India vs NZ

Wow! Great match. Bowlers have certainly given India chance here. 400+ in 4th innings is always tough but it is not impossible.

Somebody tell Dhawan that he's not Sehwag. Should be dropped. Overrated player still living on that Australian innings.

He's gotten confused, as Gavaskar rightly called it. Thinks the only way out of this rut for him is to hit it out.

Vijay's impressing me a lot. Even if he averages 40, the way he's playing it should be enough away from the sub-continent considering the number of balls he eats up.

Great shot from Dhawan.

They conceded 500 on this deck in the first innings. I'd say this is the least they could've done.

In all honesty, the 2 biggest wickets went to fielders -- Jadeja taking Williamson and Rahane taking Taylor. Regardless of result, Zaheer has to go. I'd say Ishant too.

Shami bowled well.

Bad decision that.

Snicko shows a very faint nick.

This guy looks like a super prospect. Ish Sodhi. He's just 21.

Score please?

I'm out and cricinfo etc are fifteen minutes late due to the stupid law case.

think you should have it by now: 87 for 1, stumps.

I've never heard of him but he looks brilliant! I love leg spinners, great to watch.

I'm glad he showed his googly today without it taking a wicket. Commentators kept talking about it a lot.

Hugely looking forward to wake up at 3 tomorrow.

Also -- I know this sounds crazy, but I think Rohit is worth a punt as captain in tests if he shows he can make some consistent runs(or even now actually). He captains Mumbai really well. It sucks that we're playing Dhoni as a specialist captain away. It's like whatever he averages, it doesn't matter. There's a "anyway Dhoni can't make more than 30 away" acceptance about his batting.

Think we've gone so long without runs from #7 away that people don't even know what it could add to the team.

They asked Vijay about DRS yesterday and he said "I can't comment on that. If I could, I would."..

It was a wonderful googly. In a strange way, I hope Pujara and co don't destroy his confidence tomorrow. Why can't we give an extended run to Mishra in the same way?!

Rohit is a long long way away from captaincy. He'll need to be consistently brilliant for more than a year for people to even consider it a serious possibility. Kohli's nailed on to be the next captain. Agree about Dhoni. His batting style even annoys me in the one-dayers but I think I am the only one thinking that.

Specialist captain? Do you even remember what our wicketkeeping situation was before Dhoni came into the team?

Batsmen too didn't do particularly well in first innings, did they? It was not a pitch to get all out on 200. By saying 'least they could have done' you are making it sound like batsmen had done their part in first innings and all blame lies solely on bowlers. If the bowlers were very poor to concede 500, batsmen too weren't great in scoring 200. One can say that if they had got to 350 odd, match could have been different.

How is that relevant if he keeps averaging 25 and we could potentially have better alternatives?

Were you sitting here saying we shouldnt drop Sehwag and Gambhir because our openers situation before them was shite?

it takes an amazing ball to get Pujara out right now.. Kohli and Dhawan need to get to lunch..

Hard to call a 50 inccredible tbh. If these two bat thru tea we should win this.
came in at a very tough time and he's made this India's session. 'Incredible' over the top maybe but this is high quality batting. Especially considering that he had to be very good in his shot selection. Dhawan's been super conservative at the other end as well.

I didn't think he was though. A bit lucky early on, but he did make it India's session.

As for Dhawan being conservative - that is exactly what was needed. This innings may be the making of him.

Like I said, he didn't have good shot selection. He's been poor since lunch, and has now lost his wicket. A lot of pressure on Dhawan now.

He didn't have good shot selection near the beginning but after that he didn't give a sniff.

Post-lunch, not so good.

Squeaky bum time. Rohit doesn't handle pressure well.

Big wicket, just before the new ball too. If India survive this period and then the next 15-20 overs of the new ball, I think they'll go on and win.

Dhawan played very well.

New ball does the trick! Beautiful delivery, but an inside edge!! Poor decision.

feck you BCCI for not having DRS

Pathetic decision. We are gonna lose this now.

Another bullshit decision against India.

Kohli against SA.. Rahane here. If only the retarded BCCI didn't oppose DRS, the last few months may have been very different.

Great session, those late wickets have given the kiwis some momentum.

Been a terrific test match.

DRS or not, that was fecking pathetic. It was a big inside edge.

There are bad decisions made every game. That is the point of DRS. Our retarded board's stance cost us in SA, and will cost us here.

Lovely delivery!! Kiwis firmly on top now.

New ball has done the trick.

Feck.

Time for the captain to do something in tests.

India counter-attacking and now need under 100 runs. These 2 have played some fantastic shots and run very well, good stuff.

Reckon this will end today, but can't be fecked to stay up to watch it. It's been a terrific match and another game which proves Test match is the most exciting format.

Ah crap.

83 with 3 wickets to go.
