ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Don't care what he scores now. 20 off 17 in the PP is fecking shite. He shouldn't be opening

India keep losing LOI tournaments due to this selfishness, despite all the talent they have in the domestic game.

Exactly, the whole arguement for having these selfish wankers at the top for stability is dead.

Most Indian fans are scared of facing NZ in semi. I would rather avoid England indeed.

Classic case of higher floor + lower ceiling (NZ) vs lower floor + higher ceiling (Eng). I can see why Indian fans want to avoid the former based on their history but in general you want to avoid the team with the highest potential.

Kohli out now. What a terrible, terrible partnership.

They've left 8 overs now for everyone else to rescue this

Indian LOI cricket over the past 5 years is the most frustrating thing in sport.

KL will get the T20I captaincy for this 50 after this tournament argh.

Either will smash us based on how it's been so far for us

Why are people still so kneejerky in this thread

Should know by now that it only takes two overs to change things.
India looking at a nice total here.

What do you think is his best position?

SKY innings papering over the cracks yet again.

He should open in T20s. He's a pinch hitter, who should get you 30 off 15 to start your innings because he'll go from the off.

Shaw should also be starting ideally, but one of the should always be opening for India in T20s.

Open in T20s, #4 in ODIs and 6 in tests.

Agree with Skills. Ideally you play Shaw and/or Samson as the openers but that won’t happen.

SKY over the last 12 months and Buttler at his best are really the peak of T20 batting - no one else even comes close. Some of the West Indians were better 6-hitters on smaller grounds but never talented enough to do this on big or slower grounds.

SKY is ridiculous. What are those shots.
I had sort of stopped following cricket, so this is totally out of the blue for me. What a player.

ABDV as well. Though I don't know if he showed it enough in t20i

It’s like that every time. The test matches are even worse

Buttler’s been great but I don’t think I’ve seen anything like what SKY has shown ever besides maybe peak AB.

India have nothing to fear vs England or NZ to be honest

Pleasant surprise to see Pakistan make it to the semifinals. South Africa really managed to choke, again!

I know Sharma and KL have been poor but, having looked at the numbers in the tournament, there aren't any better performers at the top.

Agree - I think people sort of try not to go overboard because he's not a big name, but Surya's T20 batting is at a level hit only by AB. And AB never did in crunch situations like Surya does.

The fact that he gets shunted to 4 to accomodate 3 ball wasters is basically a crime by Dravid and Rohit. We're leaving runs on the field in this tournament because of this -- because we're far too respectful about dropping/benching star players in Indian cricket. A lack of courage from the two people responsible.

I'm scared of all of them! We're going to win this I think. I had to book my tickets to London a few weeks ago, for this weekend, and booked it so that I won't be in transit during the match because I thought we'd be there -- one game away..

I hope NZ dump Pak out. I think NZ are the better team there but just don't want us to play Pakistan in the same tournament again, and in a knockout. Moot point if England knock us out which is very possible.

T20 international career for Surya: 1200 runs. 42 average at 180 strike rate. Has there been a batsman who has had a 1000 run patch which compares?

AB De villiers 1700 runs; 26 average at 135 strike rate.

Glad Pakistan made it through - they're a really entertaining team and their fans definitely deserve something to look forward to given everything going on there currently.

Reckon India are favourites for the tournament now. Not convinced England have the rounded game for the latter stages, NZ don't seem to have the highs often enough to guarantee success. Could see it being an India-Pakistan final which would be tasty.

Yadav has got to be the most in form T20 player in the world at the moment.

The most inform batsman ever. Can't remember a player having the run of form he has. You'd think teams will come up with a weakness but don't know what that is honestly. Maybe short balls close to his body that he can't ramp?
