Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Why does Stone’s latest update matter? I thought Dortmund already said they weren’t selling at the start of the window.
It's nothing new but there's been a bit of a meltdown over him playing a cup match and the club seemingly saying they won't bow to Dortmund’s demands despite us doing just that more often than not in recent years for lesser players

Kehl just reiterated that nothing changed from their August 10th statements during a pre match interview.

I still believe we'll sign him, but I find it very easy to believe the talk we nearly had a deal done in July but we fecked it up, we've got history trying to be too clever, it would be pretty bloody typical of this club under its current leadership.

You might be right man. I’m still keeping the faith though.

The only thing that was keeping me going in the face of how unlikely this seemed was the fact that the club was still sending out positive briefs. Now that those briefs have taken a turn for the negative, I’ve reached the stage of accepting that this isn’t happening. That’s me mentally signing out of this. Hold strong, remaining muppets.

feck it then let’s just get Traore for half the price and invest in a DM and CB too

Not only have Dortmund got Halaand and Bellingham ahead of us, they now holding Sancho. Hopefully we draw them in CL and kick the shi* out of them.

Him playing tonight doesn’t mean anything. I don’t think we will sign him, but still.

Didn't even think of that, we're bound to draw them aren't we?

Oh well AWB masterclass.

If he gets injured and ruled out for the season Dortmund will go into meltdown  :wenger::lol:

Highly doubt Wolves would bin him for cheap at all  , they'll know we're desperate and Premier League clubs have never been known to do us a solid on transfer fees anywhere near the same way German clubs fall over themselves to bless their Big Daddy Bayern with their best talent for cheap

Not like they need money either

It's so obvious we'll live to regret this, he'll go to someone else (probably in the PL) and become the best player in the league and we'll be watching enviously just like Hazard

Still a long way to go in the window. Could go either way but the club will be aware how incompetent they’ll look if they don’t get it done and you can bet Ole is pressuring Ed to find a solution. Dortmund are a huge irritant but all we have to do is pay up.

Still not giving up on this one yet. Theres still a while to go until the window closes, and things can change in minutes if they really wanted the deal done.

Why should they? He still has a contract until 2023 and will probably be even more expensive, once Covid is over.

I actually don't believe we will sign him this summer anymore. Not with everyone of Dortmund's board (Watzke, Kehl) calmly stating that he'll surely play for them this season and not since he's actually playing this cup game.

The incompetence is beyond belief! Not getting this deal over the line with literally NO competition has to be the last straw for this useless ownership.

Unfortunately has all the hallmarks of Hazard 2.0 if it doesn't happen

Why spend the time to get personal terms agreed when you don't submit a bid? Makes no sense

To think we willingly spent 80 fecking million on Maguire but would refuse to spend 30 more on a player who has the potential to be the best player in the league.

I also think we’d have already had this done if Covid wasn’t a thing. You can just tell the Glazers are very risk adverse and committing such huge numbers to a player scares the life out of them. God forbid they let the club spend it’s own money.

If the virus hit six months earlier we would've saved 80 million

He left out the 2nd part of his quote...

So basically nothing new in terms of a bid even being made yet...

It'll only be dead for me if they actually do receive and reject a bid, everything else is still posturing
