I've lost track of who is avenging what now...but I'm sure killing Israeli and Palestinians toddlers is the right path for all concerned.
Sickening. Really sickening.
Those elements should be dealt with harshly. The only difference between them and ISIS material is that they currently live in a state of law. If this is loosened any longer they'll continue to raise their ugly heads and cause more damage, in what is already an explosive state of affairs. It's the same elements in society here that torched a church a couple of months ago, and stabbed people in the pride parade in Jerusalem yesterday. Hate crimes- checked, religious fundamentalists- checked. you don't hunt them down only after they take over, but you fight them harshly well before. Unfortunately Israeli authorities are well late in taking the necessary measures. Shameful.
Expect plenty of clashes after the Friday prayers later on today, with possibly additional deaths. There are also people who will get killed in the coming days/weeks in incidents triggered by this barbaric act.
No excuses whatsoever. An utterly despicable act that shames humanity. I hope the bastards who did this, along with the other nutter who stabbed gays, receive the full punishment they deserve.
Only that they won't. Check out the treatment of those burnt that Jerusalem boy alive last summer. Anything short of a systematic treatment of that fundamentalist element would be lip service only. If Arabs can be detained for months without trial, so should Jewish jihadists.
Presumably these ultra-violent settlers have financial and political backers within the Knesset or the higher echelons of Israeli society?
Why the delay?
And violence begets violence, I see little use in rounding these extremists up and sending them to one of the seven heavens. As with ISIS you deal with the elements acting as their lifeline. Presumably these ultra-violent settlers have financial and political backers within the Knesset or the higher echelons of Israeli society?
I sincerely hope not. Very much secondary to this outrageous crime, they have shamed Israel and Judaism and undermined any progress regarding peace.
Admittedly I'm not too clued up on current proceedings within Israeli politics, but what about the likes of Bennett, Shaked and The Jewish Home Party in general? From what I understand they are fierce proponents of mass-settlement programs and the fact they have two senior ministers in the cabinet might give these extremists some breathing space - or am I over simplifying it?
Stick a wall round the settlements where any suspects (or their associates, friends, and families) are from and shoot anyone that tries to get out. That should solve the problem.
What does that achieve?
You demolish our houses we burn a Palestinian baby.
fecking hell.
Worst part is I bet perpetrators wont be fond.I'm trying to put myself in the shoes of a complete religious lunatic to try to understand the logic of these 'price-tag' attacks, and still can't get anywhere near. When empathy is impossible, you know that evil actually exists, and this is it.
Stick a wall round the settlements where any suspects (or their associates, friends, and families) are from and shoot anyone that tries to get out. That should solve the problem.
I understand the cynicism, but would wait with these measures until they set bombs to buses and cafes, or launch thousands of rockets.
Still, I would love to see the concerted effort of grazing illegal construction in the WB, with drones patrolling the air 24/7 to prevent those mourderous scum get on with their "price tag" heroics.
They have done all that and more, the bombs and rockets say "IDF" on the side and are launched from planes and helicopters.
In which case we are already surrounded by a barrier and we get shot if we cross it.
Family of burned infant to turn home into land-mark that witnessed Israeli terrorism
Settlers burn alive 18-month-old, his family severely wounded
Thousands of Palestinians today participated in the funeral of the 18-month-old infant, Ali Saad Dawabshe, who was burned to death today in an arson by Israeli settlers.
The funeral was headed by the Palestinian prime minister, Dr. Rami Hamdallah, head of Palestinian intelligence, major-general Majed Faraj, and other Palestinian leaders as well.
In his speech at the funeral, Hamdalla vowed to take this crime to the international criminal court in the Hague, to hold Israel accountablefor its deeds.
Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas pledged to repair the burnt house.
However, on behalf of the family, Samir Dawabshe said that the people of Duma and Madama villages suggested they contribute to build a new house, and to keep the old burned houseand build a wall around it.
“The family wishes to keep the house as it is after the arson, to be a land-mark and witness to the Israeli crimes, racism and savageness. It should be a symbol for anyone who would like to know the truth about this occupation,” Dawabshe said.
“Little Ali was sleeping in peace last night, but didn’t know that the criminals were lurking against him.” he added.
“I visited Ali today at the hospital, but he was not longer the smiling child I used to see. Instead, I could imagine him screaming for help from his brother sleeping next to him, who didn’t have enough time to wake up and save him.”
The infant’s mother still lies in the hospital, but still doesn’t know about her toddler’s death yet.
Dawabshe assured that the Palestinian people and leaders must hold Israel accountable for its crimes and killing of the innocent, collectively.
On Friday morning , extremist Israeli settlers have torched two homes in Duma village near Nablus, which lead to the burning of an 18-month-old baby, Ali Dawabsheh, and severely wounding his family.
According to medics in Nablus’ Rafidia hospital, the infant’s mother, father and 4-year-old sibling suffered third degree burns on up to 75% of their bodies.
Empty words from the Israeli Government, next month they will be approving more settlements
Yeah, Netanyahu is shocked but in the same time is backing the settlers and building more and more settlements.Empty words from the Israeli Government, next month they will be approving more settlements
Israeli settlers on Monday everning have torched tens of olive trees in private Palestinian land in Azzoon town east of Qalilya, northern West Bank.
Security sources said that civil defense forces headed to the land, and put off the fire which had already damaged a number of trees.
Settlers by then have fled the scene.
Israeli settler attacks on trees have been on the increase now, especially with the support of Israeli soldiers and police which destroy trees under security pretexts.
