India vs NZ

Naah, I am a good host. Worst case I will get you drunk like crazy.

And then stab you once you say India is a decent team.

Imma right? :D

Naah Amol, if I stab Zing, it will take away my fun opportunities in 'other sport' section :p

It's funny how Jadeja has transformed himself from a laughing stock to one of our team's best players in such a short time. Good to see him getting some runs with his batting aswell.

Should be a permanent fixture in the Indian XI, just seems to have that X-Factor.

Well, he was a laughing stock because he got picked as a batting all rounder and he's still mostly crap at batting. Two matches in which he's made runs but been largely out of depth otherwise.

He's a great addition to the side, but let's be honest here, it's because he's such a good bowler and no one saw that one coming.

He's always had the talent but that's beside the point. I'm just a bit surprised at his progress, I remember the outcry when he was selected for Australian home series as a spinner, one year ahead and he's arguably a better bowler than Ashwin and our second best bowler after Shami. His fielding is also pretty amazing.

He was selected as a batsman. Played at #7.

The outcry was that his first class runs shouldn't amount to anything -- and it hasn't.

He's still not a very good batsmen but should be our first choice spinner in both formats.

Pujara plays for the same Ranji team and made runs on the same kind of pitches. Anyone who has played cricket will know that if you've scored multiple triple centuries even at a bad level, it means that person is a talented batsman. It's not a matter of if and butwhen Jadeja shines as a batsman. He's bit of an idiot and loses his head constantly but the talent is there.

Couldn't catch any of the match today..

We're plummeting to new depths in test cricket. How can our bowling be so third rate?

Looks like Ishant did alright today, but it's a fecking wonder he keeps getting into the side. Must be statistically the worst bowler to play 50 matches?

Read a stat on the Caf that he's the only player in history of international cricket who hadn't scored 1000 runs or taken 150 wickets after playing 50 test matches.

I am losing interest in cricket. N Srinivasan is mentioned more on Cricinfo than any player's name and it's just gotten drab. Thank god football is a world sport that cannot be bullied by corrupt Indians.

Watched a bit of the afternoon session. Batting conditions improved and the Kiwis took full advantage.

Williamson looks a very good batsman, been impressed each time I've seen him play recently.

NZ have such a good middle order. McCullum, Taylor and Williamson are all class acts. Taylor especially has improved his consistency in the last month or so.

Nope. Football can only be bullied by billionaires.

McCullum gets to his double hundred off the final ball before lunch. Brilliant captain's knock from him.

Stunning catch to end McCullum's brilliant innings.

Great comeback from the Kiwis considering they were 3 down for 30-odd.

This is highly embarrassing.

 He is just unlucky.

It's not. NZ are a fantastic bowling team. Their batting has potential but is good only for ODIs. So no surprise they score against us in tests as well because we're rubbish.

I think I made a post here about 18 months back saying in a few years, NZ will have one of the best bowling attacks in the world.

They're quality. Boult is very good.

No matter how good they're. To lose 4-0 in ODI series and then get completely destroyed in the first two days is highly embarrassing. Our bowling is extremely rubbish, for all the money BCCI has got, perhaps they can spend it on some bowling coaches rather than playing petty politics.

Same here. Although I do wonder if I would have felt the same if we were doing well and still had the likes of Sachin, Dravid etc. This current lot are very hard to like.

The bowling coach we hire are like the coaching equivalent of Ishant Sharmas. feck all to show for it but will continue sitting there. Eric Simmons and Joe Dawes, wtf have they done? Like 5 years between them and Ishant's still bowling half volleys couple of feet outside off stump.

We've got bowlers with very little potential and they don't play even to that potential mark.

Just watching highlights. Bad shots from Dhawan and Pujara.

Surprising from Pujara. Never see that from him.

I would've normally fancied us to draw this but NZ have scored these runs at a very good rate. Can' believe we're trailing by so much and 4 wickets down after 1.5 days of play roughly.

Just seen the score:(

This really annoys me. Everyone knows our bowling is shite but surely we can work something out that ensures that we at least keep the run rate down! I never feel we have any control of the game at any point when we are bowling.

P.S I was watching this youth WC game they were showing on one of the star channels recently. Was a Ind v NZ game. That NZ team had Southee, Guptil, Anderson, Boult, Williamson (was the captain) all playing for them. Great job having all of them making the grade.

Set an alarm 30 mins late thinking should be good enough to see Rohit and Rahane still at the crease but they're both back in already. And Dhoni's struggling here in the 8 balls I've seen.

Boult's bowling beautifully.

Some of this is world class fast bowling. Few loose balls more than there ought to be, though.

Zaheer's batting is the most embarrassing thing about Indian cricket and that's saying something. Commentator's appalled, guess he's not seen him bat before.

Kiwis bowled some brilliant stuff. Their bowling unit is better than I expected.

Off to a very poor start here, but that mammoth 300 run lead and conditions favouring swing bowling, they really should win this match.

Quality!

Top take from Ishant. Jadeja brilliant as always in the field. Game on.

Shami's bowled beautifully.

wodnerful. Slept at lunch adn woke up. 78 for 7.

And the pitch is turning. Super pitch.

Amongst the great bowling, some of these dismissals have been very, very soft.

105. Probably 10 more than what we should've conceded after 80 for 9 but an excellent performance.

Hope we don't lose more than 1 wicket in this session, but unlikely.

Cracking test match.

A short and fun innings. India bowled well and if they bat sensibly, there's more than enough time to score the 407. But the conditions favour the bowlers so the kiwis should win this match.

I've enjoyed watching this.

fecking hell, McMillan and Richardson are disagreeing over everything.

Jadeja's fielding is quite unreal.
