Can we re-open my locked thread please? Thank you
Yea my mistake. I read the rule and thought it meant boundries in the super over so was confused as to how they knew England would win in advance. He's correct. The 50 over boundaries are included.
if you hit the most boundries in the super over surely it wouldn't come down to boundries? You'd win on pointsOhhhh thought the rule meant boundries during the super over.
That is pretty shit, but again who cares
Then decide it on wickets in the Super Over. England still win.Agree. Boundaries rule is a farce.
Fair enough
That was fecking horrendous.
Horrible horrible horrible
Does anyone have the boundary stats? So England being aggressive with the bat worked.
Then decide it on wickets in the Super Over. England still win.
You're right England have been the best team for a while now, its good they have something to show for it.We deserved to win the World Cup.
Been the best side in the last 4 years.
I'm so happy
Not really. England hit 2, new zealand hit 1 but they got the same 15. More ways to score than boundriesif you hit the most boundries in the super over surely it wouldn't come down to boundries? You'd win on points
Luck is a random uncontrollable event - this is a stupid rule.. what's the rational reason for awarding 4 if it hits the bat and goes off? there really is no loophole that it closes.
internet may have broken and world would have had to quarantine salt, but it would’ve be funny to observeImagine the reaction on here if that deflected boundary happened to India. Absolute mayhem would’ve ensued.
Damn wide ball showing me upNot really. England hit 2, new zealand hit 1 but they got the same 15. More ways to score than boundries
The Trafalgar Square celebrations.... Seen more excitement literally anywhere
What? Surely it's less ridiculous than deciding it on boundaries in the previous game?

Hell no. My old heart wouldn't stand the drama.
So the last three WCs have been won by the team who have hosted it.
Bring on 2023!
Eh? So the likes of Eric Dier or Owen Hargreaves should have never represented England then since their football education was in a different country? Not strange at all. A lad who learnt how to play cricket in the West Inidies system, has just helped England win. How much credit should I give them for that super over?
He can be as British as he wants. Using the passport to play cricket for England is the part that does not sit right. The windies used thier resources to help bring him through their system, and he just feck's them off! All for, I suspect, bigger commercial opportunities.I don't know, he has a British passport so he's British by law. If it was a residency only thing like Costa in football for Spain then fair enough but I don't think you can tell a British citizen that he isn't English if that is what he wants to be.

It's like deciding a penalty shootout that's tied at 5-5 based on the distance out any goals in the game were scored from.
2011:- India, Srilanka and Bangladesh
2015:- Australia and New Zealand
2019:- England and Wales
2023:- Just India.
You guys are messing with powerful magic.
Start a thread on it then if it bothers you so much. Just stop raining on people's parade in this one.Not strange at all. A lad who learnt how to play cricket in the West Inidies system, has just helped England win. How much credit should I give them for that super over?
I’m an India supporter and I would’ve like to see thatinternet may have broken and world would have had to quarantine salt, but it would’ve be funny to observe
MoreAre England fans gonna enjoy this less because of what India fans are saying?
