IPL 2019

Don't see why rcb think they need Ali and, especially, de grandhomme.

They should drop them for bowlers. The batting can easily ride on kohli, ab and hetmyer with an Indian supporting cast.

Ali is a bowler really, that's his main role in the England side. He's an international spinner so can't really argue with that.

Agree with you on De Grandhomme though.

Plus if he can open the batting and make a quick score, then that's an added bonus. I'm not really sure what the right XI is for this squad. The Indian bench strength is not as good as some of the other teams.

If CSK can get 120 here I don't fancy Rajasthan's chances with all that spin.

I think it will be a interesting chase if CSK get to 120. It's not spinning - just seems like a slow pitch.

I'd fancy Rajasthan in a low chase. Some of their batsmen are test quality.

Kulkarni 1/13 off 3 overs finished with 1/37 could be the over that costs RR the match

Can't see how RR get these. Can only hope Buttler comes off early on and the CSK bowlers can't grip the ball (guess that's why we only saw five overs of spin from RR).

Brainless from RR here. Guess that's them done for the tournament.

Doesn't say much for the captain and coaching staff does it. They've melted down in game 1 and again today.

Them and RCB follow the same script every frigging season. It's infuriating. RR always blow games when they have a good chance. They will go on a small winning run at some point which will make put them in the running for the top 4 at which point they will again lose games they should be winning.

As you say, they've got in front in all three games and thrown it away. With Smith, Rahane, Buttler and Stokes in the ranks they should be doing better.

And again  So close!

They did well to reach so close though. That last Unadkat over cost them the match.

Smith cost them with a shameful 28 off 30, you face 1/4 of the deliveries you need to score 1/4 or more of the runs and he couldn’t even get more then a run a ball

Problem for RR is that, in Rahane and Smith, they've got two very similar players. You can justify having one non-power hitter in your top six, but not two.

Interesting to see Curran opening for K1M. Think he might be opening for England in red-ball cricket before too long.

He is such a fluent batsman. Opener may be pushing it in whites though. Number five easily. Bit like qdk, just great stroke play.

Trouble is that he's got no chance of getting in for England between numbers four and seven at the moment. If he wants to play he's either got to bat in the top three or play as a bowling all-rounder, and his bowling's been exposed recently (he's only taken 15 wickets in nine tests and four of those came in that shock performance at Edgbaston).

He'll almost certainly bat in the top six for Surrey when he gets back from IPL. I'd love to see him get a go as opener though, he's got the technique for it and it's an area England badly need to find someone.

Curran definitely has that golden arm x-factor quality. He hasn't done much more than just bowl length here and a hat trick.

Sam Curran Hatrrick to finish. Incredible death bowling.

Delhi

Christ man. We really are the SA of the IPL.
