IPL 2019

Probable leaves in end Apr/May:

Stokes, Smith, Archer, Stokes - RR
Bairstow, Warner - SRH
Moeen Ali, Stoinis - RCB
.
Buttler, De Kock, Stanlake - MI
Lynn - KKR
Faf Du Pleiss - CSK

SRH, RR and RCB have no hopes of playoff's. MI has big impact whilse Lynn and Faf are in form and could be a factor.
Lynn was dropped from Australia ODI side early this year and he is not in the provisioned WC side. So I don't expect him to leave at all. Same with Stanleke.
Buttler plays for RR, not MI.

Interestingly, Delhi have been better away from home. Their side for some funny reason can't cope well with their own conditions.
They don't have the right batsmen to play in that Delhi pitch and that's why they are struggling big time at home. All of their top 5 batsmen except Shreyash, are strokemakers who like pace and bounce in the wicket whereas the Delhi pitch has been sluggish this year.

Because they've got loads of pace and it's a slow, low pitch. Their bowlers just come onto the bat and you can smash them. They should have brought in another spinner instead of Morris.

Buttler started at MI didn't he.

Wonder where he'll be playing next year. Seems wasted at RR. Would be a great replacement for Watson at CSK.

Yes - He started at RR. I don't think the big auction is happening next year. So he is stuck at RR for 2 more years unless RR trade him for someone else.

Great batting from Ali but once again gets out playing a stupid shot. No need to play that shot since he already got enough of that over and just before break.

Karthik doing a pep, Over thinking everything.

Don't even go there

DK is just a clueless captain.

That cover drive

King.

Yup, I can now see why. Very good man to have.

He's a great little player, opens for Worcestershire.

I do think a few of the England boys get let down a bit by where they are asked to bat in the IPL. I think they look at where they're batting for England and think that's where they should bat, and if you've got Bairstow and Buttler levels of talent in front of them then fair enough (although why buy them?) but Mooen and Stokes are both top order batsman. 4 is a much better place for Mooen, and I can't for the life of my work out why Stokes was batting at 6 and being asked to bowl at the death before he was dropped.

Damn. Thought Uthappa killed the game for good.

43 off 12. Is it actually game on now?!

Moeen to ball the last over.. damnn

E: Uthappa the reason KKR lost. Fabulous by Dre. Just wow.

‘Robbie’ is the reason KKR lost here. If Dre Russ and Rana had those extra balls they would have won.

RCB nearly F'ed that one up.

Whether its Robin or Robbie, he's still crap. What pathetic batting by him, cost his team the match.

Uthappa :lol::lol:

Stupid innings, but KKR batting lineup is all kinds of messed up. Bizarre

I don't think I've ever seen such consistent hitting in my life. Russell is having one of the ATG tournaments. Let's hope he does something like this for Windies too.

DK and the KKR Think tank singlehandedly winning RCB the game. Stupid cnuts

As a KKR supporter I can tell you Uthappa has been sabotaging the team since last year after he was overlooked for captain position . He consistently scores a 20 or 30 with a strike rate of just over 100 without accelerating and getting out at crucial times . But this season he has out done himself and has been playing way more worse .

Any particular reason he’s not been dropped?

He keeps scoring a 30 or 40 every alternate game atleast till last season which keeps his place safe . Add to that he is a proven experiencee t20 player and there aren't good back up on the bench .

I see. That’s fair enough then, but days like today are just truly awful.

However weak the bench may be, they won't do worse that him I'd assume. All he needed to do yesterday was strike at run-a-ball. That was shocking performance from him. If the sabotaging is true, then he deserves to be dropped.

KKR has Rinku Singh who's been very good in domestic t20. Could've given him a try.

Surprised that Smith has replaced him, Smith has been quiet poor with the bat so far 187 runs 1 50 and a very low 107 SR

I think the problem is both of them in the same team really. Rahane just is not a T20 player for my money (knock the other day notwithstanding) and Smith (and Tripathi) are also accumulators rather than outright hitters. 1 of those 3 (2 at an absolute push) in the side would give you Buttler, Smith(Tripathi), Samson, Stokes (who has not had a terrible tournament with the bat despite received wisdom; he just hasn't faced enough balls) is a more destructive top 4.

There's quite a lot of reliance on Gowtham and Gopal to finish though (unless you play Turner and drop Smith for Tripathi, although he's a wild card) but that's a question of why they bought the players they did.

Hardly matters though, they're losing half their squad in a week.
