Jack Wilshere

Bit surprised at this. Can't believe Wenger has the balls to make/let this happen. West Ham would be a good shout if they'll allow a Premier League loan.

Yeah despite his injury problems you'd much rather have him in the squad then El Neny the crab. But if Wilshere is pushing for the loan Wenger might feel he has to allow him to go.

Lol Have you ever even see Elneny play before?

This is a Sky Sports article right?

Because automatically you should discount about 80% of that.

It would be an odd move for both parties too. Arsenal are not short of options in the middle but you know for sure they're gonna have an injury crisis during the season. Wilshere obviously needs game time but as he has shown over the years, he is able to get back to playing on a good level shortly coming back from long term injuries; the problem is staying injury-free.

I'll be really surprised if he goes anywhere.

It's just journalism by numbers logic. Wilshere needs game time, is out of the England squad, hasn't featured for Arsenal = bingo = loan move.

I think somewhere like Hull would be good for him. They need players and he'll be guaranteed to play every game.........until he gets injured again.

About 2 years, too late.

He's finished. Purely down to his injuries and his lifestyle. Him at the Euros was absolutely laughable. He had no business being there

Lampard, in terms of trophies perhaps did yes. Lampard was a class player. Don't rate him as highly as Scholes but, still very very good

Gerrard :D I don't recall Scholes ever costing United a league or putting personal glory before his team.

I think that both of their best seasons are easily comparable to Scholes' best season. Longevity and trophies are another matter though.

Lampard, probably. Gerrard, certainly not. Viera and Keane were never highly complementary about Gerrard. Keane's judgement of him was "Meh, he's good but...."

And they were the standard

It makes sense to me, he's barely played in years and badly needs game time, but he's around 5th-6th in line for Arsenal since they signed Xhaka - and in all honesty, when was Wilshere last good? He's been a future-star for years, but due to injury (and application) has never really delivered. Personally, I'd say Wilshere should be looking at actually moving on permanently, but a loan move makes more sense right now for him and Arsenal.

No.
But feel free to think otherwise. It's been discussed to death already.

Yes it has. On a United forum, where 99% of the opinions are always pro-United and thus biased.

However as a neutral I disagree, and thank you for allowing me to do so.

Well, number 1, perhaps you should go discuss it elsewhere. I really don't see what else you'd expect from the majority on a Manchester United forum. Same on a Chelsea or Liverpool forum.

Number 2. I gave you an honest and unbiased opinion. Lampard certainly got pretty close to Scholes but, Gerrard never did. He can't touch Viera and Keane even

No issue with what you've said Rossi. When you bring Vieira into the mix it makes me realise how biased I am.

Very surprised about this. I thought he was Arsenal for life.

Can see him ending up at a team like City to be honest. They need English squad players.

He is better than the other options so he had every business being there.

What, even though he was injured for an entire season, he deserved to get in ahead of the midfielder who was a vital part of the championship winning team last season?

Seriously? An injured player ahead of a regular starter and premier league winner?

Were Leicester playing at the Euros? No it was England. Was he injured at the Euros? No. Is he better than Drinkwater when he is fit? Yes. Was Drinkwater shit when called up? Yes. Its a simple selection, him being injured during the season means jack shit. He was fit for the summer and is better than Drinkwater.

fecking hell :D

And what did brave little Jack do at the Euros that was better than Drinkwater? In fact, what's he done in the last two years that's better than what Drinkwater has done in his last two years?

Seriously, because I'm fecked if I know. I ask any of the residential Arsenal fans too

Personally, I don't care. It was quite humorous to see Jack and co get found out at the Euros. But that's England's problem. "Nah don't pick the guy in form, who just won a league title. Pick the guy who has done feck all in his career and who has been injured for the majority of it because the media build him up"

He was our best midfielder though. Pretty low bar but he outperformed everyone else. Very guilty of trying to force it at times but you could see that he's leagues ahead of any other crap we put in that midfield.

City do love to pick up some ex-Arsenal players to fill their English quota...

I think he would end up being the best partner for Xhaka if only he can remain fit. IMO he still remains our most talented CM on our books, he just needs to have some continuity in his career.
He needs to save his career by leaving Arsenal's injury riddled training program.

Two of England's biggest bellends both being sent out on loan by their respective clubs this season :D

How the mighty have fallen.

I don't really believe this will happen. But I think it probably should happen.

Wilshere is not a 4-2-3-1 CM anymore in Wenger's eyes. He really hasn't played in that position for Arsenal since 13-14 and Wenger has said directly that he think Wilshere needs to play closer to the goal. So he is really competing for playing time on the wing opposite Alexis, along with Iwobi, Ox, Ramsey, Walcott, and possibly Gnabry. On pure talent, Wilshere is the best player of that bunch and could potentially beat them all out. But he has missed so much time over the last few years that he just isn't good enough at this point to get consistent minutes for Arsenal. A loan makes sense. The only way he'll ever realize his talent is by playing consistently and it won't happen at the Emirates in his current condition.

I'd like to see him go to an upper tier La Liga club like Valencia or Sevilla and see what he could do if he managed to stay healthy all year (haha) in that kind of league.
