Future leaders and policy makers of the nation.Who are all these people?
Killing public: OkayMeanwhile, dear leader is back to appeasement. Completely devoid of any shame

Indeed!Killing public: Okay
Torching public bus: Not Okay
the priorities have been set.
People have to know the difference though. The more we treat Hindutva as some sacred concept, the more the lines get blurred.I saw a post yesterday with a person holding Fck Hindutva placard (not a photoshop) with a Nazi symbol next to it. The idiot holding the placard was probably protesting against Savarkar's idea of Hindutva and not the Hindu religion but the majority in the country don't know the difference. Know your effing audience.
The Indian left has failed India and is slowly allowing the right wing extremists to tighten their stronghold through fear mongering.
India's constitution is enshrined in plural values, equality is the basic structure of its constitution. We must strive as one people to ensure that we remain patriots and not nationalists to retain our pluralistic nature. God help India if this is lost on its government and people.
Sounds like the place is imploding, Sults. Seems to be a lot of deep rooted hatred that's been tapped into.
It does seem religious nationalism is now threatening the countries tolerant traditions. If this extremism is allowed to grow, it will, as we have learned from history with other countries drag India’s democracy, economy into a downward spiral and in a worst-case scenario communal riots with terrible consequences. With such threats, the educated element and minorities cannot afford to stand idly by and watch.Sounds like the place is imploding, Sults. The higher than percentage is (86% as per you) the greater the implosion.I'm not so sure, and as usual, I think posters here are very unrepresentative of the wider public. The people protesting are either Muslim (14%) or leftist/liberal students and academics like me. This is not a big coalition that can cause an "implosion".
OTOH, the performance of the ruling party in state elections has been below expectations. It suggests that there is an unpopulrity of the ruling party and their economic record, but it doesn't seem to reflect on Modi.
That’s because he has been shielded and protected pretty well.It suggests that there is an unpopulrity of the ruling party and their economic record, but it doesn't seem to reflect on Modi.
IT Cell head did the same and the result was also against it.Sudhir Chaudhary, Modi puppet bad Zee News Anchor, created a poll on twitter on CAA and majority have voted against it. I'm sure it won't last long but it's still amusing.
Is Sudhir Choudhary Zee’s equivalence to BBC Laura kuenssberg?Sudhir Chaudhary, Modi puppet bad Zee News Anchor, created a poll on twitter on CAA and majority have voted against it. I'm sure it won't last long but it's still amusing.
So you’re saying that India’s famed middle class is broadly in favour of the laws on communal grounds?I'm not so sure, and as usual, I think posters here are very unrepresentative of the wider public. Invoking the Constitution and waving the Tricolour to widen the base of the CAA-NRC protests don’t seem to be working in large parts of Uttar Pradesh. In a state deeply divided on caste lines, support for the protests is split more on the lines of religion than politics.
The state’s main Opposition parties — SP, BSP and Congress — in UP have unequivocally opposed the move. But across the constituencies of Baghpat, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Sambhal and Rampur, many Hindus who voted for Opposition parties during the Lok Sabha elections support the government’s citizenship move.
Their response to the police crackdown in the state — 19 deaths and over 1,100 arrests — is muted, and hardly anyone is willing to declare that the citizenship move should be rolled back.
So it's working, BJP RSS agenda I mean. Tapping into latent Muslim hate and expanding their vote base. There's no real intention to help refugeesOn the ground in Uttar Pradesh, protest divide along religion, not politics

Article mostly interviews RLD and BSP voters. Unanimous support.
Perhaps @berbatrick can help with the exact stats, the Indian middle class is one of (if not the) BJPs biggest vote bank. They're getting what they voted for, and from conversations over the past couple of weeks, they're actually heavily in favor of this.So you’re saying that India’s famed middle class is broadly in favour of the laws on communal grounds?
How do you think this play out over next 3 months? Presumably the cultural damage has been done (a la Brexit or Build a Wall), regardless?Perhaps @berbatrick can help with the exact stats, the Indian middle class is one of (if not the) BJPs biggest vote bank. I have the numbers from 2014 - in most northern states that the richer the person the more likely the BJP vote. I think it is also true of the last Guj assembly polls (2017).
edit - also karnataka in 2014. also works for higer education.
48-52 currently.What was the final result ?
.
Why the hell would the middle class oppose a law which grants citizenship to refugees fleeing persecution? Such laws have always been in place. We have a law in Maharashtra giving preferential admissions in colleges to students of Kashmiri hindu background who were forced to leave Kashmir by the muslims there. That law is 25 years old. I mean feck refugees are the most vulnerable population, who in their right minds would oppose a law giving them citizenship.
Think Congress has already lost the next election.
