ICC T20 World Cup 2022

NZ were about 20 short.

Conway and Williamson played out 62 balls for 67 runs - SR of 108.

Unfortunately I think Pakistan will win the whole thing.

Excellent performance. Peaking at the right time.

Pakistan really have timed this perfectly haven’t they. Their bowling talent just blows me away every time I see them. You can literally tune in any year and they’ve got another 2 world class bowlers produced.

Pakistan really should have won every game in this tournament so far, most of them comfortably. However they made a mess of their first two games but got given a second chance.

Anyway, well done on reaching the final. Should be a great one regardless of opponent.

Well deserved Pakistan,

India Pakistan final would be amazing

Peak Pakistan this. Best team at the tournament last year, knocked out by a moment of madness. Dead and buried after two games here and yet somehow in the final

I think ICC would've preferred an Aus vs. India final.

I don't think it matters to them. Earlier India making deep run matters for TV deals but with this new format semis and final only make up two additional matches for Indian audience so doubt they care anymore.

Not too outrageous. Having good, consistent bowling is IMO more than half the battle won. Unless they get a 170+ to chase, they're favorites I feel

STFU. We are the underdogs and shall remain is such! No need to say otherwise

Whilst I hope England win at least India Pakistan would be a spicy final

I hate the fact that ICC still hasn't introduced IPL style eliminations for wc semis. Finishing top of the group has no advantage.

Yes it does. You play the weakest qualifier from the other group. Been common in cricket and football for many years.

I actually liked the format from the ICC Championship (I think) where all the teams were in one group and everyone got to play each other in the tournament. I think it was 10 teams. After playing 9 games each, the top 4 went through to the semi’s.

In this case, eng vs Pakistan as eliminator.
Huh?

Why would you do 2nd v 2nd and 1st v 1st?

No logic in that at all. You basically get punished for being the best in your group or you try to strategically choose how to come 2nd without the other best team trying to do the same.

The winner of 2nd vs 2nd plays against the loser of 1st v 1st. Seems stupid.

Ok I see but that still seems stupid. The current system works fine for multiple sports for a long time.

Well it gives the 1st place team a lifeline for finishing top of their group. Not that I think the system needs changing.

With rained off fixtures affecting some and not others it would be even more unfair.

Apparently Melbourne is looking wet for both Sunday and Monday, and part of me is dying for either England winning on a coin toss, or Pakistan beating India on one.
Monday evening forecast is better. Only question is if ICC would want a final decided by a 5 over match on Sunday itself.

It's a used pitch tomorrow. Ridiculous.

Means the toss will be a huge factor.
