Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

he is the perfect forward/rw we can get. Just imagina, Martial Rashford Sancho next year..

Just looked on twitter and I would swear it was a leak from Woodward or someone at United saying that we are going to go for Sancho, is it from trustworthy sources? I have looked back in this thread to see

Custis and Ducker are fairly reliable and part of the Manchester press pack. Even if certain posters consider them to be crap I disagree.

I don't doubt that we're interested. Sancho belongs in the category of young, English talent we attracted under Ferguson and it would be remiss of us to ignore him.

If we slap down big money we might have a chance, but I think one of Zorc/Watzke said something about not continuing to lose players, and obviously Pulisic is already out the door.

Reminds me of Hazard a lot. The body swerves, short burst acceleration, quick feet, almost impossible to tackle. Splash the cash Woody!
That's actually a very good comparison. I was struggling to find a player he's like, and a right sided Hazard is as close as they come.

This really is the perfect signing. And when given we under spent last season, we should have additional cash to burn this summer so should leave enough to spend elsewhere too.

Is it true the guy that broke the Mirror article interviewed him the week earlier?
Feel PSG are being us jack up the price.

What’s this Rabiot business? Have we been linked, or are you just fitting him into the transfer budget because he’ll be free?
Yeah, we've been linked. He's heading for a free transfer. We aren't the only ones linked though as you'd imagine.

Sancho, De Ligt/Koulibaly and Rabiot would be a sensational summer’s work. If we offload some forwards I’d also like to see Joshua King brought back.
If lukaku left in the summer then king would make a lot of sense as a second string forward for a comparatively reasonable fee. Not sure ole will want to lose lukaku though.

Sancho playing with Rashford and Martial / Pogba? And sometimes Lingard too? I have the feeling that will help tremendously England as well. United should be where the best English players play after all.

Offer 80 million plus Mason Greenwood on loan for a season! Let them turn him into a star too ;)

This guy and De Ligt in one summer would be a dream. Add Ruben Neves and Wan-Bissaka and I'm having a stroke.
I’d over the moon if we bought just Sancho and De Ligt. If we bought a DM, I’d *** into next year.

That’s my dream summer too. Sancho, De Ligt, Neves, Wan Bissaka, and some obscure Brazilian teenage prodigy as the surprise package.

That's probably over £300m spent, if we did something like that we'd definitely be back in business, just can't see it happening.

Agreed it’s too much to be realistic, but if we could ship out Fred, Bailly, Sanchez, Mata, Darmian, and Rojo we could feasibly/reasonably recoup 100m+ and save a fortune on wages.

Just imagine lining up with the following team, and how long you could keep the core of that team together:

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka - De Ligt - Lindelof - Shaw

Neves

Herrera - - - Pogba

Sancho - - - Rashford - - - Martial

Subs: Romero, Dalot, Smalling, Matic, Pereira, Lingard, Lukaku
Reserves: Grant, Young, Jones, Mctominay, Garner, Gomes, Chong, Greenwood.

That’s a deep, quality, and young squad. 9 academy graduates in the 26. 7 more homegrown players (so 16 HG players in total), and another 6 players signed as teenagers or very young. Would be one of my favourite Utd squads ever. No less than 13 players from the home countries (12 English).

Fred 30-35m
Sanchez 10m (come on China!)
Mata 10m
Darmian 10-12M
Rojo 10-12M
Bailly 25-30M

That’s 95-109m. And I think those prices are realistic but conservative. We also already got 10M for Fellaini, and Valencia’s wages will be off the books.

Why should they waste their time developing Greenwood for no financial gain?

If he's as talented as we all think then he'll have a Sancho like season and do really well for them! Remember they took Adnan on loan- he just wasn't up to it!

Think it would make lot of sense from financial stand point as well. Toby for 25m, Meunier for 35-40, Rabiot for free and Pellegrini for 25m means, we still got money for a big signing.

Should be available for 75- 80m range.
Not a hope we'd get Sancho for anything less than £100m. They'd want something comparable to Dembele money.

We need this kid this summer. And not just cause he is the flavour of the month but because we haven't owned a player who is a right wingers since fecking Nani.

We cannot go another season without one.

Even Sancho was introduced gradually. Greenwood is not going there and having an instant impact .

Would love Sancho at Utd, ideally also Icardi, Rabiot and a defender should see us pretty much set.

There’s some real pie in the sky ideas how how many players and much money we’re to going to spend in the summer.

Anyone would get a stroke if Glazers spent 300m in one window
I think we'll definitely cross 200 million. By all accounts we underspend last season due to issues behind the scenes otherwise another 60-70 million (minimum) would have been spent had the management agreed on the 'right'. So if 140/150 is a standard window now for us, I see us spending over 200 this summer.

Of course much depends on Ole, how close he feels we are, how much he wants to promote/rely on youth, and whether he's able to/wants to get rid of underperforming players.

Hope he signs, I know his dads best mate. Said he’d get me all the tickets I want

I'll remember those words...;)
My point is Dortmund would only be interested in taking Greenwood permanently. Of course they might entertain a buy-back. However, sending him on loan would be very risky cause Dortmund don't have time to be developing players for us.

The Minimum we can get away with buying his 3 starters ideally we need 4 to ensure Ashley young never plays.

Right Wing and Centre Back are compulsory. No chance without them next season.

Then ideally we need both a right back and centre midfield although it is probably likely we get one or the other.

This summer it is truly time to go big or go home.

Why is everyone saying De Ligt over Koulibaly in this thread? Have we been heavily linked recently?

Another thing is De Lift plays on the right side of CB. Think our priority is a left sides CB.

Lindelöf already plays as a left centre back though even though he is rigt footed. I wouldn't let something like this stop me from signing the best young defender on the market

I thought too that Dortmund might want Greenwood. Not on loan though. Why would they develop a youngster for a season? Doesn't make sense.

It's amaizing how much people do underestimate Dortmund. They'll do everything to keep Sancho or will invite competition for him and drive the price above his market value. Wishful thinking gets the better off the transfer muppets on here.

Agreed, Lindelof is our RCB. Koulibaly compliments him well.

Haven’t seen us being linked with De Ligt at all.

Unless we have some great plans for Garner and plan to fast track him for next season, we need a new DM.

All young with great potential and hungry for success.

I think we might as well need to, in order to catch up with the likes of Barcelona, City and PSG.

He plays there cause the others are bobbins in that position and hes currently our best CB. I think we'd rather play him in his best position and get someone on the other side. I've also not seen anything linking us to De Lift.

The question is do we want to catch up? As in our owners. I don't think so.

Also our fans let them off too easy. Every summer there is an excuse for not doing enough business

I have a feeling this will be like when we signed Rooney if we do get him. It's one to get all muppet like about too

Offtopic but, people go way to far with this LCB, RCB stuff. If you have a left footed CB that is a great play him as the LCB but, if you have two right footed CBs or two left footed CBs it will not matter much who plays on which side.

I agree, but with Scott being given more game time nad the sheer amount those two would cost to get in, I very much doubt we would be able to get a DM as well.
