ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Jesus there have been some truly terrible games of cricket in this WC

No one is beating India in this form
I think even Manchester City are not this dominant. The Barca team under Pep weren't even this dominant. We literally have players playing for centuries and competing for fielding trophies while demolishing all that is before them.

I think Pakistan will beat New Zealand very handsomely, enough to get ahead on run rate and then lose to England. That would be the most Pakistani way of getting knocked out of the tournament.

And all with home comforts and pitches that suit India to the maximum.
Indeed, dominance.

Not even Pakistan are capable of losing to England at the moment

Hey hey hey - we're the kings of failing after fighting to give ourselves a chance from initially failing.

India not winning this tournament would be quite something.

It's sport so it can happen - but the expectancy must be through the roof now.

It’s those damn pitches
Funny right. When our pacers take wickets, it's pitch man. When spinners take wickets , it's pitch man. When batters score runs, it's pitch man. When kohli scores a 100, he is selfish man.

Literally one poster was on a wind up, some sensitive souls on here.

Well yes. But we have seen this picture before. Best side in 2015 group stages, best side in 2019 group stages and then lost in semis.

2019 was slightly different as England were always favourites going in - then they had the group stage wobble while India looked strong, but as soon as England made the semi's it felt like they were the team to beat.

This is India miles out front. SA look good, but that's just form - this team is way better

Wow, chill out

It's not a lie to say Indias game is more suited to these pitches than anyone else's game! That's cold Rafa style facts.

Doesn't take away from the fact that India are also one of if not the best team in the competition, but certainly playing at home elevates their game by a huge amount.

Well, they've beaten their Asia Cup score.

5 for 18 in the end, went for the most runs of any of the indian bowlers. funny how quickly things can change in cricket.

From hero to embarrassment. Went for 35% of the Sri Lankan runs.

Shami wasnt even in the WC team plans a year ago
Siraj wasnt thought of as a limited overs bowler 18 months ago

if they’d gone for a thousand runs then he would have nearly conceded enough runs to lose the game off just his own bowling. wouldn’t want to be an indian selector for the next match.

Two of the four biggest winning margins in ODI's are now from India beating Sri Lanka.

They look so strong, an India v South Africa final would be great but I can't see anyone other than the hosts winning this, they've got everything locked down and fantastic support.

The only thing we haven't seen them do is chase down an above 330 total. But I don't think their bowlers will let any team score that much.

I was about to say - you'd need a seriously flat deck, some players in top form, and a bad day out for 3 of India's bowling line up to make 330+.

The semi final is at this ground - it's the flattest in India

And will likely be against Australia

1 out of 3 will happen, 2 out of 3 can definitely happen

But yea, whomever the batter is, they'll have to get past this bowling and that's not going to be easy

I don't know. Bumrah locks down an end, but Yadav, Siraj and Shami can go for runs if they're not taking wickets. They're usually great at taking wickets though

Exactly, would have liked the game vs sa to be at maybe pune or delhi, kolkata hasn't produced flat decks this wc. We need bowlers to have atleast a semi off day before knockouts.

If they cancel the golf day pre match they might have half a chance.
