If you could offer Ruben one piece of advice

Keep this guy as far away from Amorim as possible.

Terrible advice apart from first and last one

Normally I'd say style of play is more important than results as football is after all entertainment.

But he's not wrong on Ten Hag. He managed to find a style of play that was just not conducive to winning football matches but was also mind numbingly boring to watch. Which is an achievement in itself I suppose. As if we didn't care about results we could have been playing some legendary swashbuckling stuff.

Not advice but I'd like to see him give some of the young players more game time. At least to let their energy and workrate show up some of the senior players who have grown accustomed to phoning it in and being rewarded with an appearance fee bonus.

That's the main thing I've struggled to acclimatise to since the Ferguson era. Going from a time when standards were so high that players would have been annihilated by the manager and team mades for one mistake in a game; one example of a lapse in concentration. Even if we were winning, if someone lost their man who wasn't following to the letter the expectation of how they were performing their role, they were in the trouble. Any sign there was even something thinking about, possibly considering taking their foot off the gas in a game.

Going from that to: "Well he's been dreadful for months, but we should keep picking him just in case the day dawns when he deems us worthy to see him make an effort" has been the one thing, above ALL else, I've hated about these last 11 years.

Honestly I'd give back every cup we have won in that period in return for never allowing that to be the standard for starting a match for this football club again.

Another vote for getting rid of Rashford.

Don't fall into the trap of trying to "get the best out of Marcus". He might have a purple patch that lulls you into a false sense of security as to how good he is, but as certain as night follow day he will always revert to his default setting: sullen mediocrity, that drags the rest of the team down.

Play your style of football exactly how you want to play it and stick to it, don't follow the previous manager in getting lost in how you want to play and restarting the process every season.

And remember.

None of these players are bigger than the club.

Either sell Rashford and all the overpaid duds or value front foot dominant football

Don't take any shit of the players and if they are not giving 100% in training and gameday get them the feck out of the club.

You mean Arsenal under Wegner? Yes we’re not, we’re much worse. Since SAF retired, we’ve only been in the top four 2 seasons in a row once.

Honestly the delusion of our fans talking about challenging for titles when we’ve on average finished about 5th in the league over the past 11 seasons is hilarious.

The first part of solving a problem is being realistic about what it is and its size. A lot of our fans sound like Liverpool’s in the Dalglish years.

Doesn't mean we should be aspiring to only make top 4 regardless.

Dont change your style after a few bad results.. stick to the plan and believe in yourself.

Don't buy Real Madrids 30yr old rejects. Even if they have been 'world class' in the past.
I wouldn't mind depending on their mentality, game time expectations and salary. You want the right mentality in your squad. But most of the time, any player from Madrid will be drama queen's though.

If a player doesn't do what you've told them to do, tell them. If they are still not doing it after 10 mins, sub them off.

Yeah but generally their mentality is they don't care as they're at the end of their career, but their expectations are still the same as if they were 21 and they still expect £300k a week because of it. Thats why they're all drama queens.

Don't touch them with a barge pole is my recommendation. I always ask one question: Would any of those Madrid players, have played for United in their prime between the ages of 22-28? If the answer is NO, then they can feck off. Were not a retirement home for Madrids cast offs.

1. Do not believe your own hype. United has this weird behavior on thinking that the manager is a Demi-God, and surrounded by people who think that, it makes managers arrogant pricks. It happened to what were nice people, like Moyes, Ole and EtH, so do not fall for that. You are just a very unproven manager until you win the big trophies.

2. Forget about the United way, just do what you do best. If you want to play 3-5-2 or whatever, just do that, regardless if the media say that this is not the United way.

3. Do not push for specific players. You are a football manager, not a scout. Your time is spent on improving your team, not on scouting players all over the world. So let’s admit it, you do not know much about the players so no need to pretend.

4. Ask the club to sign a couple of attacking players. Memes aside how attack wins matches but defense wins titles, the attack is the most important area of the pitch. Matches, and consequently titles, are won by scoring goals, we do not have a single reliable goal scorer.

Essentially, all big mistakes that EtH made.

Wear Sunscreen,
Play Rashford
And don't ever listen to the caf as it's full of poor opinions.

Amorim, you got to pass better today yeah, please. Pass better today, score a goal, and work on your first touch as well, yeah?

Don't let the job go to your head. There's something about this job that seems to make our managers power hungry, arrogant bellends and as soon as that happens things start to fall apart.

Stay grounded and just do your job without any drama.

Freeze-out Rashford so that the club have absolutely no choice but to look to move him on in January / the Summer.

I'm past arguing about this and I don't even say this with malice...it's better for him to leave, hes clearly miserable, and it's better for us to bag the £40m or so that we'll be able to use instantly to offset multiple transfers in, since he's homegrown.

While we need to seriously improve our league position, please don't become one of those clubs who just prioritise the mythical 'top 4 trophy' and throw the opportunity of winning actual trophies in chase of it.

We need to keep winning cup competitions, as we've been doing the last couple of seasons, as well as being more competitive in the league. Doing just one or the other, but not both, isn't good enough. We're not Spurs or Villa and delighted just to be in the CL while remaining trophyless.

Well, certainly don't pay a huge fee for them!

Snapping up a player like Eriksen, past his best but still capable of contributing, is fine when it's on a free. But paying £70m for what he offers would be awful. And the same goes with the likes of Casemiro or any other 30+ player.

Make the most of the honeymoon period (the rest of this season).

He has a real opportunity to review the squad and weed out any bad characters (Weeding out bad characters is even more important that players below required quality). Be utterly ruthless in this time, if a player doesn't have the right character then get rid knowing the fans will back the decision 100%. I think the only players fans would be really upset about losing are Mainoo and Garnacho.

Sell Rashford while he still holds any value. Rule with iron fist. Create a wide squad of quality players as with the amount of games and intensity he expects he will need it to prevent players being run into the ground.

Put down stupid journalists who ask stupid questions in one sentence, don't act like you owe them anything. Also never give up to outside pressure.

Here's my list (I am sorry but I don't believe in a magic wand that could sort everything)

a- While confidence is key do not be complacent. Speak to former managers and coaches, understand what went wrong and who backstabbed them. Once you have a good idea of what went wrong make sure that the club sorts those issues. Else you'll sink like the other guys did

b- no clean slate. Some of our players are experts on two things ie failing and getting managers sacked. If you snooze you lose.

c- be fair. If a player is doing well then play him irrespective on whether he's a new signing or not.

d- do try to understand the EPL. For example 5ft8 CBs might look cool in Portugal but they'll be wiped away in the EPL. Strikers need pace and physicality in the EPL as well.

e- Don't spend big on your first set of signings. Big fee signings rarely make it at United and if they fail then you fail. Just ask ETH (Antony), Ole (Maguire), Mou (Pogba) and LVG (Di Maria)

f- Try and avoid signing every player from Sporting/Portugal. It makes you look small time, something no United manager can afford being. Also note that it rarely work

Don’t be afraid to drop players when they’re out of form regardless of their status in the squad.

Oh and one more thing, you must find the jade monkey before the next full moon.

The "United Way" isn't about a playing style, or flashy players, or anything to do with people from the past (besides the obvious 2) Its about fighting, winning, biting down on your gumshield and battling till the final whistle in every game. Do it YOUR way, and we'll support you ALL the way.

We're Manchester United, the greatest club this country has ever seen. It's time we reminded everyone of that fact.
