This is what I'm hoping will be the semis. I've had enough of SL getting through and bottling it every year, it's time a different team got the chance to prove themselves at this stage. NZ look like a well-drilled unit.
 
Why have they left out Dernbach? Who will provide me with entertainment on a boring Monday at the uni now that Mr. Tattoo is gone? :(

Big congratulations to the Netherlands. 2 fairly close defeats and now this win. They've given a lot better account of themselves then Bangladesh.

There is no such thing as a pointless game. This is the world cup, every game is important. A top rated test nation with all the money and resources should not be losing to minnows that don't have ODI status.

Yup, I am. Born and raised in Norway though so I don't have a massive connection with the country. Hope they beat Windies tomorrow. ;)

Who ever decided to appoint Broad a captain needs their heads examining.
 
Malinga's hoping his debut as captain goes better with the ball than it has with the bat!

Good stuff from the Kiwis, they should win this if they bat sensibly...
 
The ironic thing is we'd had a surprisingly respectable tournament up until now form a batting point of view, putting in probblay the best two run cahses we've veer managed in T20 cricket in the last couple of matches. Looked like we'd finally come to terms with how you ahve to bat in this form of the game.

Hopefully this was just down to total lack of concentration, playing minnows having already gone out. Plus the fact that it's in the contract that England always put in at least one awful performance. The timing was awful though, just when it was looking like we could finish this terrible winter with a little glimmer of hope.

Williamson is an impressive player.
 
Sri Lanka win is probably the best for a competitive semi final? New Zealand pretty much always lose in semi finals, awful record.
 
We're likely witnessing the best 20/20 bowling in World cup history.

They were really unlucky imo. All the games so far had dew in the second half. Their decision to bowl first was based on that. There is no way they'd have bowled first otherwise.
 
SL are imo the best team in this tournament.

They're world number 1s and have the best mix of batting and bowling going, especially in these conditions, a freak loss against England doesn't change that in my mind.

He scores at 75s looking at his stats. Hardly quick by anyones reckoning.

I'd have probably given Kieswetter the chance if I was England. Probably batting lower than Bopara mind you.

Think the Windies will just be a little bit too strong for Pakistan but it should be a good game.

Good stuff so far. If Windies can get 130+, that will be somewhat of a competitive score on this pitch.
