Not sure if it has been discussed before, but will players be rated at the positions they played/occupied during the tournament or based on their ability shown there?

For example Pele of 70' as a striker.

It was brought up before but no worries. You are not forced to play a player in the exact same position and role as he played in the tournament. That would mean you couldn't use a lot of players from the older eras because they'd never be a good fit that way. So there is leeway to make your own case, but then you have all the responsibility to provide the proofs and arguments for it.

Make sure you make an in depth case and use the no character limit on the write ups to explain why you think he can play in another position/role. But beware that it hasn't always worked out great in these Euro/WC style drafts to do that sort of stuff. So I'd recommend staying away from it.

They've both been online this evening too. Creative differences? Some sort of weird rope-a-dope strategy whereby we all exhaust ourselves picking world beaters and they somehow capitalise? Who knows.
