Italian Serie A 2022/23

The season is (almost) gone and there is no current plan for the future, moreso until the SuperLeague sentence in the coming months which could see us (plus Real Madrid and Barcelona) fined, restrcited or even excluded from UEFA competitions for a while.

Is that still a thing? I thought they have done some backroom deal and swept it under the carpet?

They can't afford to sack Allegri and you think they have the money for Tuchel?
Fair enough, incredible how far they've fallen in just a few years after being considered one of the best ran clubs in Europe for so long.

Love that Atalanta kit.

Happy to see Sampdoria get a point. Be interesting to see if Stankovic can save them, although will be tough with the squad he has.

Am I the only one that believes that serie A has been the most exciting and competitive league in the past few years?

Massive goal from Vlahovic. Fair play to him, he has just kept on trying when things haven't been going his way

Of course, it is. All the other top leagues have become one-horse races, or at best a 2 horse race the odd year.

Lazio - Udinese incoming as the match of the day (!!). Both teams aiming for 2nd place, one point below Atalanta, before the Napoli game later this afternoon.

Most interesting league in the world at the moment. That top 6 Are all in it.

If you based it on achievements ancelloti should be the first but the top 3 is obviously spot on.

Pioli is an interesting one too but I don't mind that and to be honest from what you posted it seems to be relatively decent.

Also Italy has always produces top notch coaches but let's whether that trend continues or not, not many youthful names in sight, let's see whether inzaghi makes it or not.

Yep, it is. I have been thinking about Serie A and how it has developed since Juve fell away and the nature of it since the late 90's/early 00's and have been thinking, is this what post-Oil looks like?

I say this as Italy was kind of the first league to go on massive spending sprees in the 80's to 90's but that dried up from the early 00's.

No Max Allegri…..ahahaha @Bepi

Living and dying by results makes him worthless without trophies.

Now, just imagine he goes to Inter next season and wins them a title………..… (please tag the Inter fan for a comment, I can’t remember his nickname atm… not a pun, I swear!)

EDIT: got it! @abundance

=D
I may laugh but with fellow Inter fans, every time Conte went psycho with us in his first year and a half, we went "why we don't just dump this lunatic and call Allegri, team's good at this point, we'll just grind results on autopilot"

So little we knew... Hard to imagine he had jumped the shark so bad during his sabbatical

Lautaro is hitting top form right in time for the WC. Perfect for Messi.

L'unico modo in cui quella epocale pippa senza senso di Micky Taryan poteva segnare

Venuti is the hero we don't deserve XD

What a crap fest from us... Entertaining for neutral prolly, but I thought we were finally on the right track... and no, definitely not.

valeri's hardon for inter isn't in the slightest bit hidden, and i hate crying about reffing... that was a horrific display.

@abundance Lautaro’s performance last night was excellent.
Yup Lautaro is really hitting his top form since Barcelona.
And we had some other very good individual performances here and there.
But collectively... oh man.
Defence is always very brittle, we are just never ever able to control midfield while on top, and don't get me started on Inzaghi's subbing...
It all seem really endemic at this point and we're going nowhere unless we fix all this.

it’s Handa’s fault.

the fact gds says he's going to be suspended over last night?
He's being suspended for one week, yeah, surely due as he's been making some mistakes already this season and he had a very bad night yesterday.
Re. Dimarco penalty foul, I maintain that straight red would've been too harsh but not even a yellow after watching VAR review is egregious.
He misjudged various minor fouls outside of the box too and missed some yellows, both ways, and he couldn't keep players' nerves at bay.
And finally, look at how Jovic got free of De Vrij to score the 3-3, he grabbed the front of his shirt with both hands and swiveled him 180°, if it happened to one of your defender the GdS would be all over it, rest assured .p

or you know, just watching his performances when he refs inter matches?
oh, k, what and when exactly?

I remember that, Handa was like "hey man, do not always send long balls under pressure, stay calm you can pass it to the side of the box too."
Very first ball after that, he duly followed advice and went sooo close to gift it to an opponent XD

Atalanta-Lazio 0-2 (!!) … aaaaand Roma-Napoli next, in less than an hour. The table is looking hilarious.

I enjoy the Seria A, probably the most exciting league around currently, but christ are Mourinho teams boring. Defend a lot, long balls, no midfield passing, no movement, barely any wide play.

Expected more from Napoli too, but I'm guessing they're missing Anguissa's ball playing abilities.

Osimhen really stands out everytime I see him. Technically very good despite his pace and size. Shame it'd cost 100m minimum to get him.
