India's tour of England

66/6 AMG!

Let's see if we can actually clear the tail without them adding 2 or 3 hundred runs

Excellent bowling performance England, now try to build a big lead and win by an innings before the washout!

You not first I've seen complain about him, whats the deal. He averages 44 over 54 test matches and thats still not good enough. Just read your post properly, "away" you say.
He was fantastic at his peak, even won the Test Batsman of the year award but has declined disastrously since.

Disgraceful performance. It's a batting pitch. Expecting England to get around 500 here.

Not for me. He is still the best in the world certainly in one day, 20/20 for me. He has had a very poor series so far however. I think Amla is probably the best test batsmen for me.
Kohli isn't even in the best test batsmen debate. The hype around him is ridiculous.

152 in the first innings..

awful.

2-1 already after being 1-0 up.

It's England, anything can happen.

Who's to say we won't get skittled out for a couple of hundred?

Because
1) The pitch is pretty good.

2) Your bowling is much better than ours.

India's only hope is if Aaron comes in bowling over 90mph and can get the last six wickets for next to nothing. Couple problems though. He probably won't touch 90mph, and they need to get the first four wickets first.

Edit - That's the type of ball I dream of. Shame my inswinger is terrible.

That may be true, but we've only played well in one Test Match this series so far. If Cook is back on song, then I have no doubt we can win it. Cook's performance with the bat has transformed him confidence wise. If he fails again though, then this could end up being very close.

Is it only me or anyone else gets irritated by Manjrekar's commentary in general? Half of the time he talks bollocks. Also somehow, he seems to be on a commentary team a lot of times throughout day. Much more than the good ones!

Barely even a loss, never looks comfortable. I still don't think we'll drop him for the last test mind you. Still, interesting to see who we'd bring in if we did. If its like for like then Alex Lees will I would guess be next in line.

Carberry was unfortunate to be dropped in all honesty

As was Compton.

I was listening to Boycott talking the other day about Ballance and he reckons that the Yorkshire lot think he could naturally be an opener. Perhaps an option would be Ballance up top and Trott (ideally) or Taylor coming in.

Yeah. I think Carberry would have scored good runs vs Sri Lanka and India though. Deserved a home series. Ballance is doing well at 3 so I doubt England would experiment with that. Could be a good option though.

Love Pankaj Singh's catching, so casual.

Its Adam Lyth at Yorkshire who is scoring loads of runs. James Taylor deserves another shot, he's not an opener though. Alex Hales is one who could make a breakthrough soon. Doing well at county level this season in the longer form of the game.

No he's not, the guys played a handful of test matches. Players need to be given a decent shot.
Who's he better than? Certainly no one we've tried pre-Strauss. It's not so much the low scores it's the fact he has a technical flaw that obvious and that critical opening the batting outside off stump.

Ashwin on for the first time in the series. Hoping he bowls a few loose ones that England will put away. Ha he's just been whacked for 6 as I'm typing this.
