Isco

He's already a quality ball player but he's going to be a real magician as he matures. He's well on the way to becoming what his nickname was at Valencia, the new Silva.

Nah, he's going to score all those goals that Silva always looks like he's going to but doesn't :D

I think our only chance, as fans, to see him at Old Trafford in the colours of United was if someone were to leave. Having an attacking contigent of Rooney, RVP, Hernandez, Welbeck, Kagawa, Nani, Young, Valencia AND Isco would be above amazinly wanktastic; but I doubt we'd be able to keep everyone happy. There's something called squad depth, and then there's something called having too much to please everyone.

I wish we meet his release clause and sign him in January as a replacement for Nani. I have been watching him whenever I get a chance this season and he looks a quality player. Can play on right, left or the center and is very creative. Plus he is Spanish and that is default for good these days. Might also be good to get DeGea a little buddy.

He has a €21m release clause and is on some €400K/pa wages. Malaga are thinking about quadrupling his wages and trying to insert at least the double the release clause amount. Hope we make a move before that.

Hope we don't miss out on him and he becomes another Mata/Silva that we watch play for another club in envy.

Fantastic little player, and one that we should be looking at extremely closely given his relatively low release clause and wages.

@Forevergiggs I don't think De Gea needs any "buddies" in particular, we have a surprisngly large number of Spanish speakers in the team - Da Silvas, Anderson, Nani, Valencia, Hernandez and Evra (?)

Portugese speakers, surely?

They're similar enough that they can talk to each other.

I think the ndxt big saga will surround this guy, but surely we have to pinch one of these players eventually. Chelsea and City are stacked with these players now which is going to play into our hands eventually and deter one of our targets from going there. The only trouble will be if one of Spains big boys get involved.

I've never seen him but would be happy if we went in for him, because he's Spanish.

He just glides past players, impressive. Seems to be a good dribbler with lots of creativity. Exactly what we need. Let's buy him - now!

Am I right in saying that half the people saying he's the next big thing are saying that pretty much entirely based on his performances this season? Or more accurately, on a brief highlights of his CL performances? He definitely wasn't mentioned much before this season so it all seems awfully kneejerk.

Well he certainly wasn't as consistent last season, nor as much of a regular, but the talent has always been there, just a matter of when.

He was already a revelation last season, in his first full season with a senior squad (he'd only made 7 appearances for Valencia), scoring 5 goals in 32 league games as Málaga incredibly finished 4th.

But yeah, most people on here are probably basing their views on his CL apps this season.

Guilty as charged. Well, in relation to this season's performances, I've made an effort to watch a quite a few Malaga games and not just CL highlights.

But what's so bad about that? Many had heard of him before as being a very highly rated youth player, and if having put in the good performances that he has this season he starts attracting major attention then what's the problem with wanting to sign him?

Ronaldo was also known to be a highly rated youth player, and after one game against us our own players wanted us to sign him, sometimes it only takes a handful of games to see the potential that scouts and reporters were hyping up and to grab the attention of major clubs.

No? Of his 32 league apps, only 3 he didn't start (all at the begining of the season).... seems regular enough to me, also considering he was 19 years old.

Heh, that's more than I remember, fair enough, still, I don't think he was integral to the team last season, it's only since Cazorla left that he's been a core figure, and he's shining now, more than ever.

It's just something I feel, I don't think he really gets players like Silva and Mata and Isco. Would rather have a winger in the mould of Valencia, and even players who have had flair have been asked to take it out of their game.

Anderson for example has all the tricks, Nani too, but you don't see them come out in a Ferguson team.

There was a bit of discussion about him in the Cazorla thread in the summer (mainly from the posters who follow La Liga like FCBarca and jojojo) but most of the discussion seems to have come about this season as people have noticed him more.

I read that as "shining now and forever more" and was thinking wtf

He was an important player for Malaga last season just not to the current extent. And yes it was very quiet about Isco on here before this season, I posted about him in a Thiago Alcantara thread a long time ago, a Malaga thread and a Cazorla thread and I dont remember anyone else

IF we are talking about replacing Nani,

Isco or Muniain?( For those who have seen both enough to conclude)

I think last season nobody thought of him as a viable option due to Malagas supposed wealth.

He signed Kagawa and tried to sign Hazard.

EDIT: I don't include Lucas here because although he obviously thinks he's the sort of player who could also make it as a number 10, I don't. He may like to cut inside, but his running style is very direct, and he looks far more like a forward than a playmaker (more Walcott than Silva). But others might disagree, in which case you can add him to the list above.

There are a lot of great Spanish talents around.

It's scary, there seems to be no end to the talent they produce.

You just had to look at their u19 team to see that even the current crop of young stars like Thiago, Isco, Muniain, Callejon and Canales there comes an equally talented crop of players with Suso, Torres, Jese, Deulofeu, Campana and Alcacer and probably even more that I don't know off.

It's really amazing what a constant flow of technical and tactical brilliant players Spain is able to produce atm.
