Perisic is also very fast, I assure you. actually, the fastest measured runs in the last world cup were made by Srna, Robben and Perisic. he may or may not be faster than Rashford, personally I don't it matters that much, but his post doesn't really deserve green smiley as response. it's not like he wrote that Messi is bigger aerial threat than Drogba.

the most important thing for me is the fact he's not only fast, but he's strong too + he has great stamina and is generally very fit player. physically, he's complete package.

I never said he wasn't fast and neither did the other guy, but Rashford is explosively quick, that is why I don't see how he could really have taken that debate any further, maybe just not replied I guess.

Yes, I know Jose McMahon likes his big men, everyone we are linked with is over 6 foot.

Nonsense. The issue as usual is taking two separate Mourinho experiences and mixing them up.

He built a great side at Chelsea and several years later you could still see his influence all over them. After returning to Chelsea he also didn't buy instant success with ageing players. In fact, it is very much his side that just won the league.

Same can be said about Real. They have gone from strength to strength since he left. No collapse whatsoever.

In both cases all that happened is what may yet materialise: he fell out with everyone.

With Inter there was no fallout and no sacking. Inter was pretty much as dominant locally as Juve today and desperate for the CL. Mou too wanted it desperately. It was a good fit but a short term one with a single focus, one shared outcome: immediate CL success.

It was a job between jobs. José had Real written all over him as much as "taking over from SAF and not being found wanting". He has done the Real thing and is now doing the latter.

Where to from here though? Nowhere. It's not an Inter scenario, he wants continuous success which is all he has left to prove. Fingers crossed he can avoid the whole fallout bollocks.

If he's there for long run the surely he won't spend 45m on a nearly 29 year old who isn't that good

That's pretty stupid. We've signed plenty of top players in recent years, just as Chelsea and Real have made plenty of "value" signings.

We can always compare the team left by SAF with that of top clubs like Real, Bayern and Barca

I like wingers that are skillfull, creative players who are good professionals and who's main role is attacking not defending, I don't know how we keep getting managers who care more about how a winger tracks back than how he attacks, I'm sick of it, I also have no time for 29 year old journeyman players.
 Sad sap, like a big baby

You talk about a player with arrogance when you clearly have no knowledge of Perisic and do not watch him regularly.

You are making a fool of yourself.

I watch the Serie A regularly. He is a good player but he's not world class. And stop insulting people who think differently from you

I know all his Croatian fanboys are popping out the woodwork making foolish comments to try and pimp their countryman, we get them every year, 2 summers ago we had the depay guy, last year it was the the one that stalked Renato Sanches, and now you, and all of this doesn't alter the fact he'll be closer to 29 than 28 by the time the season starts, which is what the post you quoted was about.

Perisic? £40M? Really?

If true, Mourinho is reverting, depressingly, to type. Unable to work with the very best for any length of time due to his desire to be Mr Bertie Big B******s. Signing a player a good wedge short of world cass, already at his peak, who will cost a fortune. Depressing.

They're all based off the PremiumSport article which said €45m. Which is £39m.

40 odd million in football is not a lot anymore. It's worth remembering that. You want world class you pay 60 minimum now.

Real just spunked 40 million Euros on a 16 year old.

Fast, decent player who might get us 10 goals but seems more likely to be a cog in the machine than a gamechanger.

Shitty signed a better/younger player for 43m

Shitty also signed a different type of player.

If we are interested, has it not occured to you that Mourinho wants someone who can hug the touchline on the left but also come inside if need be? Silva is not that player. I'm not saying he's better, far from it. Silva is a better player. But Perisic may be a better fit for what Mourinho is specifically looking for.

we are currently discussing the rumour. If you disagree with it then I wonder why you're posting about it
We are discussing Perisic as a player. The rumour is what started this.

Still, 40m for a 28 year old player winger whose not world class and has zero EPL experience is crazy. I have no problem in us signing him. Actually I can list advantages in signing him that some hasn't yet posted in here. My only concern is the rumoured fee

It's 50m€ +20m in bonus.

@devilish

So which way does that work @JPRouve? Is it still €70 million in the end or is it €50?

I'd imagine the add ons will be appearance based.

Based whether City win the League. Etc

In the end I'd say it will be closer to €70 million than to 50.
