Iker Muniain

So dropping a player we spent £18m on last summer and Valencia who has been one of our most in-form players for the latter half of this season?
Not to mention Hernandez and Welbeck..

Muniain would improve our team, so would Messi or Ronaldo, however we are not Man City and cannot afford to simply buy every good player that comes along, the priority has to be CM and unless we are going to buy 2 top quality CMs AND Muniain then I just can't see why we would do it.

Is De Gea the first Spaniard to play for United? I guess I'm not expecting many young Spaniards, especially ones who love tiki-taka style football, which we're not famous for playing, picking us as their first choice transfer location. As possibly the biggest youth prospect in his age group, it's hard to think he won't go to Barca or Real.

Then there's Bielsa who will surely be extremely opposed to any of his best players leaving, and their executives don't talk about their players have huge buyout clauses every week in the papers to let people know they're willing to sell.

Though if he's smart he'll look at how Ronaldo developed here and see United as a great place to become a superstar.

I like Muniain, but we don't "need" anyone in his position. Now Javi Martinez - he'd be a much more useful signing imo (sod off Bayern)

No.

they said that when we bought Evra and Vidic, the point is if he's quality why not?

Munain Should hopefully be the focus now until meulensteen or phelan come out and tell the world we are interested in him like theyve done with Hazard, van wolfswinkel, nasri etc

Say Martinez will move on.

Not this Onion fella though, won't be moving anywhere.

The Basque players have been discussed quite a bit as they are hard to gauge in transfer speculation...The club is solvent and aren't in need of selling...particularly the players who have yet to hit their prime

Initially, I thought a player like Muniain was perhaps an easier target than others but lately I'm less confident of that...I think Javi Martinez is now the most likely to be sold and there won't be wholesale changes...unless Bielsa exits

Would be a insane signing. Much better signing than Hazard imo. But it will probably not happen, atleast not now.

You rate him as more talented than Hazard?

I've seen nothing of Hazard and just a few games of Muniain in two of which I was blown away by his talent against us.

Think he'd also be my no.1 choice signing. I love the character he shows in a game, always stands up to be counted. Works his ass off all game, always wanting the ball and driving at teams from first to last whistle. Work rate like that is infectious and would help us collectively defend from the front. Fergie loves players like that, would be surprised if he didn't have his eye on him.

Muniain is very good for 19, but he's not nearly as good as Hazard in terms of technical skills, finishing, passing, etc. (although he does have a better work rate from what I've seen). Still at 19, he'd be a great buy for a club like, Arsenal, PSG etc.

Well, I have seen more of Muniain than Hazard, so maybe it would be wrong to say that Muniain is the better. But his younger and he got a hell of a talent. Will probably stay in spain. Hopefully SAF wants him now, because it could come to a bidding war for him next season.

I am with you on this one, he isn't that good. It is the headless chicken effect coming into play.

Sorry to say but Hazard looks pretty special to me, the question is if he can transfer that form from Ligue 1 to the Premier League.

Thats a result of Bielsas tactics to be fair, yes I was gung ho about Bielsa earlier in the year and I still think he is a mad genius, but his aggressive style would make Muniain look a bit all over the place. But I think the lad has ability and his work rate is phenomenal to say the least. Put him in our setup he would flourish.

You should see Iker in the NT with the U-21 side along with Thiago...They had formed a very deadly combo

Munian has showed some good courage in lost causes (Copa del Rey and EL finals). He's so young and so technical, United should try to sign him cause he's a superstar in the making

We have absolutely zero chance of getting him.

I am not saying that he isn't a good player and obviously at his age he has a lot of potential still to fulfil.

That said, if you look at his stats this past season (and I got this impression when I saw him live) he doesn't really excel at anything. He doesn't score enough, he doesn't create enough and his passing is mediocre (at the top level). It seems to me that what he does excel at is work rate which there is no problem with but I often think that it skews the perception of many a football fan.

I really think that we need player with more finesse at this point.

Come on Fergie. I don't believe you don't want any Bilbao players after watching that team dismantle your side twice especially Llorente, Martinez and this little kid. I mean you had watch Ronaldo making mickeys out of John O'Shea and Gary Neville and you knew you had to sign him before leaving Lisbon
