Italian Serie A 2022/23

Is anyone playing better football than Napoli in Europe this season? Surely between them and Benfica

Don't jinx Napoli they've been 1st in the league this time of the year 2 times in the last 5 years.

I don't know what they've been feeding Lobotka but he's been immense this season for Napoli. Anguissa too by the way.
Getting constant game time? Him and Zielenski are prospering from Ruiz going away tbh and Napoli look the better for it

Sir Alex loved Spalletti. This doesn't surprise me, quite honestly. Good for him. At one point Sir Alex was interested in him replacing him at United before he changed his mind on retirement.

Kvara is absolutely brilliant and mesmerizing on the ball!

This Napoli team is incredibly fun to watch. Truly feels like their year.

Juve are shit, but what a lovely little finish that is by Fagioli.

Guess I will have to get away from the GF and baby boy next weekend. Derby della Capitale, Derby d'Italia and Atalanta against Napoli

are you that happy to see a Benfica-Juventus rematch under a different name?!? ....
Till Allegri is Juventus manager I have no hopes for the present or the future.

Stop moaning, mate, and enjoy the process. :p Would you and @JuveGER like Tudor over Conte? He seems more suited to the cost-cutting, next-gen project we can afford for the time being.

Lazio losing at home was surprise. Turning into a nice weekend for Napoli

Called it.

Milan look like they can drop points at any moment.

Good for Napoli!

I'm not able to follow Serie A as much as I'd like to, particularly given how interesting it is looking, but from what I've seen I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Napoli, and I really hope they win the Scudetto this season.

The last time a team outside the traditional big 3 won the Scudetto was Capello's Roma back in 2001 right?

That’s it. Roma got very close in 2010 and bottled it (gifting Mourinho’s Inter their legendary treble)… And Napoli did the same in 2018…

Meanwhile Lazio’s official Twitter is crying for a yellow card. SMS will miss the derby because of this.

Crucial day so early in the season! Atalanta (2nd in the table) - Napoli (current leaders) in the late afternoon may re-open Serie A or shut it for good until new year… Kvaradona is out for Napoli, though. Roma-Lazio and Juventus-Inter coming up tomorrow. Fireworks expected!!

Definitely been the best season as a more casual viewer so far.

I’m more excited for the Serie A fixtures than the PL today

Atalanta winning....Lookman yet again.

Will be a blow for Napoli if all they have to show after their long winning streak is just a 2 point lead at top.

If they have a deep european run as seems possible that could really tell come March-April.

Osimhen turns it around. 2-1 Napoli, Elmas

Osimhen outmuscled the Atlanta defender well and then with a simple but good pass to Elmas for the finish

Huge result for Napoli. Elmas is a player I like, probably should get more game time than he does

Surely Mourinho is going to come under serious pressure shortly? Roma just seem to be exactly same as last season win 2-3 games against relegation fodder which gets people excited and then they lose at home to actual top 4 team.

They nearly made a complete mess of the europa group aswell and will be way down the list of potential winners when you look at the quality in that competition. Infact if he wins that with this Roma I'd say that's his best achievement in football since winning CL at Inter in 2010.

Napoli steamrolling the league makes all others look like they are mugs, but it is fair to say that Napoli are truly exceptional these days. If Juve somewhat beats Inter tonight, you will have a seven teams wagon in five points, albeit waaaaay behind them.

Be interesting to see if the pressure gets to Napoli at any stage and they have a wobble.

Looking forward to derby d'italia this evening, fancy Inter to sneak it.

Good week for Juve, could see them getting 2nd if they get their injured players back and fit.

Not only Roma's realistic objective is top4, which is still perfectly within reach, he also already beat Inter away and drew Juve away as well, losing at home to Atalanta, Napoli and Lazio, and in 2 these 3 he once again was struck by the same Roma problem: finishing chances. In Europa League the results were shaky but they got the job done in the end. So yeah there is no reason at all to put him under pressure at the moment, this isn't a 1 year project, Roma is improving and seems to still be on that track, let's see if this continues or if it derails later, but atm they are fine.

Let me just show you the Serie A table, as it seems like you haven't looked at it once this season before you wrote this tirade. Roma is 4 points off 2nd place if you know how to count.

Juve defence quietly turning into a fortress. Bremer in particular is a standout player and Danilo is extremely solid.

With the game changers in attack slowly returning the results will only get better for them.

The state of this reply.

They're pretty consistent at beating the fodder so I wasn't really expecting them to be down there with Monza and Empoli tbh.

Juve have been awful so far this season but they've strung together 3 wins and already above Roma again.

Roma might been fewer than 4 points off 2nd if they hadn't lost at home to the teams in 2nd and 3rd recently so same issues remain as last season, string a few results together and can't make anymore progress.

It's exactly what he was doing at Spurs. Perhaps he's just content to finish 6th in the league nowadays as that's really where Roma are finishing again. Roma made the SFs of CL in 17/18 so it's not like a competition they haven't qualified for in decades.
