Italian Serie A 2022/23

Osimhen is Smalling's dad now. Thems the rules

That was some finish by Osimhen. He deserved it. And Napoli definitely deserves to win this game.

Wasn't even that bad by Smalling, still had Osimhen out wide after missing the ball. That's just a sensational finish.

Not an easy task to outmuscle Smalling, a great goal and a finish after the earlier missed chance.

Sensational from Osimhen. Awful from Smalling.

"Awful" is a bit harsh. He lost the first duel, but then he defended decently, forcing Osimhen to the outside and into a much tighter angle. You don't expect the striker to score after that. But somehow Osimhen pulled out the perfect shot.

Napoli are real this time. This group of players is not afraid of the moment, unlike the previous one

True. Rewatched it plus Chris was on a yellow. Awful was harsh. Was sensational from Osimhen.

AC Milan are the only team who could stop Napoli this season.
Agreed. Inter and hopefully not, but they might have turned a corner, juventus, are the only other teams who might be at their level but they're too far already

Napoli won in milan but they got lucky in that game, absolutely battered and that was milan missing Leao

Smalling did well for normal circumstances, he even deflected the ball a little after having lost the duel and would have got out of jail against 95% strikers… but Osimhen, dear boy, is lethal as a panther!

Not sure he has the workrate in him to stay focused week in, week out all year long in the PL, though. Same as Leao, his impact is felt when games are open and he can run from deep.

Mourinho will be fuming… great strike yet on a counter after his men lost the ball three times (one near the oppos box, one in midfield, one with Smalling who was too distant from his own box :D).

I would say Lazio instead of Inter: after 11 games, numbers don’t lie too much… Napoli is 26:9 and Lazio 23:5 for goals difference, with Inter at 22:17 (terrible defense) and Juventus at 17:7 (insufficient attack).

Lazio aren't good enough to keep up. Inter and Juventus can be, but they're not making up 8 and 10 points on Napoli and 5 and 7 on Milan - Milan are just better

Just seen the Dimarco incident and wow :wenger: :wenger: :wenger:

Redder than a ferrari, Valeri is a mentalist

Hey.
Inter are not (way too sloppy at core tasks this year), but "hopefully", why? =_=

see the two "," surrounding ("but they might have turned a corner")... He is just making it clear whatever happens he doesn't want Juventus to get back into the title race.

I did read "and" as "are".

Prolly this says something about my mental state

You just still feel no confidence with them. You just always feel they got a bottle job in them when it matters.

I enjoy the Seria A, probably the most exciting league around currently, but christ are Mourinho teams boring. Defend a lot, long balls, no midfield passing, no movement, barely any wide play.

Expected more from Napoli too, but I'm guessing they're missing Anguissa's ball playing abilities.
I swear we weren't this boring last year. Defense first, yes, but at least we were good on transitions. We have a lot of injuries (both muscular and traumatic) and players are underperforming compared to last year.

Also, we can't score

Marseille vs Tottenham next week is also Tudor vs Conte, the two rumored coaches most willing to replace Allegri next year on Juve bench. Conte 2.0 would be as rancid as Allegri 2.0 imho. On the other hand, Tudor is relatively young, very hungry and eager to climb the ladder… in that, pretty suited to Juventus’ needs at this moment in time.

As a player, he worked under Lippi as well (and with Pirlo, as an assistant coach two years ago), so he knows the club, what it takes to win and what we are going to need. He is (fondly!!) remembered for this glorious CL late goal:

I love Tudor’s enthusiasm, he will be Juve’s manager in the future.

Tudor is another zag. Another manager completely different from Allegri and more in line with Sarri and Pirlo. Juventus have already shown a lack of patience for those types

Surely has to be Napoli season?

AC Milan seem the only threat but they seem destined for a slip up.

Napoli are steam rolling everyone coming their way!

Nah, I’d love it to happen but Napoli will fall apart near the end of the season.

The curse of Spalletti huh, doomed to always be the nearly man but who knew maybe he'll have his own Ranieri moment this season, they're genuinely contenders the way no spalleti team has been before.

Would be a maradona themed year if both Napoli and Argentina win their respective competitions, that would be nice.

I don't know what they've been feeding Lobotka but he's been immense this season for Napoli. Anguissa too by the way.

Great athletism from Osimhen for the goal. Only young Zlatan could do that.
