If ten Hag was sacked tonight, who would you have as an interim?

In the event that we are changing manager then I think it's entirely plausible that the higher ups still hold the players to account and don't let them down tools. Or if they do, I expect that it will be noted and raised as an issue between themselves or the next manager. I do think there's every chance that they tell the next manager not to rely on 'x player' as they will be sold, if their performance and attitude is clearly as bad as you are claiming it would be. I just can't see it being tolerated at all anymore.

I'm not saying anybody will down tools, just that they won't be giving 100%, it's human nature.

Besides, there's no chance the football department are going to deny any new manager the use of one of our players, given how threadbare our squad is.

Keano or Ole and then De Zerbi or Ange or Emery in the summer.

Act now INEOS or get left behind by Bayern, Liverpool and Barcelona in the Head Coach race.
Agreed. We've got to extend his contract as they will be after ETH already probably.

Never thought it'd come to wanting José or Ole back (even as interim managers) for me, but here we are.

With ten Hag, the final will be a mere formality for City. With the aforementioned two, there would be some hope at least.

And he would do it for the love of the club. And he has been the most successful manager statistically incl Fergie against Pep.

I dont think sacking EtH now makes a difference but I do think this should have settled any doubts they might have had about whether they should move on in the summer. They should start looking for new managers now.

And Keano would be a terrible choice imo.

Mourinho for the cup final, 6 at the back, 4 in midfield, nick a goal or win it on penalties would be our only chance in the game.

The manager is not our main problem guys. I doubt any manager can make us play like City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa or Spurs. We are where we are with the squad we have. That’s the reality.

So you think this is the best we can do with the players we have? Seriously?

Like the commentators were saying today, we have a lot of individual talent. Ten Hag has just failed massively in his attempts at making a functional, balanced, well coached team out of it.

Really? Villa and Spurs? It took those coaches 2 months to implement their style.

Sacking ETH at this time is just pointless.
Let him have his final and then move him on after.

It’s gotta be de Zerbi. Sign a whole new back line, sell rashford, Antony, Casemiro, wan bissaka, Lindelof.

Always thought Antony was ten hag sacking himself (why he is giving a chance makes no sense)

De Zerbi will be able to use Hojland, Garnacho, Amad, Fernandes, Maino and Onana.

Truly

From my popup news feeds.

sources close to Ten Hag believe he will walk out at the end of the season if he doesn’t get assurances from Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group about their commitment to him.

Mind boggling that they could even make that up.

Joel Glazer, he's been at the club a long time so should be able to slot in as manager for 7 games.

You're forgetting about the injuries. He said today his first choice striker, Martial, wasn't available, nor his first choice centre half, Luke Shaw.

Please not Tuchel. You know just by looking at the guy that his handshake is limper than a brown bag of maggi noodles that’s been sitting in a bucket of warm milk for a week. And that’s before he opens his mouth and you hear his creepy fecking voice.

I’m not saying I can prove he has a dungeon under his gaff where he dresses underage goats up in k-pop outfits and interferes with them, but when himself and Daniel Farke get arrested by interpol I’ll be the guy at the back nodding knowingly.

Ole/Mourinho as interim until the end of the season, with no extension however well we perform during the period.

I don’t think we will. But it gives the fans something. A bit of a statement of intent by Ineos I guess.

I think they ballsed that up in Dec/Jan when we had a real shot at getting the top 4. Now I see it as a pointless exercise. As well save us some money now as I am sure there is a get out clause if we don't make the top 4.

I could maybe see Ole coming back in as interim but why do you think Jose would want to and what would he bring to the table if he did come back?

Gives us a better chance in the cup final, without a doubt (even if it's from 1% to 5% chance). It's a trophy. We should be doing all we can to give ourselves a better chance in the final, to get revenge on last year.

just for the FA Cup final.
Mourinho would love to have one more FA Cup in his trophy cabinet and it will help him find another job

I don't think he'd come back for another game against Pep that he's likely to lose. Even if that game is for a trophy.

This. Ole has his juju out against Pep somehow and I am sure if he is going to be appointed as a caretaker we have a bigger chance to win the FA Cup. I remember that I even joked if every manager in PL was Pep then Ole would win the league

It would be nice to give Ole the chance to get his trophy and restore his reputation after how it ended last time too. We won't do it, of course, but this team is absolutely desperate for some kind of change.

Yeap. He would risk it again just for the love of the club.

He had a far healthier squad. And even in the games he best Pep we relied on some luck (as we always do). He wasn't anything special, just like Ten Hag isn't special vs Liverpool despite having 2 wins and 1 draw vs them at OT.
Luck would be beating them once by an OG or deflected shot. Did you not see the away game against them where we came straight out the blocks and went for it and went 2-0 up pretty early. That was pretty special.

Not Ole as some have mentioned. You can’t bring in an ex full time manager essentially for an FA cup final. It has to be assistant manager.

We were far better against big clubs than the shit show every week this season.

Also no, it's not luck. You are saying he had healthier squad, EtH had first first team with only 2 players missing and was outplayed by Coventry. EtH being shit has very little to do with injuries.

2019-20 Vs City 2-1 - We had players like James, Lingard, Fred, McT, Maguire, Lindelof starting. We missed our most creative player Pogba and if Im not wrong Matic too.
2019-20 vs City 2-0 - We switched to 3 ATB and had Williams as LB, again Pogba was injured and missed the game, Rashford was injured. We had James, Fred, Williams as our starting players.

2019-20 vs City lost 3-1 in league up - We had Andreas Pereira as CM, lingard as AM, James as RW, Williams as LB, Jones as CB
Won return leg 1-0 with Williams as LB , Fred and Matic CM pair, Lingard as AM. Rashford missed the game with injury.

2020-21 vs City drew 0-0 - We had full team with players like McT, Fred as CM, Maguire Lindelof as CB,
2020-21 vs City won 2-0 away -McT and Fred CM pair, James as RW.
Lost 2-0 vs City in league cup.

Ole had far weaker squad but set up team much better than the clown show this season. Not that I want him back as care taker manager but we were lot better under him than EtH. EtH is just clueless, only thing that's going for him is his reputation.

Ole had most of his players suited to his system effectively fit for him. Ten Hag beat Liverpool without Casemiro, any CF, Licha and no left back. What's your point?

I'm not getting hustled into a silly side debate. My point was never that Ole ball was worse than what we saw against Coventry.

Ole was a manager for vibes and hi5s, allowing ill discipline to seep through, not really focusing on a structure and yes having form against Pep that let's face it, was never sustainable had he stayed. For an interim he's obviously not a play, and it would send a shite message to the squad too.

Like it or lump it, ten hag got us to 3 finals in 2 years. It's more than likely that he won't see beyond the season but we should let the man finish it because we wouldn't be any better off from an interim for such a small handful of games left.

Ole. As much as I despise his tenure as manager he has the number on Pep, and as a club legend a major trophy under his name would be really nice.
