Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Because Dortmund put an asking price with a deadline of August 10th that was pretty well known for a while. He has 3 years on his contract, he's going to go for a lot whether it is this summer or next so for them, they don't see it as a rush if its not on their terms (plus with the player not pushing to leave).

The 10th of August thing is absolute bobbins, imagine still going on about it like it means anything whatsoever.

Is it? I wouldnt believe some of the blame game from Germany anyway, look at Auba
its different in the sense that by then selling the players after their tantrums, the player gets the brunt of the blame. To voluntarily sell Sancho now after all the insisting he is staying this season, without the player even kicking a fuss, would be disastrous for the board

So let me get this straight, the valuation that we have is lower than what Dortmund want, yet we still seem to think the deal is on and that it has legs, like we somehow have Dortmund backed into a corner? Dortmund have absolutely no backs against the wall and are holding all the cards, why the hell do they have to even entertain a lower estimate, he's THEIR player with the likelihood they get even more for him next year, transfers don't work in that the buying club just pays what THEY value the player at, if this is legitimately true we've got some of the dumbest people on planet earth, who think that just because they've successfully negotiated the sponsoring of noodles and bottles of wine that they are incredibly intelligent when it comes to this.

Seriously, jog on Woodward and Judge, fooling nobody, smarter than nobody, excuses, briefs, just shut your damn mouths and do what needs to be done, or leave, god I cannot stand these parasites. I have a genuine deep seated hatred for these people, and I don't even know them personally, but i've genuinely never hated people this much in my entire life.

The only people this deal is still alive for is the bs reporters/journalists that trying to get more viewers, subscribers, followers etc..

We wouldn't still all be here with most journalists and the club thinking the deal could still happen if it was a genuine deadline. It wasn't, we give them the money they want, the player moves.

Well by what Cooper said earlier we aren't willing to give them £108m for him, rumours suggest its more like the £90-£95m mark

The deal has a life of it’s own. It’s sentient.
It’s probably thinking feck off Woody and Judge

You’d think we would have offered the lower price earlier in the window and left it there to stand until the window closes. Leave the ball in their court instead of testing their resolve through the media. We’ve fecked this transfer up. Sky sports news know nothing.

If we paid our deadwood the wages they deserve rather than what they actually earn we'd have sold most of them by now and could easily afford Sancho. Again it comes down to the incompetence of Woodward.

Romero, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Jesse, Mata, Pereira etc should all be off the books now in one way or another.

Does Sancho prefer the left or right? Greenwood is strong on either side when shooting so I doubt he cares much. I think the only reason he is alway son the right is due to Rashford preferring the left and being stronger on the left. Rashford has not impressed much when playing on the right. When Sanchez was signed he was pushed to the right along with Martial.
The beauty of Sancho is he genuinely doesn’t look weaker on the left or the right. He uses his attributes depending on the situation he is up against. When he’s on the left he loves to cut inside and get his shots off or do fast one twos before cutting inside. When he plays from the right, he’s very confident in his ability to beat a man around the outside and get the ball across the goal or even play one twos and go around the outside. This is why he is so dangerous. He doesn’t really have a weak position anywhere along the front line.

We're deffo making a bid before the deadline. Whether that bid will be accepted it what it hinges on. Or how much they want the money

Sounds good but still not convinced he will ever grace Old Trafford in a Utd shirt, however would love nothing more than to be proved completely wrong on that

Chelsea didn't get 143 up front for Hazard. They got 40 odd million last summer, 60 odd this summer and the remaining next summer.
Not to derail the thread but do you think Chelsea are paying the full amount upfront for their purchases?

Once it’s sat in an envelope on your desk, it will take very big German bollocks not to cash a cheque worth £85m (on a £10m investment)

Fresh fruit today or jam tomorrow? (jam also likely to become sour wine)

Since those giddy days of ‘will we get Thiago’ you seem to have lost your confidence

Your right now there is a good chance we never get him if we don't get him this year but that's because if we have a poor transfer window and s poor season he will sign for one of our rivals that are better run than us.

Has he ever played an extended period at no 9 or no 10?

But in every way he is worth more than that so I'd say that a good reason to not take it.

If we somehow sign him for £90 million total in the last week, I will take back everything I said about this shambles of a transfer window.

Fingers crossed.

I certainly think Liverpool will be in the market for a big signing, PSG will look to replace Mbappe as he's desperate to leave, Chelsea have shown a willingness to invest heavily and were previously interested. This summer is our best chance by far.
But remember there will probably be a season mostly without fans.

People having big expectations of lots of huge money signings next summer must be living under a bloody rock, it's far more likely it'll be worse than this years window.

He’s worth what we are prepared to pay, or they roll the dice and knowing they might be drinking sour wine.

when we sold Ronaldo to Madrid for £80m all upfront, we thought we’d got a good deal. Even though it seems now we were shortchanged I don’t think anyone is looking back and regretful.

if they sell at our valuation, they’ll never know what might have happened next year.

Decisions decisions.

one of the timeless rules of negotiation is that it’s very difficult to turn down cash once it’s on the table.

Yeah that's not how that works. That's like saying if we show up with 50 mil that's how much he is worth.

A lot worse players have sold for more or similar to that 85 million. One of them is our captain.

So many posts proclaiming this club or that club will be in for him next year ... why aren’t they bidding now???
And where will they get his money from in next 12 months??
I’ve yet to get a fact based answer.

Don't see it happening, a token bid trying to appease fans.

If we'd bought a partner for Maguire this summer then Id be reasonably happy with that but it looks like we're not going to improve our first 11 this summer. Telles will probably come in along with a loan signing up front so along with VDB we'll have improved the depth of our squad.

No. It’s saying we have done an analysis on what the tipping point price is, and makIng that bid.

Depending on BVB finances (which I’m sure Woodward knows inside out) there is a price much lower than £108m that BVB board will feel compelled to accept, as it would be financially reckless not to.

Also Leicester financial position wasn’t in such a dangerous position as BVB’s might be this summer. Plus Maguire has England’s caps, proven PL experience etc. But yeah we overpaid abit because we needed him and could afford to. Not sure we can afford this time.
