120 was par on that wicket

Klaasen said chasing 77 last week was really hard work v Sri Lanka and he's a machine.

I am losing my motivation to defend the Pakistan lads as my g.f just got back with a bottle of wine but I'll be back in two hours.

Thought they lost a tight game on a terrible wicket.

Pakistan have 4 openers at the top and then 7 tailenders. Most shocking composition of an XI I’ve seen in a long time.

I agree with you but I still think they should’ve done better. They didn’t look like a side with a game plan, but maybe they’re just shit? Why’s Imad at 5? It’s like they forgot to bring batters

Oh dear Pakistan :lol::lol: You really are something. This is horrendous. Absolutely horrendous.

Bumrah saying the team thought it was under par, after seeing the sun come out and flattening out the pitch a little.

Pakistan won the toss, made good use of the early pitch conditions and restricted India to a low total. They'll rue not chasing this, imo. The freebie runs given away at the end of the Indian innings will also hurt

Only Pakistan made it tight. Once you are 80/3 in 14 overs and still failed to win with wickets in hand then there is no defense.

40 runs needed in 6 overs and you lose by 6 runs with 3 wickets remaining. I mean :lol:

Great display from both sets of quicks but Bumrah the standout. Pakistan winning the toss was huge, giving their bowlers the better conditions but they needed to restrict India more than they did. Think 120 was par on that wicket, which is why Rohit probably felt they needed 15-20 runs more. Theoretically Pakistan should have done better but they also have a weak batting lineup outside of the top 4 and maybe Iftikhar, do they not have anyone else they could have selected?

Scotland about to hammer Oman.

Think England are fecked.

Hardly. Scotland will lose to Australia and England will trash Oman and defeat Namibia to progress on NRR

Most probably one of NZ or WI miss out.

They’re a bunch of morons to drop Saim Ayub. He’s a ten ball 20 run kind of batter.

I get people are angry at how we played but honestly, other than Pant, no batsman looked anywhere near at ease playing on this pitch. Pant should've been out 5 times before he even reached 20. This was unequivocally a difficult pitch to bat on. No batsman who tried to play aggressive played well and it was always going to be a difficult chase.

80 with seven wickets remaining, only needing about 40 from 6 overs.
I dunno...

India were 80/3 after 10 overs and got dismissed for 119. It was a very hard pitch for non-top order batsmen.

It wasn't a collapse per se.

Yeah exactly, Pant only looked good after those ugly first 15-16 runs. This was a tough pitch.

I seen India won but feck me they didn't bowl Pakistan out? Jesus

It’s very conceivable that Pakistan, NZ, Sri Lanka, England are knocked out in the groups.

When did i say India bowled out Pakistan? The fact that Pakistan couldn’t chase the target with wickets in hand makes it even more embarrassing.

Scotland’s result against Oman means there’s a high chance England won’t qualify.

India are the favourites (I mean really it will be Australia)

I didnt say you did, i was a question hence the "?". I assumed they did when they were able to defend the score. Your post was my realisation they defended the score without bowling them out. I was in shock

That was Pakistan's game. Rizwan should be held accountable here. You played so many dot balls and then tried to play such a dumb shot against Bumrah. The moment he got out, Pak panicked.

India got out of jail but that second half batting approach by them was shocking. Have to do better next time.

Thought they lost a tight game on a terrible wicket.
I think that about sums it up to be honest I thought 119 was a trifle under par even on that wicket but I didn't think Pakistan were massive favourites and I wasn't too surprised at the result.

Be serious, Eng will easily make up any RR defict against Oman and Namibia.

Afgan and WI qualifying over NZ is an upset but not a very big one. Current NZ team is one of the weakest in recent years since many of the players seem past their peak.

Bangla over SRL is also not a big upset.

Looking at the BBC reporting, at 72-2 Pakistan had 91% chance of winning.

Pakistan knew what they had to get and the rate to get and the ability of who was coming out
They didn't have to try force a score like India first innings. I can't see this as anybodys game from that point despite a few overs left for bumrah.
Honestly think Pakistan let the pressure get to them... Again

But Pakistan losing to USA is worse anyway

England will still play against Namibia and Oman. Not sure why you guys are talking about NRR. They'll easily trash the two and make up the deficit.

I really don't think they will. This coach and captain combo looks like a car crash and the pitches are seemingly nearly universally hard to bat on. They'll need some exceptional bowling performances if they're to progress (and to avoid the rain).

Like @Utd heap, I too thought Bumrah was only decent yesterday with an average 4th over. Bowled a few full tosses.

Yesterday the pitch won the game more than Bumrah or the Indian bowling unit as I am seeing credited online.

Bumrah bowls out of the world spells every few days in the IPL on far more docile tracks..

and I thought only Indians fans are pessimistic about their team.
