ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

India had a great start, and then decided to bowl Hardik for some reason

Question, is there a reason India’s first game in this World Cup (in India and against Australia no less) doesn’t appear to be sold out?

I think it'll fill up by the 2nd innings. Do remember its extremely hot there so people do avoid the sun.

Anyone got any rivers? I’m travelling and using a VPN for Hotstar isn’t working

R/Cricket seems to think loads of tickets are reserved for politicians and their friends by the BCCI who just aren't bothering to turn up

They're selling tickets in tranches as well. India vs Pakistan is less than a week ago and >10% tickets were only opened for sale today...

Alex Carey has completely collapsed after the Ashes incident and it's absolutely wonderful to watch.

Rattled.

@zing is there I believe. Will be interesting to hear from him later tonight

I am not, actually. It was not possible to get tickets - no availability. I don't know why it's empty because I know lots of people who wanted to go

This is the most likely reason. I know you might actually find it funny not being from India but this is actually super common, so I was a little bemused reading this post

No one is beating India on these pitches

India preparing 400 run pancakes for other teams and rank turners for themselves

I don't have any faith in our batting line up against any spin bowling. But we should still be winning this chasing 200-210.

Good bowling by the Aussies, but 2 reckless shots by players who should be further down the order. Rahul should have opened.

Same thing Sri Lanka did in the Asia Cup final. Kept swinging at everything and getting out

That Kohli drop will be massive. You have to take it when it’s someone like him. Criminal drop.

Zampa hasn’t been the same since Klaasen took him to the cleaners.

Top innings by these two. Also, shows how good Indian spinners were.

Good win for India after the start. The dropped catch was the turning point. Just like in the Ashes I am not a fan of Cummins as captain

Zampa was complete garbage on a pitch, that aided every other spinner in some way. What's happened with him?
