No

Just would much rather not waste my time on someone who's only retort seems to be 1. Support another club 2. You haven't watch said player enough(Even when they have no idea what games or league said person follows)

If it was likely to lead to a mature debate I would be bothered. But I am not going to get any here in all honesty.

It is a mature debate, its called giving a player a chance. Especially if said player is deemed suitable by the current manager.

You can be wary, less keen of signing a player and still give him a chance to impress you as a fan if he joins anyway.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Delicate technique, quick feet and an ability to hug the touchline that we have to see since Nani, Robben and Di Maria were playing as classic wingers.

People forget just how good Nani was for us after Ronaldo left. Was one of the best wingers in the league for a couple of seasons. Absolutely nothing wrong with getting another player like that and we desperately need one with the lack of width he have right now

That's exactly what I mean! We needed a typical poacher, we bought a tank-poacher. Good enough. We need a classical winger, too, who can play on the touchline, so I hope we will get Perisic.*

Mourinho is simple. Simple is not always easy to understand.
All those cut-ins from our inside forwards, all those coming-deep from Ibra etc, is not enough. Sometimes it looked like the attack was interrupted with these moves, because they are more complicated. We have to create easier to finish chances, into the 6 yard box or behind the defense. We have to add this type of play in our attack. Perisic and Lukaku will give these choices. Wiht Perisic and Lukaku, we will see simpler goals.

*And finally, let us bye a classical destroyer. If he can shoot and pass, I will be happy.

Think we are missing a natural winger in the team, and he seems to be an effective one. Not the best in the world but he'd improve us quite a bit I think. Especially with how dire our wing play was last season, literally cannot get any worse.

Agree. It's like we bought all the fancy parts to build a house but didn't get the actual foundation. You can have all the nice no 10's, deep lying playmakers and Raudemeters you like but if you don't have the fundamental building blocks of a solid team - like you say the poacher, winger, destroyer - then the rest of the team cannot function as an effective unit and the fancy bits will be pointless. I'm excited to see how the rest of the team improves with these signings I genuinely think they'll have an impact greater than the sum of their parts. The influence on the overall system will be signficant

Mr. Kaveh on SSN said a deal for Perisic is getting closer. I'm slowly warming up to signing him if it means we will have a natural winger on the left side.

Move on, and put in an £80m bid for Sanchez. Think of it as getting Alexis for £30m!

Regardless of Jose / Wegner relationship, an £80m bid would get the attention of the Arsenal board.

Why stop there? Add another arbitrary number (£20m?) and get Neymar. Nah feck it, add another arbitrary number (£45.6m?) and get Messi.

Am I doing it right?

Great news.
Not really “news”. We still don't know what and how Perišić told Spalletti in their talks yesterday or this morning, which may influence the evolution of this deal. He was acting tough, but if the player is firm, they might acknowledge a deal is the best option. It will still cost us more than it should.

Do you not think it's possible that Sanchez can be had for £80m?

He does look a bit like Ashley Young mk.2, another player we bought for an overpriced sum with no resale value. I really hope he turns out better.

Surely his price should be 44m? Why else have that as his shirt number?

Just want it done now tbh

Finding it hard to believe we are genuinely interested, he would be a decent squad player but that's about it, 25-30m would be overpaying for him so can't see us paying 40-50m because it wouldn't make any sense.

Hopefully it will be similar to lukaku situation where there is another target who we haven't heard much about.

I hope its a smoke screen and we end up with a younger and more talented winger. I know we might need a readymade winger now, but this signing will be a bit underwhelming. I also think there arent those many options except him in a similar position. Maybe its sanchez, bale, dembele but maybe all of them are un-getable.
Would love it if we could get Dembele, he would be fire.

I'd say that with our transfer record the last few years (bar last one) I'd rather buy a specialized, v.good AML than a megastar attacking player who 'can play there a bit you know'. Enough of shoehorning big names to alien positions just because you can see them occasionally drifting to the wings or dropping to the centre/ That's different from being an actual left winger. Or an actual AMC. We laugh at the 'dinosaur' approach but actually it's wing-play that we suffered at most last last year both with and against. How about having strong, natural wings ourselves.

I do believe Mourinho's signings are all that route so far. Specialized in their positions and you can see the logic behind it.

For me, Mourinho's logic is taking into account that we might need an older winger to complement a young and still promising Martial, and also a younger defensive preferably English midfielder to prepare for Carrick's goodbye.

I do think the foreign clubs are banding together and demanding huge sums out of PL clubs out of spite.

They're all jealous of PL spending and know they've got cash to burn.

And this and probably a special Man United tax that adds a few millions too but I wouldn't say out of spite, it's just business. If you know the club interested in your player is more loaded than another, wouldn't you try to squeeze as much money as possible for the situation ?

I'd understand the logic if that player had winning experience before or had a big PL experience. What has Perisic got that might make Martial take notice ?

It never pays off to be late for a decision like this. It reminds of when we bought Fellaini, could have gotten cheaper if we went for him earlier.

Teams just seem to want to screw us over in the transfer market. Real wanted 80m for Morata but give James to Bayern for 45m over 3 years.

If it was any other team Inter probably would have just sold Perisic to them to cover cover the FFP deficit. But cos it's us they went at all costs to not sell him for any sort of reasonable price to us. It's a difficult market for Woodward

It definitely plays a role and I believe it all started when SAF left and we had to pay stupid money for players ever since after that. Like you mentioned, I have no doubt if we wanted to get James, the fee wouldn't have been the same as with Bayern. We have to live with that and the same time set some limits when certain clubs go OTT. Real Madrid can feck itself with its valuation of Morata

United are 10 years ahead of the rest of the football world in terms of commercialisation. Transfer fees for us are 2 years ahead of the rest of the world. So be it. It's not something we can beat. We need to focus on strengthening the way the manager wants.
