I think Dortmund will find a replacement quite quickly. They seem relatively on the ball in that sense. They probably have some kid already lined up as Haaland's replacement already, plus with a potential big fee heading their way you'll be surprised (or not) at how quickly deals can happen.

You can only apply brinksmanship if you are truly willing to walk away. As I wrote in my post above, the fact that we can still sign Brooks or Sarr after the European window closes, means we have that option. I dont think its 100%, but Dortmund know they could miss out on the best offer they will ever get. And its easy to talk in theory of rejecting bids, but under brinksmanship, are you really going to turn down +-£85m???
(I think transfer market will be very tough next summer as all clubs will be skint or wont be able to justify within FFP. Just cos City got let off on a technicality last time doesn't mean they can flaunt it again in future)
Has anything that has happened in this window or the last few windows given you that confidence? Because as far as I can see we feck up everything one way or another. Hell even if we get him, we got him 2 months later than we should have (especially if we're paying similar money).

Unlike your average fan, Mitten has solid and trusted contacts within the club and the city, which isn't true for the newspaper journo's. And its such a length relationship and he is a lifelong fan too, so he gets the context. And I trust him because he always tells you whether he is offering his opinion vs journalistic and sourced facts. He rarely speculates for the sake of sensationalism or just to get clicks.
Im often amazed at how Redcafe has become so efficient and comprehensive at aggregating information sources on every aspect of the clubs existence. Most United fans are not as obsessed as heavy redcafe posters, so a redcafe posters knowledge will be quite profound vs your normal punter. I think we forget how just how much we know now and how little we knew before.
