I'm sure the Sheikh will be turning the thermostat down in his house now
He only has one year left.£24M? I'm pretty sure Dortmund can get £30M out of them.
He only has one year left.
It will when he signed an extension with them so that they can get money for him this year. That won't make a difference to Dortmund, they'll keep him for the one season and I'm sure City are going to want their man. They need quality in CM.

They won't want to risk pricing him out of a move as they had an agreement that if he signed an extension he could leave this summer. They want money fir him and £24m is better then £0m. Man City know this and are willing to risk low balling them.Yeah and they'll want £30M, especially with him being back to form.

Its very rarely for more then the initial reported price. We'll see eventually what he leaves for.

Besides, why would they risk losing £24m just for an extra £6m?

Except now they are paying £24m it seems. So it seems like Man City have realised Dortmund will take this fee and are pushing the boat out. If Dortmund reject it and Man City go on to look at other players, they may not get another chance to sell him for that and Gundogan will just leave on a free next summer and be unhappy coming into next season. The initial reported fee was £36M and City would have been happy to pay £28M.
This is a feck up by us. No two ways around it.

They want the money, simple as that. Why risk not getting it over a few million.
The only way I see this going over £30m is if another team like United go in for him and start a bidding war. Even then, Gundogan will choose the team in the CL and likely try and force Dortmunds hand to except the lower offer from Man City.Like I said wait and see, can't be assed debating over the fee over a city signing.

Dortmund aren't hardball with selling their players like Bilbao are. They except decent prices for their players under certain circumstances.
It's a sellers market, there are many clubs with £30m available who could use a player of Gündogan quality. They want the money, simple as that. Why risk not getting it over a few million.
Liverpool played hardball. Dortmund don't.It's a sellers market, there are many clubs with £30m available who could use a player of Gündogan quality.
Liverpool ended up getting what they wanted for Sterling last summer.
Yes they do, they kept Lewandowski until the end of his contract in similar conditions.Liverpool played hardball. Dortmund don't.

Why does the price matter?
£30m for Gundogan isn't a rip off.It doens't unless we want him.. If so that's a rip off.

Except he is.It is for 1 year left on his contract and the fact he isn't a world class centre midfielder. Rather put 7mill ontop of that and take a chance on Wiegl or use the same money and get Saul, both are more suited to the game fans want to see. Let City have him, perfect for Guardiola.

Who are we going to get at that level for a better price? It is for 1 year left on his contract and the fact he isn't a world class centre midfielder. Are you telling me Wiegl is better than Gundogan? It is for 1 year left on his contract and the fact he isn't a world class centre midfielder. What midfield playmakers do you think can we buy, that are as good or better than Gundogan, for a better price?Did i not just name two?

That's an odd comment. Weigl is much more a Guardiola midfielder than Gündogan. The latter is more direct and creative, loves running with the ball instead of passing forward in narrow triangles. Weigl on the other hand is kinda Busquets-like (in terms of style, not in terms of quality). It is for 1 year left on his contract and the fact he isn't a world class centre midfielder. No they didn't. Bayern refused to pay for him and both himself and Bayern waited out till his contract was up before leaving on a free. There was nothing Dortmund could do in the matter.Yes they do, they kept Lewandowski until the end of his contract in similar conditions.
Their past transfers. What gives you that idea?
