Moore v Neeskens. Silly thing is we settled on Moore and then Invictus didn't pull the trigger because he thought I'd do it. Doesn't matter though I think based on peak Brehme is untouchable for an impact by a full back on an international tournament

Ah yeah, thought that was the case then :)

Brehme is a great choice. Had him down with Maldini, Nilton and Krol for the left position and indeed he had a great impact right in his prime as a footballer.
 
Yeah, Zidane was my other option for Sammer in the previous round. Didn't really expect him to last all the way round, albeit there was always a snifter with most of the top 5 having great no10s in place. Don't think I've ever had him before, but no better a draft than an international tournament one to stretch his legs.

Yeah, hard to top his impact. I'd even argue that he was more influencing than the likes of Maldini and Nilton Santos, if we're talking about one given tournament (although he isn't far behind them even in an all-time context)

@Annahnomoss if we pick a great player(in that specific time frame) that also had a great tournament but at that tourno he played only against crap opposition, how would he be rated? I know you said we wont make differences between competitions but the quality of opposition is important and i get it why, so we dont get average joes with God tier performances but how do we rate a great player in the same situation?
Example, lets say Messi was playing olympics in 2015 and was taking the piss as the quality of opposition wasnt on his level....so we have a great player with great tourno, proven at that time on the highest stage but at that specific tournament he was playing against poor teams.

That is a difficult issue. Of course the quality of the opposition is one of the most important parts at the start of this draft at least. Because the rest of the top players being picked not only had spectacular tournaments, but most of them backed it by performing against great sides.

So it is up to you to sort of make your mind up on it. Maybe the player is then worthy of being picked in a few rounds instead? As we move on there will have been a few players with sort of weak runs in the Euro/World Cup as well. Against questionable opponents, or a low number of difficult ones.

Nah, but was close to picking him instead of Falcao. Shame really, the earlier version of Suarez would have worked a treat with Falcao.
