ICC T20 World Cup 2022

I don’t understand how a professional Athlete who’s only job is to play and train cricket, can be so undedicated to getting fit. Rohit Sharma looks like someone who hasn’t burnt a calorie in his life.

I feel like the days of unfit cricketers are numbered, you look at teams like England and they run everything, chase everything and they do it hard. In a format where 1 or 2 runs so often make a difference you can’t afford not to play like that

I think it was after the second ball.

I find it difficult to believe that you don't see how the powerplay (that's six overs, btw - the time after which we knew we were in deep trouble) is what made the difference in the score you chased down. Perhaps it is easier to double down on your point than agree on the clear and obvious alternative conclusion which would mean giving credit to people who actually seem to understand their team much better.

Winner's narrative, so make of it what you please.

That said, no denying that it shouldn't have been so one sided, England should have been made to work for those runs, easy or otherwise, but India just gave up in the face of some fabulous batting.

We'll agree to disagree on that.

I think India are a great side and they just need to make a few tweaks to their team. A leg spinner and aggressive openers are a must. Yadav is the most in form T20 batsmen in the world.

He was always a chubby feck. Probably why he struggled as a middle order batsman because he had to run a few runs, rather than see out dots and boundaries
It actually really frustrates me when I see any sportsman in such bad shape.

Many of us dream of being in their position in sport. The hardest part of the game is having the talent. The easiest part is getting fit. It’s unforgivable to be an over weight athlete at this level. He’s literally only got a beard to hide his chubb.

The Yadav wicket was massive.

Kohli is also hinting at this stage of his career that he's the man you want in a chase - not in setting a total.

The funny thing as expected the rahul and rohit's innings will not be highlighted and everything will be put on the bowlers. Yes our bowlers were horrible today but rahul and rohit have been horrible for the whole tournament and a 50 against Zimbabwe doesn't change a thing.

Exactly. Just being fit and in shape across the whole team will win you many games without involving batting and bowling. It could be argued fielding is the most important aspect of the game, especially in T20. Being super fit is the difference between stopping a 4 and not even being in the picture as the ball goes for 4.

Wow - that was such a clean professional job by England. Absolutely dominated the semi final.

Yeah, even Bumrah's not defending this today

The audacity to shift all blame on the bowlers there, wow. It's as if Rohit cannot see how his counterpart outdid him in every single department tonight, batting most of all. He scored 27 off 28 as an opener setting a target in a WC T20 semi final on a pitch where 180 would have been dicey, take a little responsibility, perhaps?

Yeah selfish feck

England analysts mentioning the India slowness. The interviewer should have asked Rohit that.

Rahul dravid was just asked and he reluctantly admitted we were slow but then said England bowled well. Idiots can't blame rohit and future captain KL Rahul.

I think they're being a tad harsh. 9 times out of 10 scoring 168 in a T20 semi final will get you a good game.

Blown away today. Take your hat off that you called it wrong but i don't think it's some kind of disgrace.

I think disgrace is harsh but it's right to be mentioned when it's been an obvious feature in the tournament.

That was incredible. One of the best batting displays I've seen from England in an ODI, if not all forms.

Now we watch the weather forecast for Sunday with baited breath....

I know it doesn’t look great by those stats but it could also be argued it’s not necessarily a winning formula either considering 5 out of the top 6 on there didn’t even qualify for the semi final. India should be higher than that though considering they had an easy group.

This.

Dravid was candid that except last 5 overs we lost every phase of the game. He also said that even at half time they thought they were short and needed at least 180/185 minimum. But morons here know the pitch better it seems to say India did well to get 168.

Eh score depends on the pitch and conditions. Score 160+ on Perth and it is way above par and a winning total. On a flat deck teams chase 160-170 in T20s easily. Yes, semis can add some pressure and if we had taken 2-3 English wickets in first 10 overs then we could have choked them. But you can not rely on such things while evaluating a game.