On Sunday morning, a horde of Israeli settlers set fire to dozens of Palestinian olive orchards and cultivated lands in al-Mugheir village, east of Ramallah city, moments after they failed to torch a Palestinian family home.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, eyewitnesses said a gang of Israeli vandals residing in an illegal nearby settlement tried to burn down a Palestinian family home before they were stopped by the local residents.
The Israeli occupation forces showed up at the scene and attacked the Palestinian locals with random spates of tear gas canisters and rubber bullets.
On 22 July, IOF have uprooted a number of trees, destroying an agricultural land in Beit Oula village near Hebron, under security pretext.
The land and trees are property of citizen Faried Atrash. Israeli forces have previously told him to uproot the trees for alleged security reasons, but he refused. IOF then have savagely destroyed the land, ensuring that he can not fix again.
The Director of Tel Hashomer Hospital where the Family of infant martyr Ali Dawabsheh receives treatment, on Monday said the family needs one year in ICU after the elapse of the state of danger.
Speaking of the mother’s life, the official said that it was in danger of dying in the current stage.
The Palestinian Minister of Health Jawad Awwad announced on Sunday that both parents of martyr Dawabsheh are in very critical condition. An improvement has been noticed on the child’s little brother who suffers burns in his legs.
At dawn Friday, toddler Dawabsheh was burned alive in his house at the hands of extremist Israeli settlers. His parents and brother got injured seriously.
Classic settlin', occupationin', and h_red denyinin'.Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Wednesday morning have demolished a house under construction in Al-Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron.
Local sources said that IOF tore down the foundations of the house under the pretext that it is located in (C) area and had no building permit.
The house is property of Khaled Al-Moghrabi.
On a related matter, IOF Wednesday morning have destroyed seven farming facilities in Al-Aqaba village east of Tubas, northern West Bank.
The facilities were utilized for agricultural purposes, and served as warehouses for grain and livestock.
On Tuesday morning, Israeli occupation bulldozers tore down three homes in Dahmash town near occupied Ramla, under the pretext of no building permit.
The Dahmash neighborhood shelters about 700 Palestinians, and its case dates back to the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe ) in 1948, when the Zionist forces forcefully displaced over 800 thousand Palestinians from their homes.
Last Tuesday, IOF demolished two buildings, which contained two housing units and two commercial shops in the town of Silwan, East Jerusalem. The demolition was an order from the Jerusalem municipality, under the pretext that they were built without a permit.
Jerusalem (AFP) - Approval of building plans for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is subject to political considerations, Israeli defence officials have acknowledged.
The admission came as a landmark court case seeks to challenge Israel's housing policy in Area C, which covers 60 percent of the West Bank but is under full Israeli civil and security control.
All building in Area C, whether by Palestinians or Jewish settlers, comes under the jurisdiction of the Israeli Civil Administration which has full control over all zoning and planning issues.
In practice, almost all Palestinian applications for a building permit are rejected, with the Civil Administration granting only a handful of permits.
In a written response to AFP regarding the legal case in which a Palestinian village and a coalition of NGOs are seeking to tackle Israel's policy of house demolitions, COGAT -- the defence ministry body to which the Civil Administration belongs -- admitted that planning issues required political approval.
"Any construction in Area C, both Palestinian and Israeli, requires the approval of the qualified authorities, according to the law practised in the region and in accordance with the Interim Agreement," it said, referring to the 1995 Oslo 2 agreement which divided the West Bank into areas A, B and C.
"The Civil Administration's planning committee examines and promotes construction plans equitably, dependant on the fact that these plans meet the relevant planning criteria and their promotion is approved by the political echelon," it said, without giving further detail.
Experts have long suspected that the Israel's housing policy in Area C is not just a civilian matter but has a political bias.
In 2014, the Civil Administration granted just one Palestinian building permit, according to Israeli planning NGO Bimkom.
In the same period, Israel carried 493 demolitions, displacing 969 people, UN figures show.
Unable to get "legal" permission, Palestinians are faced with either leaving or building illegally.
Israel regularly sends bulldozers to demolish hundreds of homes and other structures every year in a move sharply condemned by rights groups and the international community.
The legal case, which is currently before the Supreme Court, seeks to return local planning issues to the Palestinians by reviving local and district planning committees which existed before the 1967 Six-Day War and were abolished by military order in 1971.
Such a move would provide an answer for the problem of illegal building, and by extension impact on house demolitions, the petitioners say.
The plan of these settlers is evidently to take as much land as they can get their hands on and then in twenty years time they can proclaim any Palestinians wanting said land back to be terrorists. It's interesting to see these settlers and the reaction to their stealing of Palestinian land (no international outrage to note) because it mirrors in a micro-scale environment exactly what happened when the state of Palestine was stolen.
It's a disgrace that the Israeli government have allowed this to continue. How exactly do you expect to attain peace when members of your state are still in the process of annexing land that is not theirs?
I was commenting more generally on the situation which sees Israeli extremist settlers attempt to steal land en masse from Palestinians (quite successfully). Would you, as a moderate Israeli, condemn this practice and implore your government to bring a halt to it?That wouldn't work though would it? "Occupied Ramla" is an Israeli town on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. This one is not about the "occupied territories" or "settlers", but about the right of the Jewish people for self-determination. Your Arab sources don't make a distinction.
I've read similar reports before. What exists at the moment is essentially apartheid by another name.95% of Palestinian building permits are rejected in Jerusalem. I'm trying to get figures for other areas.
