The signs were there. True world class players always shine in their NTs. He was mediocre for England even in his best seasons.
Is there any example where this has actually worked? in rugby for example, they all just feck off to France. It's just too much. The introduction of salary caps is needed.
Lingard scored a fa cup final winner, in the league cup final and community shield. And to think there was lads who thought he was being hard done by, by ETH
Just a more expensive version of Lindgard in the end.
Pure lies.
First, Lingard has never been as talented as Sancho. Second, Bundesliga has never been a farmerlls league. Third, Sancho was as good in Europe as he was domestically. How can a hlypothetical be pure lies?
Lingard would have torn up the farmers league during that season he had 20g+a under Mourinho. 20g+a in the Prem is equivalent to 40 in the Bundesliga. As so many players have proven.
Lingard was being compared to Sancho as a player. Not based on how they fared for us. Right now compared to Sancho with us, Lingard was Messi.Lingard was good for a solid two years and , as mentioned above, had a influential effect on big games.
He wasn't the worlds best player, obviously, but he was good player. He's become a abit of a joke with the fanbase, some of it arguably down to himself.
But he was a bigger success here compared to Sancho.
Not sure why people question his talent/ability, obviously an insanely talented player.
He just doesn’t have the drive to keep going, and when you lose that drive there’s just no way you’ll be performing at a high enough level in a competitive league.
Haaland has obviously taken things to the extreme, but he’s hell bent on doing whatever he can off the pitch to make sure that there’s nothing holding him back on the pitch, it’s an obsession. Sancho is in the complete opposite end of that scale
have not seen anything to suggest that he is anywhere near that. Genuinely speaking, I watched him over and over at united and I still do not know what he is good at.
Brought it all on himself unfortunately.Sad really that now it looks like there is a proper goal scorer in our ranks that will make the runs someone like a Sancho would try to find.
A winger with no pace is like a goalkeeper with no arms….. irrelevan!Weird take, but the main problem is obviously that he’s failed to perform anywhere near the levels he displayed at Dortmund, so not sure how much it helps waching him over and over at United when we know he’s been a failure..I think some are being overly harsh on him based on how his career has panned out, he’s got a great technique, lovely weighted passes and a great vision. His physical problem is that he doesn’t have the outright pace or acceleration to take advantage, and at United he was too often isolated on his own where you depend on teammates making themselves available. He’s a combinations player and unselfish, obviously there‘s more too it, but the Premier League is a much more difficult league where you’ll get less time on the ball, in which case you really need to be a part of a team that plays to your strengths.
My first thought when we bought Højlund was that we’d finally play someone up front that would be suited to Sancho’s strengths, because in terms of pure ability i don‘t think there’s anyone better in our squad to pick out the runs that Højlund is making.
The fact that we chased him for so long and still didn’t figure out his mentality issues is quite amazing. He wasn’t some kid who hadn’t been in the spotlight who would have been a bigger challenge to gauge. I know he had positives at that time to outweigh the negatives but a well run club would have been perceptive to these red flags.
I say to you that he reached his ceiling. It was so obvious. I don't care about what media or some "experts" say because I know how it works with contacts and friends. People need to go from goals and assits and look at bigger picture. Never buy a player that media tells you do do. Never buy a player that has more active social media than what he shows on football pitch.

This.
The talent is there. But he just believes his own hype. Lazy beyond comprehension.
Just like scholes and andy cole right? The signs were there. True world class players always shine in their NTs. He was mediocre for England even in his best seasons.

i do not follow the bundesliga, so didn’t really see his game there. I know the numbers were good, but like you said, that was a less difficult league. Yes, where I watched him was at united and that was not a pleasant experience. Disappointed as i wanted him to succeed, really cant say i saw any indication of that unfortunately. What i saw was poor dribbling, poor crossing and lack of speed which is probably a prerequisite for a modern winger.
We’re all watching this from our armchairs but it does seem as though Sancho has not only a mentality problem, but a mental health problem. Recall that he was given three months off last season and by all accounts he did not suffer a physical injury at the time.
nah he’s just fecking lazy.
Probably because going through his head is the fact that he will no longer be earning mega bucks at Old Trafford doing feck all like the other French mercenary in our squad that's constantly injured.Watching him against PSV tonight, and he is so unbelievably crap. Every counter attack stops with him, because he loses the ball in some weird way. He looks totally off
He'll be grinning every night you'd think. The unthinkable contract we gave him. Has so much money he probably doesn't know what to do with it.But is he playing with a smile on his face?
Yep. This guy has absolutely no interest in being a professional footballer anymore. As I predicted. Road towards leagues in Asia, Middle East or second grade leagues is underway.
If we could get 10m for this guy club should not hesitate.
