India's tour of England

If Bangladesh has performed like this, we'd have questioned their test status.

Embarrassing performance. The coaching staff needs to go, the players look dead mentally. Sack Dhoni too, we need a new captain.

Yea.

Only India would look at the country of Australia and spot Joe Dawes and think "here's our bowling coach"..

Where do you go from here?

These are basically the best players we've got, barring Gambhir and Dhoni..

All the riches of BCCI and yet we seemingly can't hire a decent bowling coach, fitness coach and overall coach.

Oh and feck off regarding DRS, it's a working system you big set of egoistical wankers.

We've been mentally dead, that's it.

No problem in their skill. We need to find a better spinner, opener and a captain. Turnarounds can happen though and we need not look too far from our opponents to see that.

Part of the problem is with the succession planning -- would've been useful to have these players play 20-30 tests one by one with Sachin/Dravid/Laxman in the group. They've just completely bottled it. And they were 1-0 up astonishingly -- which is another part of the problem, all these 2 test series..

I don't think any team in the last 10 years would miss a single player like England would when Anderson's done in another 2 years. Born to play cricket in England.

Pretty certain Dhoni will be gone as captain after this series. Question is, who do you make captain? These youngsters haven't handled the responsibility of batting/bowling properly, how can you make case that they will handle captaincy AND batting/bowling pressure together away from home? Other is, Dhoni has shown the most fight while batting in this series, so firing him out of the team won't make sense and won't be fair. Should be retained in the team till Australia tour at least.

Who will take over as captain? If Kohli had performed well, he would have been a shoe in but giving it to him now would be mental. He needs to sort out his batting overseas first.

There is literally not a single candidate to take over as captain from Dhoni in the test team. You barely have 3 players who are sort of automatic selections.

I think I'll explode if Dhoni comes out and talks about processes again.

Totally agree. Made same point. I think though that Dhoni himself might resign. Or BCCI will change because some change is needed.

The BCCI is like some kind of bizarre propaganda machine. They won't change anything. Ravi Shastri will come out and hail CLT20 as the greatest sporting event on the planet, Dhoni will make some lame jokes at the press conference, N Srinivasan will put his foot on a few more associate necks and the show will go on.

No one knows what the point of the propaganda is because clearly no one gives a feck, but they'll continue anyway. N Srinivasan is like some kind of mastermind of a plan that only he knows and no one else gives a feck about. Spastics.

Just shows you how good Sachin(in particular) and Dravid were, to average 50+ in nearly every country and do it for 20 years. Extraordianry.

Bringing Gambhir back was tragic. At least Dhawan was threatening to score runs.

You can't seriously talk about Dhoni being sacked as captain after this test. There's no one who can take over right now in this Indian side.

New and newer ways of failing. At the moment I am not able to make out whether Moyes and his team looked more out of depth last season or India has in last 3 tests. Just when you think it can't get worse, team finds a newer way to fail.

I reckon statistically there must be about 200,000,000 blokes in India better at Cricket than these fellas.

Indian fans you tell me, but watching India in these last three tests it seems to me that there is no appetite for test cricket in some of those players especially in such a long series. Just no fight at all shown.

The same players will probably now go and become world beaters in the ODI series.

 Wait till they get back in India and play in IPL

On serious note, Kohli-Pujara and Rahane are good players than they performed especially in last 3 tests. To me, they lost more in mind. There are some technical flaws but they are not as bad as they did here.

Kohli and Pujara didn't lose it in the mind. There are glaring weaknesses being exploited.

That.

Ya but Ganguly had weaknesses, Laxman had weaknesses. They found way out. Laxman less so in swinging conditions but he still used to fight more. These two look to have more talent but have gone in shell somewhat.

Pujara's got isolated weaknesses. I think he will come good. Kohli's got to change a lot.

Rahane was the one who was mentally shot. Last 3 matches completely uncharacteristic.

These performances have been so horrific, even Manjrekar and Shastri are making sense while analyzing it

Sad what is happening to Indian cricket. Caribbean cricket went through the same thing not so long ago. But they're having a bit of a resurgence after a bit of restructuring/selection, so hopefully India can do the same. Maybe Indian cricket as a whole from the top to the bottom needs an overhaul. One of the giants of the game on a mental run of losses, and it doesn't look likely to end in the foreseeable future. Some great players. Dhoni has taken much flak, but he's been ok with the bat and if it wouldn't have been for his runs some of the defeats would have been more crushing. I think he can be blamed for some of his field placements etc this series, but his captaincy shouldn't be questioned. There's nobody better out there to do it anyway.

Skittled out cheaply too often. This needs addressed.

As been said by others serious changes needed. Fletcher has to go. Dhoni would have gone if we had another candidate, luckily for him and unluckily for us we don't, so meh, he'll stay.

I was all for giving Gambhir a last chance, but he really should never put on the Indian cap again. Absolutely pathetic.

Vijay and Rahane (mainly in earlier tests) and Bhuvi to an extent have been the positives, which is good as Pujara and Kohli should hopefully deliver what is expected of them and if the likes of Vijay and Rahane can continue these type of performances, it would be a good line up.

But they need a real kick up their arse. After the experience gained in SA and NZ I was hoping they would show more maturity than they have. But this has to be the last "learning experience". Kick it on from here ffs and justify your talent. Next tour is of Australia, who have a good attack themselves.

Ganguly will be our next coach. You heard it here.
