What. The. feck.

If seen some misspellings in my time but holy shit.
In fairness they only added 1 letter, you're much further from "I've".

I can't say I'm shocked that Sancho isn't doing that well at Dortmund, I didn't expect a lot more from such a limited player who hasn't trained properly in ages. We have to hope that he's willing to take a move to Saudi Arabia otherwise he's going to be stuck on the bench for us again next season.

Deary me, I was expecting Sancho getting an assist, a goal, putting in a 10 out of 10 performance or whatever.
Instead I got stats thrown in my face that he's doing crap at Dortmund.

This guy will be back at United next season won't he? :wenger:

Was his original Dortmund form just a sustained purple patch akin to Lingard at West Ham or something? It’s so weird.

Yes.

Lingard would have probably done similar numbers at Dortmund during his best seasons (Cup final version or West Ham version). Maybe more goals and fewer assists than Sancho.

The irony, I even double checked it to make sure I wouldn’t have any egg on my face

Ahwell

He’s just not a very good player. Even Mkhitaryan was better.

As of right now, Mkhi is a better player at 35 than Sancho is at 23.

He's one of the first names on Inter's teamsheet as they're running away with Serie A.

Note to self: don't do business with someone who has the simpsons tattoeed on their arm. It's a sign of a wrongun.

And to think there was lads who thought he was being hard done by, by ETH

Just a more expensive version of Lindgard in the end.

That argument was always ridiculous. It required ignoring that he'd played no better for Ole, Ragnick or Southgate.

4 years of excellent performance (except some form dips) is more than a purple patch.

It must be a mentality thing. He's had no serious injuries as far as I know. That time EtH gave him a break suggests that there is something going on in his head.

At the top level if you're not obsessed with Football you'll get found out. Sleep, recovery, nutrition and training should take up almost all of your time. Unfortunately for Sancho he has other priorities.

The fact that we chased him for so long and still didn’t figure out his mentality issues is quite amazing. He wasn’t some kid who hadn’t been in the spotlight who would have been a bigger challenge to gauge. I know he had positives at that time to outweigh the negatives but a well run club would have been perceptive to these red flags.

Our board couldn’t even assess one of our own when we have had the player for years (Phil Jones) and still decided to give him a new contract extension so I can certainly understand how we have failed to assess anyone that hasn't played for us.

Let’s hope we make some big decisions particularly the outgoings that will make a statement of intent.

We won't be able to give him, Van De Beek and Hannibal away in the summer after their loans.

There wasn’t 4 years. It was so clear that he reached his celing years before and his performence was going down. For those who watched Bundesliga. Don’t just look at goals and assists. How someone thought it was good idea to buy him I will never understand.

When he got that contract he fell apart. Money turned his head even more. There was no more will to do anything. Star in his head. Poor or average on pitch. Just like Pogba, Lingard, Henderson and so on.

Literally no one said he had reached his ceiling before he joined us. Its very easy to be coming out with that sort of statement after the fact. The club should have picked up on his attitude issues bit that doesn't alter the fact he was one of the highest rated young players in Europe before he joined

Seriously! You are putting Pogba in the same category as this player??? I also think Lingard would be pissed with this too! Anyway don’t want to digress here into another topic and also hindsight is great thing for some our fans these days.

I remember saying many times over when he was still at Dortmund that he never had any cutting edge that would suggest he'd be good enough at a top pl club.

You can stand out being a tidy/skillful forward in the Bundesliga if you're in the right set up and the confidence is there. In the PL that just makes you mince meat for every opponent. If you're not exceptionally strong physically you need cutting edge, lightning pace, grittyness, directness, being a disgustingly bad cheat....something to make you useful/dangerous in the 90% of games where controlling and passing the ball nicely isn't going to achieve anything.

Garnacho has that despite probably not being technically as good as Sancho. Every decent PL forward has it. Sancho's never shown it. He never showed it before we signed him and he never did anything to suggest he'd find it since.

Now he's bsck at Dortmund but their team has moved on from him and it can't be as easy to just slot back in after 2 and a half years of being in a completely different environment and realising you can't hack it/not caring enough to try (who knows which it is really).

I put most blame on the club really. We didn't need him when we signed him it was just born out of listening to the transfer muppetry. Maybe if a pl club signed him when he was actually a type and style of player they needed, he might have fared a bit better. We signed him and immediately couldn't even work out where or how to fit him in the team

I say to you that he reached his ceiling. It was so obvious. I don't care about what media or some "experts" say because I know how it works with contacts and friends. People need to go from goals and assits and look at bigger picture. Never buy a player that media tells you do do. Never buy a player that has more active social media than what he shows on football pitch.

This guy might be done on "high" level. Not that he is there. Next stop could be some teams in middle east, asia or "bigger" teams in less quality leagues in Europe. Like Fenerbahce, Braga, Nice and so on.

Same category. Different shades on quality but same poor, average level.

You say now in hindsight, did you say that on here before he joined us?

Wasn’t too long ago fans were frothing at signing Sancho. Still shocked at how poor he turned out to be at playing football. Must have been one hell of a purple patch at Dortmund or perhaps he is going through some form of mental depression which would be terrible for him if the case.

Guarantee a 21 year old £300k a week for 5 years and ask him nicely to stay hungry.

Too much too young, and he's not the only one.

What ability are we talking about here? He has shown nothing at United to even talk about it.

And this mentality thing is overplayed. If you're good you're good, and he's just a nothing player.

Aye, he's simply just not a very good footballer.

Looks like he'll be stuck here for the forseeable and then leave on a free. Hopefully those that had any involvement in this transfer are no longer working for the club.

This.

The talent is there. But he just believes his own hype. Lazy beyond comprehension.

Ironically he prefers to spend hours playing with himself on fifa than spending actual time performing extra practise or even going to bed early so he can arrive at training on time.

Nah, mentality is huge. Natural talent will only ever get a player so far and being 100% focussed on being as good as possible will get a not very good player a long way.

Dortmund has experienced how shit he had become.... which means he'd return :nervous: it was probably better to not let them experience shit Sancho and sell to hem at a discounted price... like Kagawa

Hope he hits a decent run of form so that we can offload him for some money because saving that, he will likely have to leave for free because of his astronomical wages.

Not sure why people question his talent/ability, obviously an insanely talented player.

He just doesn’t have the drive to keep going, and when you lose that drive there’s just no way you’ll be performing at a high enough level in a competitive league.

Haaland has obviously taken things to the extreme, but he’s hell bent on doing whatever he can off the pitch to make sure that there’s nothing holding him back on the pitch, it’s an obsession. Sancho is in the complete opposite end of that scale

This is where I have some sympathy for him. He's made it. He's won the lotto with us.

Such incompetence from us.
