This is taking on Wesley Sneijder level transfer drama and the links to United. It's quite remarkable that these journalists and social media personnel continue to regurgitate the same shit each week without actually adding anything new to the saga.

There is no question the talent this kid possesses at such a young age and it would really be foolish on our part to haggle, like we're Daniel Levy, over 10m quid difference in evaluation. You'll make up that money 5 times over in the first two of his contract.

Would be a sight seeing him and rashford on opposite sides with their running at players ability and ffs if you add Grealish to that mix....

Not just that but signing great players always create a pull for others. They're nearly always worth the money.

Now you're teasing me.

If United move Pogba this summer that is going to be the guy that has been rumored to be the main target to replace him. It would make perfect sense to be honest and bloody hell we'd circle back to the days when we were running Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez at teams. The pace and skill level to attack had OT buzzing every week and every time they got the ball on the counter or isolated on the wing. Brilliant time that.

Not just that but signing great players always create a pull for others. They're nearly always worth the money.

That's true in most sports teams because they know at some point they will be competing for trophies. Money is going to be there for these top top players but titles is really what they ultra competitive guys really want. They want to be remembered as champions like charlton, best, ronaldo, scholes, giggs, becks.....players that whether you saw them play, they are names that people will always talk about when referencing United.

Great points. Basically our transfer business is run by amateurs in footballing terms who understand the cost side of player acquisition but don't account for the value side of the players, i.e., maximising the value from a player by things like signing them early before pre-season starts, and completing the squad to maximise the value from all players. For example, Man City identified full backs as a gap and bought 4 in a short period of time. It helped the entire squad win trophies. As opposed to our approach towards CB.
This is spot on. We are run by BTEC football management. Until the whole structure is changed we will be talking about the same thing in 5 years time.

Seeing how bad the team looked last year, why would they do this shit again?

Him and Haaland were really good together in the second half of the season so they've probably got short memories. I think they'd gladly sell though, silly not to really. They aren't going to get the bidding war they want and it only hurts them in the long run

You'd have to think we're trying to get this done before the Euros, at least a fee agreed anyway?

If he has an outstanding Euros, then you just know the fee will skyrocket as per usual

It's more to do with the principle of paying over the odds and then everyone knowing you're happy to pay over the odds.

Imagine you bought a loaf of bread for a £10 because you were desperate, and then the shop keeper told all his mates that's what you're willing to pay? Next thing you know you're paying £10 a pint as well.

Villa would add tens of millions on to the Grealish price if we pay over the odds for Sancho.

I'd like to think they can't change the fee if he has a sensational or just good Euros, unless they plan to scupper the gentlemen's agreement they have with Sancho himself. He's not going to be a happy bunny if they decide to suddenly slap 10-20 million back on top of the fee.

Maybe... but i wouldn't put it past Dortmund to do that though.

Just want to be on record and say its a huge mistake preferring Sancho over Grealish. I hope we dont make it.

I find that mental. He's the best right option in my opinion. But you might well be right because Southgate gonna Southgate
He doesn't play in the premier league so everything he's done these past 3 years is pretty much irrelevant.

I admire both players. If I had to choose between them, I'd take Sancho though because I think he'd be a better fit. To me, Grealish is very much a flair player - and I don't know how we could make that work when we already have Bruno and Pogba. Sancho is more direct and would be a great fit on our right side. He's also younger than Grealish. So while I absolutely love Grealish as a player, going for Sancho makes a ton of sense IMO.

I just can't bring myself to care anymore. I've been desperate for us to sign him since the summer he was rumored to be leaving City. But I just feel numb to any excitement these days. It'd feel like putting a cherry on a cake that is half baked.

Agree, he was last seasons much needed big transfer, and we suffered for not having him, so they can't fob us off with making him this and last summers main transfer.

Sorry Jadon much as you'll improve us, I'm looking at what's beyond you already.

Are you happy with Grealish+Rafina(Leeds) instead of Sancho this summer ?
I’d take Grealish on his own as a Sancho replacement. I’d rather Sancho but I think Grealish is made for United.

All the teams I have seen mates put together for the England team don't have him in. It's very weird.
He's never really done much for England though so it isn't that surprising. If he came here he wouldn't be clear first choice RW over Greenwood either.

After spending 80+mil on him I hope he becomes first team.

Villa would want the same type of money for Grealish that Dortmund will be asking for Sancho so it's more like for like. Rafina would probably be another 35-40m and on top of that you know that Leeds would rather cut off their own nose than sell us another player after Cantona. It would be like Liverpool selling us a player. Not Going to Happen.

Now....if you said this. Grealish brought in to replace Pogba, i'd fcking bite your fingers off for that bloody deal.

No chance, I'm all onboard the Sancho hypetrain :wenger:

Grealish is weird because as great a player as he is, one of Bruno / Rashford has to get dropped if he comes in. Never happening. I don't buy the we need him for depth argument, Rashford / Bruno / Grealish are too good to warm the bench for us. The only team with that kind of luxury is City.
