Finally watched the Dortmund-Leverkusen game. Sancho is great. As a bettor I think he'd immediately be #2 behind De Bruyne for likeliest player to lead the Prem in assists, even ahead of Alexander-Arnold and then probably Maddison #4 if they sign a proper goalscoring wide forward type to give him another target. Just splash the cash and retain some of the budget from selling three or four defenders as we have seven of them.

I dont understand why people believe he is only going to join Manutd if we get Champions League. He is 19 year old and joining Manchester United wont be a bad deal for him even if we dont get Champions League next season. To get us competing again is why we are buying him and if he is of right mentality then he would relish the chance. And to be honest, with the bold decisions he has made in past, it looks likely that he is not going to hesitate in taking another chance. Its not like if he joins United, he would never play champions league football. If we are not qualifying for Champions League with Pogba,Sancho, Rashford and Martial, then i dont think they can complain about it.

Don't think there are any real sporting obstacles to us signing him. Don't think think him being part of an attacking quartet competing for three spots is the kind of barrier some people here say it is, when weighed against the prospect of working with Klopp and playing in what is presently the best team in the world. He'll get loads of games.

Don't think that is the kind of logic that will ever factor into considerations, tbh, and if it is, it surely is a point against joining united. Unless he gets the release clause after three years that Haaland wasn't getting. Pogba hasn't exactly found it easy to get out after three years.
When you can pick and choose from top of clubs, you aren't going to be thinking "what's the worst that can happen anyway?" you're looking at the upsides they can offer.
Of course Liverpool have a chance, but I do think Werner is the bigger priority and he will cost at least 50M. Can't see them getting both in one window.

There's very few players I'd say that about but Sancho is one of them. The right player for the right position at the right time. He'd be worth every penny.

He’s over achieving now with the squad he’s had, I can’t see us not giving Ole another year no matter who we sign.
ole has us competing for the champions league place without a specialist striker or a working midfield and let’s not forget his record against the best teams is incredible.

Contrary to the constant ‘are you saying Liverpool have world class talent in midfield?’ question that is constantly posed as some sort of reason we should be happy to have average talent in midfield - it’s the most obvious area for improvement in their team. Klopp doesn’t have an average midfield by design, he is doing well in spite of that. The plan isn’t for them, or us, to deliberately have CMs with little talent. This is why they tried and failed to get Fekir, and spent big money on Keita.
Yeah... your arguement got ruined right there. He isn't achieving anything currently apart from taking us in a downward spiral. He had good start, but that's it.

I think some of those obstacles you mentioned are pretty big. Firmino is the one player in the front three where I think there is room for improvement and Sancho wouldn't help in that regard, whereas someone like Werner potentially could.
From Sancho's point of view, he clearly wants to play regularly, so potentially being in and out of the team for Mane or Salah is not going to appeal to him. Just as him signing for PSG with Mbappe and Neymar as starters would be unattractive.
Then from Liverpool's perspective, signing a player for £100m+ to not even be a guaranteed starter in your biggest games just seems crazy. You can improve your midfield, get back up full backs or get a better centre back or look for options to rotate with Firmino.
Barca are the only team to have done this and it's backfired miserably so far with Coutinho, Dembele and even Griezman it just doesn't seem like sensible business for player or club.
I only see us buying him if Dortmund and his agent get their pockets lined with enough cash to make us his only option this summer.
