ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Eh score depends on the pitch and conditions. Score 160+ on Perth and it is way above par and a winning total. On a flat deck teams chase 160-170 in T20s easily. Yes, semis can add some pressure and if we had taken 2-3 English wickets in first 10 overs then we could have choked them. But you can not rely on such things while evaluating a game.

You don't have the bowling.

There's a wrist spinner sat on the bench, surely it should be a certain selection in T20 matches.

We have got ourselves in a pickle due to a collection of bowlers who can not bat at all. This translated into Chahal getting benched since can Ashwin adds a bit to the batting and you also have Axar as a spinner.

Nah, its just common sense, people were self combusting after 2 overs.

I'm doing exactly that - not making sweeping judgements and watching the match...You were posting like a child.

Anyway I'll leave it there.

 You take comments on a match thread way too seriously. It was exaggerated of-course. But first 6 overs absolutely set us back a lot. All analysts are saying the same now that India lost both power plays and you don't win many T20 matches when that happens.

The thing is though - none of them can really smack it anyways, so there's no point?

Not to seriously mate - just irritating seeing stupid shit when you want to enjoy and talk Cricket.

Usually different in here from the football threads which I avoid like the plague for that same reason.

Dravid was candid that except last 5 overs we lost every phase of the game. He also said that even at half time they thought they were short and needed at least 180/185 minimum. But morons here know the pitch better it seems to say India did well to get 168.
Sehwag and Ajay Jadeja also ripping rahul and rohit. Scoring 62 in 10 overs in t20 is not a good cricket. It is just like starting a football game slowly and then going down 2 goals in first 30 minutes and then saying it is fine because we still have 60 odd mins.

Even had we won today, I would have been critical of that batting approach. Funny how some english fans of all fail to understand. Losing is fine but at least show some fight, play some fearless cricket.

I rather lose WC knockouts playing Shaw and Kishan in opening than seeing this gutless performance. Same rather see siraj or some other young bowlers in t20s than see Bhuvi or shami or Ashwin. Not that hard to understand.

Critical of the batting approach is fine - I agree with it.

It was not critical though, it was hysterical. 'The game is over, congrats England!'

Childish!

I don't think India are favorites especially after injuries to Jadeja and Bumrah. Bowling is weak and inexperienced. Batting on paper may look good but it depends on how our top 3 players. If we have a reserved version of Rahul/Rohit then we will be struggling to go past group stage.

I would put Australia as favs and then Eng/Ind and Pakistan

Not a surprise England and Pakistan are in finals. Surprised about Australia.

India have performed as expected and my worry about top 3 was proven to be right.

That's what frustration does. Especially when many expected that would happen. It is like starting this version of Ronaldo and expecting things to go well.

even in his pomp his strike rate was only slightly more than 100.

This is a damn funny place to be when India lose  kept me well entertained since the match finished

We just need someone to have a dig at the BCCI/conspiracy/IPL taking over and we could be set for the rest of the day.

Lot of laughing at Pakistan after game 1 by some of our fans.

Not funny anymore eh

They really did get lucky though by getting through. I don’t really like this format though. Group stage and then 1 game to a final?
They’re probably going to win the damn thing now.

Wow  Even worse when you consider that 1 or both openers didn't make it thru that powerplay.

Most of us were just being brutally realistic, we knew exactly what was coming. And that's not to take away from England, they gave a superb performance and would have likely beaten us even if we were up for it from ball 1

The Final will be shown on FTA tv on Sunday if it goes ahead. So most of the country will realise that the team is actually in the final.

I'm scarred by the KP days. Also, it's more SSN that are arrogant.

I think there's more of it going about the Test team than ODI. An assumption that England should always be one of the top test sides. Less so around ODI.

How the hell are England arrogant exactly?
I love this england side. Buttler being my favorite. Far from arrogant. Not that Indian players are arrogant but their style of cricket is just not for me, especially in LOI.

Since when have Pakistan won anything of note dominating from the start? This is how we play :D The one tournament we were dominating from the start, WC 99, we got embarrassed in the final.

I prefer the format like in the ODI World Cup with everyone playing each other and then having a semi-final, final stage.

Brutal innings from Buttler and Hales. Bowlers did a solid job as well, Jordan especially given he's only played once in the last 3-4 months.

Should be a great final, hopefully the forecast is wrong and we get a full game.

It finished the same as last year which is quite worrying for India. Feel bad for Kohli and Pandya, the only 2 that really turned up today.

Fantastic batting from us though, Hales and Buttler seem to be coming into form at the perfect time. Bring on the final.

This is actually funny cos its not like India are trying to smash through the PP and risk going into the lower order. They are playing like they have no lower order and trying to protect them.

If Ashwin adds to the batting, then at least go for it.

Bizarre
