First of all obviously horrific event. But I fail to see how it serves Israel to do this. Bombing a hospital just as Biden arrives and you need US carriers and munitions and you go and commit a blatant war crime? There is some level of not going completely after civilians despite the huge death tolls. It's not like they don't have precision bombing and intelligence, would be very difficult to do as an accident. Let's see what the evidence says.

It is definitely in Israel's interest to lie about it if they did hit it accidentally though. So their claim doesn't mean much.

Maybe, but they took their time so I believe they worked out what actually happened. If they were just going to deny it regardless, they could have done it within five minutes. It would have actually been better to do it quickly.

Bibi himself could shoot a toddler in the face with Biden stood in the room and the US would still send carriers and munitions.

The best argument against it being a Hamas misfire is the amount of damage and casualties. A Hamas rocket struck an Israeli hospital on Saturday, and the damage amounted to a hole in a wall and no casualties. We're talking a 10kg warhead at most, they aren't capable of leveling a hospital and killing 500 people.
If it was a failed rocket launch the rocket could still have a lot of unburnt rocket propellant onboard that would make it's impact much more devastating compared to only the warhead reaching it's target.

IDF lies, there's no question about that.

I don't know if the beheaded babies was a lie.

I firmly believe that the IDF claim about the hospital is not a lie. Israel did not do this.

I struggle to believe you actually think this, let alone ‘firmly believe’. You want it not to be true though.

If it's Israel it's 100000000% an accident. I've no idea how easy/hard it is to do it as an accident.

The buffoons in the government like Ben Gvir or Smotrich will surely be happy it happened,
but the IDF generals will be furious. This hurts Israel hugely.
There's absolutely nothing you gain from killing people in hospitals.

Why would that be important to me?

I know Israel has been doing terrible things to the palestenians for decades, including killing many. I hardly think my country is some saint. It's guilty of many things, in Gaza as well. Just not this one.

IDF aren’t bothered who they bomb. They want every single person in Gaza dead.

This is a shit show. IDF are a massive PR machine too so know how to play this, Hamas could equally have done this and spin it.

What's sad is that it could be either side, and it could be deliberate or innocent. We may never really know

Ultimately and the saddest thing is, people stuck in the middle of it who had no chance face the ultimate consequences

This conflict has brought the worst out in people. It's just depressing beyond belief seeing people (whichever side they are on of the conflict, if they have one) justify or bend themselves to not lose face. I don't really see how this will end

Shit video, sorry. "same sound" is a crap piece of proof, and it's not even an identical sound to my very naked ear.
We shall see what the IDF can come up with as video evidence for it to have been a failed launch attempt.

Until they don't show the world something like that, big trouble ahead.

I'm not sure that's what's actually playing out though. There is a lot of effort and back channelling not to make this a full blown regional war (Biden visiting, ground invasion somewhat delayed) which blowing up a hospital is obviously not conducive too. Optics matter, particularly for the Gulf nations who want to probably still want to normalise relations eventually.

But how does serves Israel to:

A) constant use of ISIS-style rhetoric from state officials
B) continuing to bomb heavily densed civilian areas
C) officially announce a complete blockage of food, water, aid and electricity to a heavily-populated area filled with kids already living in poverty

All this is when the whole world is watching, which means I haven't included their past crimes when the spotlight was off. They might not have done this latest heinous crime but they have shown that that they don't give a feck what the rest of the world thinks which either means they are capable of doing it or they set themselves up easily for insurgents to destroy their international reputation even more.

I wouldn't put it past either side in this conflict to bomb a hospital, accidentally or deliberately.

No, you are wrong. this would be a very very large part of the Israeli public right now, what you described.
The army doesn't act according to public wishes.
IDF has the ability to make everyone in Gaza dead. why hasn't this happened?

You mean you don’t think @MyLordBebo is the munitions expert he’s positioning himself as?!?

I highly doubt Hamas have missiles capable of killing 500 people, it smells like Israel covering their messup but of course ''we investigated ourselves and we didnt do it''
Whoever did it, it is time to put hostility to bed and lets have a political solution ion to this mess.

Hamas claimed on their own telegram, apparently, that they were about to fire their strongest rocket, a couple minutes before the hospital was hit.

I’m not believing one word coming from the barbarians who labels Palestinians as human animals and anyone who believes them either wants to believe them or has some mental issues.

Does that sound remotely likely to you?!

People who have seen me write here over the years know I'm hardly one to defend my country... I know Israel has been doing many terrible things.
It's true mate but it will be hard to get any support in these current times. It's in Israel's best interest to present clear evidence if they can. Solely denying won't do. It's a heinous attack.

Biden should not make this trip.

True. We'll have to wait and see if they come up with it.

Nation states have previous for claiming that catastrophic explosions are 'own goals'. They often deny, deny, deny, and then the truth seeps out some time later.
