The thread is talking about an interim solution, not a permanent one. It's all hypothetical anyway because Ten Hag will see the season out but it wouldn't make sense to appoint someone who could get the permanent gig on the basis they beat City. The end of Ole's previous tenure here would ensure that wouldn't happen.
The way his time at the club is reflected on is pretty unfair anyway. He was a nearly man, granted, but he certainly wasn't incompetent. We finished 3rd and 2nd in consecutive seasons, better than any other United manager in the last decade. We had several good results against Pep's City team with him in charge, got to an FA Cup final and David de Gea was largely responsible for the Europa League final loss.
