Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Liverpool will have extra cash from getting to two CL finals and maybe another deep run this year. Quick searching it's 80-100m euro per year.

They will have to break their wage structure if they stay or want to stay at the top one day. Still it's a lot of money and has to play when fit and at liverpool he will probably never get injured.

A Poch project I see can chance with or other manager. He's still very young and if no good options come, staying at Dortmund for another year could see many more opportunities.

What I mean is players we looked nailed on to sign, after months of endless speculation, only for the player to choose another club, even though all the papers were saying they are probably coming to Utd - Fabregas, Bale, Erling, Kroos etc

I would me more worried about the "attitude" problem. If we go the Sancho way, then I would like us to also target a veteran, someone that will have a natural authority and has seen everything because our current team is extremely young, only Pogba and De Gea have really experienced success.

That doesn't alter anything I said in my post. Both clubs are after bigger fish than Sancho from the outset, him being prepared to wait in the wings for those scenarios to play out really remains to be seen, that too, if they get what they want, spending on Sancho would be extremely difficult for either of them.

There isn’t even so much as a made up quote in that article. Conversely there’s some who believe our next shirt deal will again be record breaking.
 
Both clubs being after bigger fish doesn't alter the fact that PSG won't just bow down to their demands. Nasser El Khelafi is a very powerful and wealthy man and I woudn't be surprised if he managed to hold onto Mbappe.

El Khelaifi doesn't own PSG, his wealth is irrelevant. QSI does though and they are indeed wealthy.
 
I can see Sancho going to Liverpool.

Salah, Mane and Firmino are a formidable front three, but Liverpool won't stand still and get complacent, or let them all drift towards 30 without acting.

Klopp's not stupid. He knows that frontline will need zhooshing up and I can see that being very soon, particularly with the Olympics and African Cup of Nations being a factor next season.

Also, just a hunch, but I can see them cashing in on Salah within the next 18 months if he doesn't have another extraordinary season like his first.

You talked about his wealth in the context of rejecting an offer which is irrelevant. It's a bit like talking about Woodward's wealth in the context of United transfer dealings, that's irrelevant.

Of course, we're Manchester United, after all. Very few players are out of our reach even now, when we are at our worst in the last 30 years or so.

But we'll be back up there as soon as we make it back into the CL and get a manager that players want to work with.

I talked about his wealth in context of him being very close to the head of the sovereign fund Sheikh Tamim who has put El Khelafi in charge of overseeing the project at PSG. With that sort of backing he does have the wealth behind him to put himself in a very strong position which was my point.

Okay, that's a bit far fetched. PSG are owned by Qatar(QIA through QSI), so it would have made more sense to simply say that Qatar are wealthy.

Exactly, we have identified problems, the players who we sign will not just sign for next season they will be tasked to bring Manutd back, look at Liverpool team and the way they being talked about.

Signing for Manutd is a big pull, we still want to win titles, pay the top bucks, huge fan base.

It's certainly possible and there's an obvious allure to going there, but there's also plenty of reasons not to. His development at a key time could be stunted by not being first choice outside the ACoN. He'll get paid less as well as there being a lower ceiling on it there. There's also a question over whether Klopp will be that bothered about looking to the future when he's already talked about leaving in a few years. On top of that he's been very cautious about stirring things up and potentially ruining the dynamic. Maybe that'll change once they've won the league though.
 
Sancho is too good to go to Liverpool and not be a guaranteed starter, and I don't see Klopp changing the formation, nor do I see him wanting to drop any of Salah, Mane or Firmino.

It's fine to remain skeptical but we have the £ to convince most players. Sancho rumors were very hot at this time last year but before the close of season, it was announced he wasn't going to switch club. How much of that was due to us missing out on CL remains to be seen. Odds on us making the CL are even slimmer this time round.

I think Pogba will leave regardless of how 'sexy' the new manager is, and I reckon we should cash in on him too. I rate Pogba but there's always so much drama surrounding him, accentuated by the British media that we're better off investing his transfer fee on 2 first-team signings.

He only goes there if they're deciding to cash in on one of Salah/Mane this summer.

I still think it would be hell of a coup, I can imagine plenty of big boys will be interested in him this summer. A good Euros can potentially make the deal even harder.
 
Liverpool are setting their stall out for Werner.

Seems pretty key that all the journalists they usually leak too are saying it's "very unlikely" that they'll go for Sancho.

It seems the press are just linking Sancho with Liverpool due to Klopp+BVB relationship. I'm feeling very confident on this - it seems we've been chasing Sancho for a long time and wanted him big time before he even joined Dortmund, but City wouldn't sell. Let's not forget all the talk about him joining last summer too.
 
I do agree with Shaun Wright Phillips in the vid below that under Ole we probably won't sign Sancho. My personal thoughts are that Poch will be the deciding factor and how he puts forth the long-term plan to Sancho will ultimately make up the players mind.

Years of dominance. Laughable how people still say it .

We thought the same thing when Jose rejoined Chelsea and won the PL. We thought the same thing when Pep won 2 times in a row. Fact is, No one will dominate the league going forward. They may win one more PL but by then City and us would have caught up along Chelsea, Wolves,Arsenal and other cash clubs.
 
I know it’s been said tons of times but I just can’t see any other outcome here other than us chasing him all summer only for him to not come and us be screwed. I’m just hoping whoever is lucky enough to get him (possibly us obviously) gets it wrapped up soon.
