course he's going to be interested.

Sancho Martial Rashford Greenwood = Glory years coming back.

I am. He would be a fool to leave Dortmund in the summer. He is young, the Euros are coming up the following summer. He need stability to establish himself
