ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Same was said for today where the record of team batting first winning is the most skewed in this WC, yet the chasing team won comfortably.

Point still stands just because it didn't go that way today?

Fact is finals should never be on used wickets. No need at all.

Probably agree on used wickets. Point was the toss/pitch is not going to be big enough factor to account for tilting it in favour of one side significantly, unlike UAE due to the dew factor. It is not just today's game, Eng also won against Lanka after losing the toss at SCG.

Jordan is not a bad replacement and don't forget that we are missing our best bowler, Bumrah, as well.

England are missing Topley and Archer as well. Irrespective of that, India have greater depth as well so Bumrah is a great loss, the other bowlers are top quality to a level Jordan is not.

I'd actually play Liam Dawson but we won't.
I saw speculation that both Wiley and Jordan might come in for Wood and Malan. I think playing Wiley against our top order should be a non brainer. Changing winning combination is not ideal but I would even explore dropping Woakes for Wiley.

Our bowling unit has been surprisingly excellent so we will only make the enforced change.

Salt will come in for Malan, probably as a floating 6. Stokes to stay at 3.

Wood being out is a killer blow.

Jordan is a huge downgrade and we're already missing Archer and Topley.

Can't see us making the final now.

Heavy rain forecast for Sunday - likelihood it will be a washout.

Monday doesn't have the best forecast either. Could be joint winners.
Within the two days they will get 10 overs in somehow, Just that it will make the mockery of the final. They might even have a super over as a possibility to decide the winner in extreme case.

It really would be symbolic of this World Cup to have a washout final!

It’s been riddled with rain all tournament. Someone thought it would be an excellent idea to have the final at Melbourne which is notorious for its unpredictable weather. Thunder showers forecast all day!

I know it would cause logistical issues but surely there is a way to change the venue to the next nearest one when it’s clear from the forecast it’s going to be rain.

30K fewer seats. Where would they go?

Not sure but it’s surely better than having no event and all tickets being refunded? Maybe refund the 30k people who bought last?

Too late, probably. The idiots should've played all Melbourne games at the Docklands arena or whatever it's called. It's a shame we don't have more indoor stadia...would solve a few problems but the reality is they'd cost too much.

I know it’s low chance of rain, but india go through to the final if tomorrows game is a washout.

You'll be without Kapil Dev and all.
I think we will be fine without Kapil Dev as long as we have umpires performing well for India. Also, won't mind ashwin running out a non striker batter, just for some fun.
